Thank you all for the info! We are probably using Walter Reed, the new Walter Reed as they say. It's around 21 days we'll need to be there. Once we are ready we'll ask for a referral to go. Once that is received we'll get a packet in the mail with blood work and test DH and I must do. That will be faxed to them. If everything is okay with all of that we'll set up some dates. Then we'll have to go there. We don't mind so much because his family is in MD, about 3 hrs from there. One of the reasons we were asking about visits. All appointments are at 6:30am. They don't have enough nurses so DH has to come in every exam.....going to be odd lol. You can wait for a nurse but that could take a while. DS LOVES history so we want to take him to DC for 1-2 days. We don't have to stay the night there since we aren't that far from it.

We were talking tonight and really thinking (HATE putting it off more!!) about waiting a month longer than planned. We should be getting things lined up for Sept/Oct but if he retires a month later we might as well wait. That way, we are back in the states (whoo!) for good AND don't have to worry about our dogs. It's over $400 to fly them ONE WAY. We don't want to board them because of our one dog esp, he was left at the pound and has issues with cages. Plus I couldn't relax knowing they are here. Army pays for us when we move or retire but NOT animals. Another year....esp counting the 9 or 10 months....so 2014? And that's if it even works. Not what I'd like.

I've emailed the clinic to find out when their cycles are in the hopes it would happen in Dec....that way hubby is still on free retirement leave and won't be working a new job yet. I've been thinking too much tonight! Why I'm sitting here at 2:30am, then again we both had a 4 hr nap while DS was in school today. lol.

Gina-wow, that sure is alot. It sounds like you definantely have a solid plan in place. It's always good to have a good plan. IVF gives us enough curve balls so it's always food to plan ahead. I really wish you all the best. I'm not sure if I missed it. Did you guys get the loan approved or are you going to be doing the Attain Program? Or is it through the military?

My tummy is cramping alot tonight, Af is well on her way but nothing new to my surprise.
Anyway- I found this out and wanted to share if anyone else out there is interested in the IVF ATTAIN PROGRAM:

1. Ask your practice to submit an Attain application for you. (If your doctor is not part of
the IntegraMed Fertility Network, click here to locate a practice near you.)
2. The IntegraMed clinical staff will determine your Attain eligibility, call you with the
result and send you a contract.
3. Apply to SpringstoneTM Patient Financing if you’d like to minimize your out-of-pocket

Gina, Springstone is who we will probably try to finance everything with, dh doesn't feel we could get approved for a personal loan for 23,000 (being so much) but if we could get approved through Springstone I would go ahead and tack on another 7 grand for the cost of meds. That way it wouldn't deplete our saving account and we could save and have enough for the nursery and other future expense. One thing I also liked is they do freeze the embryos and if the IVF program doesn't work for some reason, we can still use those embryos with a surogate, still giving us a chance to become a mom.

Anyway the scoop of everything I learned is bloodwork and semen analyis is done for screening- and once complete it takes around 24-48 hours to find out if you're approved. She said I would come in for the labwork around day3 of my next cycle. Anyway Dh and I decided May would be convenient for us both (his college semister ends on May 4th with 5 weeks off) so we would start treatment May 7th with tentative date of transfer on May 28th. Say hello to brith control all over again!
One thing I like is they told me on the 5 days prior to transfer I would hear from them everyday, keeping me in the loop. I did ask about the "up to 70% money back guarantee", she said it really all depends on how far along we get with the treatment. She said she doens't handle the financing part, but Springstone could answer those questions better. She said she will send me a Springstone informational packet in the mail along with an application to apply for the loan. She also said I would need to drive to Mobile, AL to attend a class for more information. I was so curious because I never had a sitdown class with my last clinic. I thought maybe I could meet some other girls going through this while I was there. lol I'm always looking friends who are going through the same thing. She said the class all about IVF and gives a breakdown of everything to expect in the whole process, I thought that sounds cool for someone who is brand new, I hope it teaches the newbies everything I've learned here.

So much to tell you...MooreBaby and LYD10 dh and I went to GNC tonight to check out vitamins together and I found the COQ10 suppliment you ladies recommended. However I wanted to find out what dosage (50 mg, 100mg or 500 mg). Yeah, they are running a special... Buy one, Get the second half off. Dh said he would be willing to let me try this regimen. I noticed it also is good for cardivascular with blood flow. I have some variscose (spider veins) with poor circulation. So thinking this could also help with that too?

Sunshine-that's quite a bit of information. Lots to digest. But it all sounds really promising. I like the idea of a class a's well. The buboes could really benefit from all the information. You ciul make some new friends and share some of your experiences a's well. I still wonder about the up to 70% money back. It will be interesting to know what the explinatuin is going to be. I thunk my clinic participates in this program. On their into while your in hold it talks about Integramed. I never knew what that was and never asked.

Thanks Lydia,
May start the bloodwork on Tuesday all depending on if they can get me in, but found out my new clinic has a sattelite office in Dothan, AL., so it's going cut the drive time in half! (Previously 3 hrs to the clinic) :D Too funny about the Coq10 suppliment, I never thought to ask if it was recommended for the husband lol glad someone let me know. I'll have to check with RE to see if he can take it along with MegaMan. (DH just changed vitamins, it was Ulitmate Man), but Megaman offers more to help with Prostate health and is loaded with essential vitamins. I'm just wanting whatever it takes to give us a better outcome.

Maria,
It does sound overwhelming, but hopefully can help relieve some pressure with 6 cycles (3 fresh+3 frozen) for one set price. Christy- Do you get all of those cycles if you get pg on the first round?

Patricia- Really, you can't get pics of your embryos in Ireland? It seems to be standard here.

Maria- Happy Birthday to DS. It's nice to have his birthday on a holiday that is important to you.

Gina- I had a gazillion trips to the clinic during my fresh cycle.

AFM- Feeling better. Not 100%, but definitely an improvement.

Happy Friday!

Cannot wait to hear your Beta. Praying nightly that you get and keep your BFP! :)

If we go there it will be out of pocket. It's a military facility so A LOT cheaper. Hopefully all goes well with DH's test and we should be looking at around $5,000 or less. Medications/injections are free. So that helps. Right now we are looking at lodging...wow it's a lot for 21 days! The cost or a place is almost the same as the IVF itself! Lets hope they give my hubby money for that part which I think they will do. Either that or a rental car great on gas and drive back and forth to his parents.

Christy- Thanks for the info! We weren't approved through Springstone. I sure wish IVF clinics had their own payment system. At least where we are going it's so much cheaper and we can still use them after he retires. Plus if he gets his job with the railroad we should be able to save up quickly for an IVF clinic with a good refund or bring baby home plan.

Got a telephone call from the monitor center this morning: I have no embryo growing for ET. It is the first time I have to stop the cycle this way. My positive thinking at the last minute seemed not working. I don't know what to say at this moment.

Gina-Thank you so much for your prayers. That is great news that tge military IVF will only be $5000 and the meds at no cost. I had no idea they did this. It us such a wonderful thing. I pray that they pay for the lodging so you guys can rest easy while going through the cycle. Wen will you know if they will cover the lodging or the rental car?

Sunshine-great information. I had no idea. I think I need to once again change the board so everyone continues to have a home and no one feels like they have to move yo a new board. So what if I just make this the 2012 IVF Board? There's a thought
