Frozen follistim debacle - Any extra follistim out there?

I am 42 and about to start my second IVF cycle. Yay! When I was out of the office one of my well meaning colleagues froze my follistim! Booo! Oooommm

My research indicates like I should not use the thawed follistim. Any opinions?

Does anyone have extra follistim that they are not going to use?

- - Me: 1 unsuccessful Iupron IVF cycle and 4 unsuccessful IUI cycles - 2 medicated and 2 unmedicated - over the last 3 years.

Wow I know your coworker meant well but that stuff isn't cheap. One idea is to message Tuffy4U to see if she still has Follistim, she offered to donate it last week so it's would be worth asking her to see. Before you replace the Follistim, be sure to ask your RE what to do.

Also, I read that Tuffy's Follistim was spoken for.

OMG. That is so wrong. Why did your co-worker think he/she needed to mess with your meds? I know it doesn't change anything, but I would never touch someone else's medication.

I'm thinking it sounds like you shouldn't store it at work! So sorry this happened!!

Thanks everyone so much for your support! I am trying to be zen about the whole thing, but it is a costly mistake to say the least.

I am going to speak to my RE tomorrow, although everything I have read indicates that I should not use follistim that was previously frozen. I will reach out to Tuffy just in case though.

Hello, I am so sorry about what've happened. I have some extra Follistim left from my last cycle, 3 x 300IU, I am asking $300 for all 900IU, just want to recover some costs for my last cycle. They are all brand new, exp. in 2013. Please let me know if I can help. GLIVF2011 at g mail doc com.

Thanks IVF2011, I was actually able to get some additional follistim from my RE. Yay!

Unfortunately, my FSH is too high to go forward with the cycle. Boo!

Glad you were able to get it worked out. I would make sure to have a talk with your coworker about what happened!
