A small personal update for the pickup today.

Got up at 5:20 to prepare for the pickup at 7:00. DH cannot enter the operation room this time to witness the retrieval. I was fully awake during the procedure but fell asleep quickly afterwards. 12 follicles were retrieved. Hopefully the quality is better this time and we got extra embryos to work on implantation issues.

Start taking utrogestan and progynova daily.

So much to catch up with! Since I haven't had much of note to post about, I've been quiet, but following you all.

Maria - doing a BFP happy dance for you! I really hope that the Lovenox does the trick. I would say don't hesitate to switch from PIO to the suppositories once you start having trouble. For my last pregnancy, my doctor had me on 2cc of PIO, and I had to switch to suppositories because my poor bottom just couldn't handle that much.

Leora - what a nightmare with this pregnancy for you! I'm glad you've got the play going on as a distraction. Pulling for that zero beta.

Kala - My BFPs were both late so you still have hope. I do like your positive attitude for your plans if it's a BFN. I'm jealous of lots of skiing! Do you guys ski at Winter Park/Maryjane since you are so close?

Bonnie - hooray for your little bean! What's next, another u/s then transition to OB?

Ninde - I'm exactly the same weight as you too. I'm an inch taller at 5'10", but I can't imagine that makes a huge difference. My OB scolded me about my weight gain (~4kg since my last pregnancy attempt), but the RE clinic hasn't said a word about it. I've struggled with depression lately and I tend to comfort eat and not exercise when I'm feeling down. At this point I'm relying on a BFP and breastfeeding. I lost all my baby weight, 11kg, in 2 weeks after my daughter was born and I credit that entirely to breastfeeding! In any case, I'm sure that extra time will give you time to get good an prepared for your next cycle.

AFM - after some initial low estrogen, my bloodwork has all been on track and I'm scheduled for my FET tomorrow at 1:30 PM. We're planning on transfering 2, that are graded 5AA and 3AB blasts. With the genetic testing my doc said we have a 78% chance of not just pregnancy but delivery! DH is all excited about the possibility of twins. Yikes! I'll be on bedrest post-transfer and the next day. I didn't do bedrest previously so I'm not much of a believer, but it's a great excuse to work from home on Friday.

Rats, Ivf attain coordinator is off today and I work all day tomorrow so it will Friday before we get going with the new program. I guess I'll go get that much needed oil change done today and I think Wednesday could be Ladies Day!

Anton - i just noticed in your post you said you have hypothyroidism. does your RE know about it? are you taking meds for this? because that alone could be the reason why your cycles havent been working. you have to take meds for it to make sure your TSH is in teh right range in order to get pregnant.

wow - that is suprising - i guess you just cant go by beta numbers alone - they tend to vary quite a bit from person to person.

Kala - i am so sorry you are still seeing BFNs. i like your plan of running during lunch and buying a dress. i know thinking of making this trip again just sucks - but at least you have two more frosties!

bonnie - congrats! so did they see a heartbeat at 6 weeks? congratualtions!

kerri - congrats on retrieving 12 follicles. rest up and let us know how many fertilize tomrrow!

WE - congrats on the line getting darker! thats always such a good feeling

AFM - i am freaking out a bit today. i am not feeling nauseous at all and that scares me - maybe the embry stopped growing? so, i called my doc and asked for my 3rd beta to be done today rather than tomorrow. i went in at 10am for my 3rd beta - and wont hear back till later afternoon. for some reason i am freaking out - i just hope, hope, hope it goes up again as it should.i need a 5000-6000 beta number at this point. scary!!!!

Hey! thank you for caring Lydia! much appreciated Well yes he knows and I am being monitored. I am on Ethyrox 100mg x 4 days a week and 150mg x 3 days a week since March 2010 when I was first diagnosed with it. Currently (since May 2011) my TSH level is 1.65 and is considered to be normal. (my clinic's rate is 0.5>5.5) I never had a problem with my hormones/Thyroid and I have always been below/normal my weight. I have been 49-50kg all my life (height 1.65m) and never been on a diet even for a day. My metabolism and thus my TSH levels, got fucked up after my 2nd IVF attempt. My endocrinologist told me that it changed because of the IVF hormones etc. Changes in metabolism/TSH levels are very common when doing IVF. Oh well! as long as its under control then all is good.

...I am sure your beta #'s are going to be sky high honey! don't worry! good thing you went and had one though. just to easy your self. my fingers are crossed for you!

OK, Anton - i am glad they are aware of it. Sounds like your TSH is just right. so it shouldnt interfer with getting pregnant at all. I am also hypothyroidic after my first pregnancy. and i have to take synthroid (US version of your med) every day. apparently its quite common for women to have thyroid problems post pregnancies or due to hormone changes.

still waiting for my doc to call. its only 1pm here. he usually calls between 3 and 6pm - whenever he can get a break between patients.
I already calculated from the beta website that in order for my doubling time to remain at 40 hours ( which is what it was from beta 1 to beta 2), my beta 3 would have to be 6600. but it is common for the doubling time to slow down as embryo grows, so even a beta of 4900 gives me a decent doubling time of 48 hours. so i guess anything above 4900 would be good.
