First of all I wish you all best of luck. I am new here but fighting with infertility since 8 years, but thank GOD that I had a baby girl through IVF, she is 2 years old now.
And now we are so much excited for another baby. as she also miss her sibling...
I wanted to start my 2nd cycle for IVF in Feb, but My scan showed some infection in my uterus. So doctor advised me for a Hysteroscopy before IVF try.
I want to know any one did this before IVF, I was so hopeful before getting my scan report but now a bit nerves that may it effect on my IVF result..
So please let me know if any one of you have some experience.
I've had it done. Once was with no sedation to have a peek in my uterine cavity for abnormalities. They found a polyp and an adhesion, so did a second under general to remove both. They want your uterine lining to be a nice bare canvas for those embies to attach themselves to.
Neither one hurt, BTW. I was given some pain meds for after the surgery but it was really no biggie.

I've had it done...I would first do an HSG (if you haven't already) to confirm suspicions. If you have anything in your uterus that would interfere with implantation it would be worth it o remove it, otherwise IVF might be futile. Hope that helps.
I had an HSG & they found an anomoly so then they did other tests. It was determined I had a septate uterus. They did a hysteroscopy to remove the septum. I was asleep the whole time. However, they also did a laparoscopy & removed endo adhesions during the same procedure. Why are they not doing a HSG first?
