Hi my good news at last.........

Post by Lisa Ch »

Hi everyone

Well the twins are here and they are...................................
....................................................
2 boys (who guessed right???? - Tracey S????)

Thomas 5lb 3 oz and Ben 5lb 8 oz delivered naturally, or as naturally as it gets with the help of vontuse (for Thomas) and forceps for Ben.

OKay here goes the info..........

All I can say is that honestly it was not as bad as I was expecting and I know a lot of you knew I was shi**ing myself - but thankfully didn't even do that

My waters broke at home on Tuesday 6 July and I went up to the hospital, was 5cm dilated by the time I got there, had a scan which showed twin 2 Ben was still transverse although twin 1 was head down. Was contracting every 4 minutes and was taken to delivery and had an epidural - bliss.
This was about 6.00am and the boys were born at 4.50pm and 5.12pm

Both well, couldn't breastfeed to tired and not much activity going on in my boobs. They are feeding well and we all came home today.
Its the start of our new life 2 become 4 and the fun, tears and hardwork have begun. Wouldn't swap it for anything.

Good luck all those who are next, can't wait to hear your good news.
Thanks for all the help and support I have received throughout the last few years. Speak to you soon off to feed the boys.
Love Lisa, Thomas and Ben x x x

Congratulations Lisa and welcome to Thomas and Ben!

It's spooky but I've just got back from visiting my twin nephews ... Ben and Thomas, so we definitely approve of the names. I'm afraid that I thought you were having a boy and a girl so I definitely don't win the sweepstake!

Enjoy your new family.

Lisa

I am so thrilled but reckon you know that - firstly congratulations and secondly I was right - knew you would have had them and thought 2 boys. The funny thing is we have prepared a boys name just in case one is wrong - sure they are not both wrong and the name is Thomas. I want Thomas Benjamin but DH wants Thomas George! How funny!

I am so glad to read not as bad as you thought - I am at the stage you were where absolutely bricking it - now 35.3 and thinking yikes any time now. Glad you weren't in long too.
Hope to see you here from time to time and well done - enjoy
Love
Tracey

and....Thomas is the name we have chosen for our second twin ! It was going to be Thomas George, but I think i've got my own way now for him to be Thomas Robert. Thomas actually means twin, and Robert is my partners name. I'll leave the surprize of the name of twin 1 until they are here....which could be anytime!

Lisa and dh
congatulations on the birth of your two boys Thomas and Ben

We are really struggling with boys names but Thomas is top on the list but I think we will spell it without a "h".

Take care

Hi everyone
thanks so much for your replies.
Its great the boys are really good - so far, their main awake time though is between about midnight and 2.00am and they seem to take it in turns. Sleeping and eating is great and we have just had to increase their bottles!!
I can't believe the amount of wee though and where it manages to go as soon as you take their nappy off - it has ended up inside drawers and in photo frames on the window sill as well as all over me, dh and them

Got out with the pram for the first time yesterday, which was nice although very tiring.

Take care all
Love Lisa, dh, Thomas and Ben x x x x
