August 2012 Babies

Post by trying4second »

Hi everyone.

I would like to invite mommies who have an August 2012 due date to join me so that we can share our journeys together. I am a little too overwhelmed by the 2012 shared boards and thought a month-specific board would be more helpful.

I am blessed with a 2-year-old IVF daughter. I am now pregnant from a FET, but it has been quite a journey!

This message board was a blessing with my last pregnancy.
I wish everyone who posts on this board the best of luck and look forward to sharing our experiences together.

Hi Trying4second!
I would be happy to join the August 2012 due date group! I get a little overwhelmed trying to keep up with the longer threads too. I may deliver earlier than August; maybe we could make this a July/August due date thread? So far, we've seen two heartbeats, so if the twins continue, I am sure I would deliver in July.

I also have an almost 2 year old IVF son. His birthday is coming up, 2-3. When is your daughter's birthday?

How far along are you?

I am due with #2 on July 31 so I could have an August delivery (but let's hope we don't go too far overdue!). I have a 6 month old from IVF.

Welcome Alexis and Barbara - sorry for being MIA!

Let's definitely make it a July/August 2012!

I am 8 weeks, 2 days with one very healthy heartbeat!

My daughter, ALEXIS, is 2 years old, born 11-3-09.

Barbara, cannot believe you are doing this again with a 6 month old! You are brave.

Alexis, congrats on the two heartbeats. Keep it up!

Hopefully others will join.

I go back to my fertility doctor for the last time next Monday and then to the perinatologist on Tuesday :)

Hi Everyone! I was happy to see a thread for August 2012 babies :) The other ones are too large to get caught up on!

I am pregnant with our second child. EDD is 8/15.

Our 3 yr is an IVF baby and this pregancy was a FET.

How is everyone feeling? I have started to have horrbile sickness in the evening around 6pm-7pm I did not have this with my son so it's taking a bit to adjust to.

Look forward to sharing our journeys.

Welcome Jen! I so happy we have another member on this thread! It will be wonderful to experience this journey together! How soon will you get discharged from your fertility clinic? I have one more ultrasound on Tuesday and then it's to the regular OB for us. It feels strange to think about being considered a "normal" pregnancy; although, this time with twins I don't think I'll be considered normal! My IVF clinic doesn't seem to think fraternal twins are very high risk, which is reassuring, but in my past life (over 10 years ago), I was a nurse in high risk OB, so I saw a lot of multiple moms and how they end up on bedrest and in the hospital. I'm certainly scared of that happening, especially since this time around we have our toddler son (almost 2).

Jen, is your 3 year old a boy or a girl? Sorry to hear about your feeling bad in the evening. I don't feel too bad; definitely have to snack frequently though to keep feeling ok!

Talk to you guys soon!

Hi Alexis- Twins how excitin!!! When I had my first u/s there were actually 2 sacs but one was empty. I was discharged from the fetility clinic last week and will see my OB on the 31st. I also have a first trimester screening with the prenatal clinic on the 27th. I am 10 weeks this week and am letting myself get a little excited...we haven't told anyone except my parents and won't until I go into the 2nd trimester. My son is 3 and had asked for a baby sister for Christmas from Santa. It was sweet.

I am still feeling pretty horrible. I am hopeful this will pass as time moves on....

I finished my progesterone yesterday and now I am starting to take off my estrogen patches one daily. Are you still on shots, etc?

Welcome Jen!
How sweet that your son asked for a sister - sister or brother will be great!

I have been so sick too - mine is pretty constant and I have been throwing up throughout the day on and off. My doctor gave me Zofran just in case, but I have not taken it yet. I have been trying to manage with giner candy (and everything else ginger), what I eat, drinking warm things and just trying to rest (not easy with work and a 2 year old!)

My fertility doctor released me yesterday - we had an ultrasound and the little peanut waived at us :)

I go to my OB tomorrow, but he is a high risk perinatologist I will see throughout the pregnancy, like I did with my daughter. He gets to decide on my meds, but my fertility doctor recommended one more week of progesterone and stopping the patches.

Anyone considering CVS and/or amnio? My fertility doctor recommended against CVS because he said the risks are higher with a FET. We tried to do PGD and couldn't, so given that I am high risk, we will almost for sure do an amnio (I was hoping to have the info a little earlier).

I'm going to do what I did for my last pregnancy, the NT at 14 weeks and the Anomaly Scan at 20 weeks. If those results look good as they did last time, we won't proceed with any more testing. If the tests show something off, we'll decide then.

I'm finished the patches about 9 weeks and finished the shots at 11 weeks - it is awesome to be done with all that!

Hi guys! I hope everything is doing well and feeling good. Sorry I have been a bit MIA. I'm telling you this last week, all of a sudden the tiredness has kicked in! I didn't really experience this with my first pregnancy. I think it must be worse due to the twins...

I graduated from my fertility clinic last week! Our little ones had little arm and leg buds. It's so fascinating to see how much can develop between weekly ultrasounds. The secretary at our clinic is so nice; she gave me a hug and told me how happy she was for us. It totally made me emotional and I didn't expect that at all! Most of the time my clinic is not exactly the most friendly, caring place. It feels like they have so many patients, they just don't give that caring vibe anymore.

On Wednesday, I have my first OB appointment. I have so many questions I've been writing down, mostly surrounding twin pregnancy. I am very on the fence about whether I should start with a perinatologist at the beginning or what. It's impossible to predict what complications one might have later on!

My husband and son will be home any minute, so I have to run. I hope you gals are doing great...post an update when you have a chance!

Hi Everyone! I am still feeling pretty nauseous and like Alexis tired!!! My DS who is 3 has had some health issues going on and we had to go for an EEG this morning. The stress is wearing on me. We are hoping for good results. He had his tonsils out and his 3rd set of ear tubes put in and he now has developed a slight tic...UGHGHGHGH

I go for my first trimester screening on Friday and my OB next Tuesday. We still haven't told anyone we are expecting but by the way my belly is going I won't be able to hide it much longer. I am happy to be nearing the end of the first trimester. Hoping I start to feel better and that my son is okay.

I would love to hear from the everyone on how you are doing!

I had my NT screen today... The nuchal fold is good and we're waiting on the blood work to come back. The tech gave a guess about gender and said boy. I could see what she was seeing on the screen as it was fairly obvious. Of course, it's early and a guess is not set in stone. We'll be happy either way but I'm dying to know for sure so that we can start picking names!

Happy to hear you had good results from you NT scan. We had ours today and had good news as well. Waiting on the bloodwork now. My DH and I both felt that today made it seem more "real" The baby was moving around and moving it's arms. I loved it!!

How is everyone else doing?

Did they make a guess at the gender? Do you want to know?

No guess at the gender...the baby was moving so much they were having a hard time getting the measurements. We will find out though! March 16 is our next appt. I just received a call and my bloodwork all looks great. Below the normal avarage for Downs and T18. Tomorrow I am off to my OB for my forst visit!
