Well these babies are still snug as a bug. I don't believe I will be having babies born in 2011. I don't feel any different than I did several days ago. I am still battling this nasty cold, so maybe they are trying to give me time to start feeling better before they arrive. We had our growth scan on Thursday and everything looked great! Their weights were measured at
6lb 8oz and 6lb 11oz.... not bad if I do say so. Everyone have a safe and happy New Yr's!

Yingz, Addy, Nwquiz and Dallas- thinking of you ladies and hoping you all beat us to the finish line for your sake. I can't believe how uncomfortable I have become in the last few days as Evelyn has decided to stick her bum and feet into my ribs and diaphragm. You must be so ready to meet your LOs!

Barbara- welcome back from Florida! Its so fun to tell the good news. Did you do anything special or creative in how you announced it?

LYD10- What an awesome Beta girl! I just knew you were going to do it this time. You deserve it. So looking forward to celebrating a perfect HB yet.

AFM- Bored out of my mind in the hospital but Evelyn is behaving. No bleeding, no contractions, no issues. I am starting to get nervous about the amnio on Tuesday. I tried to avoid one with the quad screen...it just looks painful!

Talked to the doc today and she said they will have an initial result back Tuesday and if lungs are mature we will deliver Tuesday or Wednesday. If the initial result is inconclusive on her development a more detailed result takes a couple of days which means later in the week. Amazingly, everyone seems to think vaginal is the best way to go and all the research I have done online supports that.

Whatever happens it looks like we are still on for next week. I hope she is ready for us because we are ready for her!

Question for you, especially the mothers of twins out there - how soon did you get the nursery all set up and furnished? I'm thinking with twins I want everything basically done by 30 weeks, because by then I'll probably be huge, and you never know how early they might come. So I am trying to pick out paint colors and ordered cribs yesterday! Am I being overly aggressive?

Although I am in a slightly different position (we have a surrogate); we are expecting twins in July 2012.
I looked at paint colors this week.

I want to have the nursery set-up by May 2012 before 30 weeks and certainly before the Baby shower.
I don't think you're being overly aggressive.
Now is the only time we're ever guaranteed - I'd say good for you !
I'm following your lead and getting our things early - so I can research.

Hi, we went to IKEA yesterday to check out nursery furniture, etc. We picked everything out, but didn't get anything just yet. Basically, the plan is to have a list of everything we need/want to get by the end of the month. Most stuff will go on the registries (furniture won't); we'll be having 2 registries: BRU & Amazon. I need to have the registries up by the end of the month as that is when the invitations for the shower will be going out. The shower will be Sunday, March 4th. I will be 30w3d then. Whatever isn't bought off the registries will be bought that week & following weekend. I'll be a little over 31w. As far as the furniture for the nursery, we will be going back to IKEA towards the end of February to purchase everything & then, we'll set everything up. So, the nursery will be put together just before the shower.

We ran into a couple w/ boy/girl twins at IKEA yesterday & started chatting w/ them. Her due date last year was the same as mine (May 10th), but she delivered on April 8th, so she was a little over 35w. That confirmed my plan to have pretty much everything ready by the time I'm 33w.

I don't really think there's a "right" time to start getting things ready & purchasing items. The reason for my "delay" is that we wanted to really research, shop around, get people's personal experience stories/suggestions, etc. It's whatever works for you. We have definitely started getting some stuff here & there...DH's diaper bag, swim floatties (for when they're older...but they were so cute & on clearance, so DH couldn't resist), clothes, diapers, nursery books, rattle toys, etc. We picked out their bedding from Amazon, but will be purchasing it on our own instead of putting it on the Amazon registry. I'll be ordering them this coming weekend. I decided to rent a pump from the hospital instead of buying one/putting one on a registry. We are also signing up for classes at the hospital we'll be delivering (childbirth education, BFing, infant care) & a maternity hospital tour. These will all be in March when I'm between 31w & 33w.

Bodie- I had my cribs purchased and set up by 24wks and the nursery was complete prior to 28wks. We did not do any painting because the walls were already taupe and I wanted neutral colors. I figure in just a short time I will be separating them into 2 rooms and then we will do the theme of their choice then.

This weeks plan - finish all my cleaning and laundry today, sleep and rest all day for tomorrow, have babies on Tues!!! I dont know what time my induction will start Tues. The hospital will call me between 5am and 8am with my morning arrival time. Sooooooo nervous, its really kinda wierd "knowing" when they will be coming.

Bodie--I'm a mama to a singelton and I had everything done by 30 weeks too I was just really excited to get everything set up and ready for her! I'm 35 weeks with baby #2 and there wasn't as much set up needed this time around . . . I have the basics (co-sleeper, clothes, a few diapers, etc.), but I was definitely more gong-ho the first time around!

Bliss: Gracie did have issues with breastfeeding. Not sure if it was because she was early or because I bottle fed her with formula from the get-go . . . all I know is that she never quite got the hang of breastfeeding and I wasn't overly aggressive in pursuing it. I just pumped and bottle fed her formula and breast milk until she was six months old. My plan is the same for Grady. Breastfeed him if I can, but not beat myself up if I can't. Formula is not rat poison

AFM: Braxton-Hicks are kicking my butt! I don't remember them being this intense with DD . . . My sister is due anyday now with her DD and says she is going to beat me up if I deliver first Just getting over a nasty cold (like many of you) and waiting for Grady's arrival . . .

Dallas: Best wishes for a great birth experience! I was induced with Brooke and I loved it. I liked getting settled into my room, meeting my nurses and mentally preparing before labor. I can hardly wait for your birth story and newborn pics!
