Lyd, AWESOME Betas! Wow! Super exciting! How are you feeling in terms of the bloating after your hospital visit? Are you having other pregnancy "symptoms"?
Barbara, I'm so glad the spotting has stopped; great news! How are you feeling?
AFM, I go in for my ultrasound this morning; I'm super excited and also nervous of course! I definitely feel a little "off" in terms of pregnancy symptoms, and I have no idea if that is because of two sacs or just a different pregnancy than with my son! It's scary to think of the possibility of twins, but my husband and I just keep saying we can't worry until we know for sure if we are having twins. Hopefully we'll hear a heartbeat/s this morning! I'll post once we get home.

OMG!!!! We are having twins! We are excited of course, but also overwhelmed about how we will manage this with a toddler (and financially). Wow! Lots to absorb today:) We saw both heartbeats with our ultrasound today, so that was wonderful!

Alexis, congratulations! I know how you feel - that would be my feelings exactly - excited and scared! Can you believe you ll have to buy another crib! What the heck - I thought I would get to reuse everything! but who cares right! Just as long as they are healthy.
I still have another 2 weeks before my u/s. I am going in for beta 3 this Thursday. Just keeping my fingers crossed it keeps rising good.
My water weight is dropping slowly but I still look 2nd trimester pregnant. People at a playground asking me when I am due. So annoying. I have to go to work tomorrow and have a couple of big sweaters picked out.

Lyd: Best wishes for a great beta on Thursday. Sorry about the bloat. They say that you show faster with second babies - I found this to be true. As my IVF bloat fades, it's being replaced with prego belly. Don't be shocked if you show early too.
AFM: I am surprised how different this pregnancy is from my last. With Brooke, I was violently ill but I had energy. This time, I'm barley sick but I have extreme fatigue and insomnia (great combo). With Brooke, I was really hungry but this time, I'm indifferent to eating most of the time. The two pregnancies are 100% opposite in terms of symptoms so far.
I'm all done with the patches and have one week of 1/2 dose progesterone shots to go. I'll be happy to be done with those - my sharps container is full and my injection sites are sore. I go to the OB on Jan 11, I'm looking forward to seeing the baby again and moving into the arena of normal pregnancy care.

Barbara, Brook looks adorable! Beautiful pictures! Are you hoping for a boy or a girl next?
Yes, thank you for posting your different symptoms with different pregnancies. I am aware that this might be the case, but nevertheless keeping comparing to my first pregnancy and freaking out if it's not the same. So it's good to know that everything is different.
I am actually feeling less nauseous as my bloat decreases. I still have 7 lb of water to go as of this mornings weight. I am drinking a half caf right now. Probably shouldn't but my DH and I are enjoying a day to ourselves as DS is back in daycare today, before we go back to work tomorrow. For lunch we are going to Korean place! Yum! I'll get my protein throu those yummy Korean BBQ ribs. Hopefully the protein will help with the bloat.
I am so eager for the heartbeat u/s! It is still so far away. Have to get through Thursday first. Really hoping I will get a nice confirmation on Thursday. Then I can focus on waiting for the heartbeat u/s which hasn't even been scheduled yet. I just can't wait to find out how many are inside. I oscillate between freaking out that thee will be nothing inside to freaking out that there will be 3 heartbeats inside. I am keeping my fingers crossed for 1-2 healthy ones. That's the sweet spot.
Alexis, once it all sinks in let me know what you are going to do about twin stuff planning. Our DS are the same age. He will be two in march. So he will need his crib until three I presume. I have a bassinet that I used for DS and am planning to use for the baby. It's just a question of whether I am going to get another bassinet or not. Regardless, now we buy everyone on Craig's list - its just so much cheaper! We bought all our britax carseats on Craig's list. we make sure to buy them from nice homes and neighborhoods.

Hello again guys! I hope everybody is doing well and hanging in there! I had to take the day yesterday to just absorb the news that we are having twins. I of course am so thankful, especially with our infertility struggles, but it's also a lot to think about all of a sudden! You know it is a possibility when you put more than one embryo in, but you don't really expect it to happen to YOU! My DH and I have lots of research to do to try to get as prepared as possible. LYD, I know you had asked about crib plans for our DS who will be 2 in February. I am thinking that we will transition him to a toddler or single bed before the twins arrive, and then my hope is to use the crib for both of the twins for a while; do you think that's a bad idea? The babies don't really roll or move around that much, so I am guessing there would be plenty of room in the crib until they get bigger. I'm also thinking that they will like to be together. I will have to do more research to see what other twin moms have done. We have one friend that had a toddler and then had twins, so I am very eager to talk to her. Of course, we first need to make sure that things progress as expected over the next few weeks! I have so much running through my head right now. I was reading on some other twin mom forums last night and it freaked me out!
LYD, I can't wait for your next beta and ultrasound! Wouldn't it be fun to go through the twins experience together?
Barbara, your pictures of Brooke are so precious...she's a total cutie! I wonder if you are having a boy this time if your pregnancy feels super different? I definitely feel different this time; a little more tired and definitely sensitive if I don't eat frequently. My last pregnancy I gained so much weight because I ate my way through the first trimester. I want to be more careful this time for sure (but don't know what my needs are and how soon those change with twins). On another note, how do you get the pregnancy ticker on your signature? Which link do you use from the Lily Pie website? I can't remember from last time how to do it...
Kerpupples, when do you transfer? How are you feeling this week? Do you know how many you will transfer? Please keep us posted:)
SueQiwi, keep us posted on your journey over the next few weeks; it's great to see you back!

Alexis - i think it would be awesome to be twin/toddler buddies! i hope hope hope for a healthy heartbeat or two soon!!!
i am also trying to figure out if its ok to put twins in the same bed. it seems that most people on this forum are buying two cribs. but then again most people on this forum dont already have a toddler. i've also heard that its ok to have them sleep together - maybe even better for them - keeps them on the same schedule.
can you share with me the twin forums you've been looking through?
also, have you thought about joining pregnant after treatment board - there is a lot of ladies with recently delivered twins on there. good source of information. i am on the 2012 EDD board - Dallas is delivering twins today and ttcbn is carrying triplets with a kindergardener at home.
i can only imagine how overwhelmed you feel! i feel the same way - and i dont know even have any reason to yet!!!! - i am hoping not to jinx it with my stupid worrying - i am getting way ahead of myself!
OMG - how exciting, right! and nerve racking at the same time.

Alexis: I did use the Lily Pie website to make my ticker. However, I always forget which code to use and end up doing trial and error a few times to get it right. Do make one! It's so much easier to follow everyone's progress with tickers.
Lyd: It kills me that your doctor makes you wait so long for the first ultrasound. I wonder what his reason is for waiting until the heartbeat.
AFM: I'm curious if our new baby is a boy or a girl. On one hand, I am hoping for another girl so that Brooke can have that special relationship that only sisters have. On the other hand, a boy would be nice too - my husband would have a same gender child and we'd have all the fun of raising a boy. Either gender is fine with me, they both have things that are special and wonderful about them. Of course, I'm dying to know so that I can start thinking about names.

Barbara - i know - the wait is long. i think my doc thinks what's there to be gained by looking at sacs? you can worry the patient unnecesarily - if the sac is not exactly on time or whatever. i think he is of the opinion - less is more - for patient sanity. and even if we saw two sacs we still couldnt conclude its twins - cause you'd still have to wait till heartbeats. and also - his office bills insurance for these - so he tries to minimize the number of visits to the most necessary ones. This is an OBGYN office rather than an RE office.
anyway - as much as i understand all this - i still want to know as soon as possible - but only if its good news! right how silly it is. if its bad news - i dont want to know.

Hi ladies, thanks for thinking about me! I'm all set for the transfer tomorrow at 1:30 PM. We are going to transfer 2, and with the genetic testing the doc said we have a 78% chance of delivering a baby - so I suspect there is a good chance that I will be joining you in the toddler/twin arena! Though Morgan will be 3 1/2, so I suspect more of a preschooler than a toddler.
Alexis - congrats on the twins! Lots to think about, no? I suspect if we have twins we'll be buying another crib, but I guess we'll see. We already have a twin bed we can transition Morgan to (she's in her crib with the toddler rails up now), so at least we don't have to worry about that. But I'm trying not to get ahead of myself.
Barbara - so happy you are about to transition to your OB. Getting off those PIO shots has to be such a huge relief. I'm on Endometrin now and had to switch to it with my first pregnancy because my doc had me on 2cc of PIO and my poor rear just couldn't take that for very long. And Brooke is simply adorable!
Sue - hope that the supplements and herbs do the trick!
Lyd - wonderful betas, lady!
