We,
Snacking with 6 small meals, adding soda crackers really helped my friend at work. She would carry around a pint of water too! I hope you start to feel better soon too.

Blueye,
You wanta call me Sunny, too cute...Well I do live in Florida, hence the name Sunshine...But you can call me Sunny only if you can find Cher somewhere on here! I did know a Sunny in high school who was seriously beautiful inside out.

IVF Attain Program: Dh wants us to hold off and wait until mid March to apply for the loan, since it would only take 24-48 hrs to find out. The IVF class is free to anyone who wants to come, I ask what does the class entail and she said every stage of development of what each of us will go through. I did tell her I have already been through IVF before, but who knows maybe I can learn something I already didn't know. With my first experience I was a mess and mostly in the dark before I found all of you.

She said so many girls get going in the class and while in the middle ask her okay very interested in this, can you start me right away but what they don't understand is preping takes time while the clinic has a timeline of ET happening every other month, which explains the bcp. As far as the class goes, she said they teach about every aspect of what to expect, how the embryos are formed and overall what takes place to prepare these girls emotionally and physically for IVF. I'm thankful to have some experience as I feel my second cycle won't be near as tramatic, knowing now what to expect. But more and more clinics should hold these classes, as we all know IVF in itself is a HUGE experience, not to mention how these hormones drives our husbands insane. They need to be prepared too! Overall, I've learned that if while in the IVF Attain Program something happens while in the middle of a pregnancy, the program allows the patient to cycle again with all cost covered up to 6 times. (3 fresh and 3 FET). Once we get everything approved, I feel this program would give us peace of mind. I absolutely cannot wait! :D

We- Hope you are starting to feel better but I know it's so bittersweet having those symptoms!! So happy for you and your family!!

Christy- I really hope you get into the Attain program which I'm sure you will!! If it weren't for the loan part of it we could to! Knowing you can get so many changes with the cost is def peace of mind! I'm going into mine with it probably being our only chance for a while UNLESS we get some to freeze.

I've been a little behind on the boards..Just been relaxing w/DH while he heals up. He's doing well and gets his cast on Friday with some hook up to stimulate the bone. Says it helps with the healing process.

AFM- Please send us some positive thoughts and prayers..Dh is hoping to retire next year around Nov. We'll do everything in Germany then head to the states. Well we are really wanting to get into the last ivf cycle of the year at Walter Reed, which is Oct. So in order to make that happen we are going to try and leave early and finish out the rest of his tour in the states (GA at Ft. Benning) and retire after that. That way we can go there while still having his job, plus start looking for him a new one, getting a house and so forth. We'll have more time that way, instead of getting out here and going straight there and having no time to get prepared. If we end up not getting in that cycle for whatever reason, it will still be better this way. Easier to find jobs if we aren't here and having to turn down interviews and such because we can't get there yet.

Hope that all made sense! So here in the next couple of weeks, he'll go turn the paperwork in. It will have to be approved of course because for one we are leaving before our 3 yrs in Germany are up, and two because they just may keep him in! They don't have to approve it. He's over the 20yrs so hopefully it isn't a problem. Nothing ever seems to work out the way we plan so it's hard to be hopeful.

Gina,
It sounds like you have alot on your plate. Glad dh is recooperating well from his injury, the arm-cast/stimulation rehab treatment will help so much! It will be nice to retire from military with 20 years of service and you will love being back in the states near your family. Trust me once dh finds a new career and you two get all settled in a new house, everything else will fall right into place. As for the IVF treatment, we will be your biggest cheerleaders when you get all set and ready to try for that next attempt, may THIS be the one! One thing I have learned from fertility treatment is patience and our future kids should someday appreciate that! :D

Hi ladies. I expected a beta with my bloodwork but they were only checking for my estradiol, which was great. So now I just have to be patient until my u/s next Tuesday. These 1st tri symptoms are kicking my butt. Much worse than my first pregnancy. The nausea is manageable but the fatigue and the heartburn are rough. Really cannot wait until that second tri break comes along.

Maria - you poor thing. It stresses me out to read about your bleeding so I can only imagine how rough it is for you. So glad they've diagnosed it and those babies are fine. Boy, do I hear you about the heartburn though. It kicked in yesterday with a vengeance. This is at least 8 weeks earlier than my previous pregnancy.

Barb - I may have to try the popsicles. Got a box of DD's Otter Pops from last summer in the freezer. I'm OK for now but I've still got some time before that nausea phase is over and I have a feeling it will get worse.

Christy - that sounds like a really great class.

Ninde - bless you for helping that poor lady given what you've gone through yourself. I and particularly DH had a very difficult time after our m/c. I wanted to do some counseling for it but he resisted. Time was the biggest healer of all, but with 3 in 6 months, ouch.

Leora - your friend is definitely having some postpartum depression. Perhaps you should gently remind her that there might be someone else who would be better equipped emotionally to help her out right now.

I missed out on a chance to go to Jerusalem for work 13 years ago. Wish I could have managed because it was during a quieter time in the Palestinian conflict. I've seen a couple episodes of House Hunters International recently in Tel Aviv and the homebuyers had a bomb shelter on their list of must-haves. I'm not sure how much the show played that up for drama though. I was aware of the religious significance of being there, but I've heard of people who have made temporary "pilgrimages" (forgive me if that's not the right term, I grew up in a small NM town with a nonexistent Jewish population) and returned here. I'm sure it helps to have David's family there. Was it hard to make friends initially not being fluent in the language?

And your transition that you've had makes total sense. You don't even have to grieve the baby part yet, but it's good to know you can be prepared for it.

Evening ladies

Christy: those classes sound really good for people going through it for the first time. Will both of you go? Yes, my client was able to open up and I will help her mourn the losses. Im very thankful I have a good clinical supervisor because I want to ensure my own stuff doesn't get in the way, that wouldn't be fair to her.

Nicole: in tramoilining (its actually called rebounding but know no-one gets that term!) E everyone has an individual rebounder/trampoline which is maybe two and a half feet deep and you do a full aerobic workout on it. The aim is to bounce down rather than up and as there is no impact on tne joints you can work really hard. Its an exceptionally good cardio workout. How are you?

Gina: sending positive vibes your way

Ker: oh yiur symptoms sound awful too

Maria: everyone has their own remedies, friend of mine swore by ginger

Afm: lost 2.5lbs in ww this week. Its slow but better than last week and if i can even manage 2lbs per week for the next 5 weeks it will just be enough.right, better sleep!!

We, What all have you been trying to eat? Hang in there.

Ninde, the aerobic workork sounds like it's working, you go girl! I am glad you have the support you need at work with your boss, I'm sure it's hard not to share what you're going through only because it's probably easy to relate to some of the clients. But you ahve to remain professional to take care of their needs. I'm glad you a good support group to turn to here as well. Yes dh would join me for the class. I'm kinda hoping to meet some other couples there too, maybe I could recruit some ladies to join us here. lol

Leora, How was the visit? I really hope she doesn't get you down, don't be afraid to break away.

AFM: went to the dentist this afternoon, with probing on somewhat swollen gums it was a painful visit. Everytime I go they make me sign a consent form stating "no changes" before x-rays are done. I tried so hard not to read the very top of that form where on one of my previous visits "I had wrote trying for a baby, m/c in Spring 2010." I cannot believe it's been nearly 2 yrs! Today I opened up to my dentist and told him everything. When he asked me how long have we been trying, I told him 3 yrs with seeking a specialist, but should of said we have been talking about a baby since 2006, I really didn't know...I mean I stopped birth control in 2003 and we used no protection. Dh says "pulling out" is considered "not trying" but we also know it's not 100% effective. But all I could say to my dentist was 3 years.... so I still feel that should of been explained a little better...remind me why does this have to be this way? He shared with me his friend who had been trying for 8 yrs and had their first baby last October. I had to ask if they went through IVF or conceived naturally, I didn't have a clue who he was talking about, but felt I had to know even though it probably doesn't change my standpoint. I did leave the dentist glad that I had someone who listened and renewed my faith that this can still happen for us. My dental hygenist asked if we had thought of getting the blood type checked when we miscarried? She said her daughter lost her baby due to having a different blood type. The best way I can explain it is...When the mother is Rh-negative and the father is Rh-positive, the fetus can inherit the Rh factor from the father. This makes the fetus Rh-positive as well. Complications arise when the fetus's blood has the Rh factor and the mother's blood does not which can cause these antibodies to fight off good cells in many cases causing a m/c. I had to go home and research this more and found out in most cases "blood type difference" can be prevented if it's caught in time w/ medication called immunoglobulin. Anyway has anyone ever heard about this?

Hi everyone! :D

Sunshine- Those classes sound very good. I wish we had them here too…maybe we do, I don’t know, I haven’t looked into it actualy..hmm… Rh positive, I am O+ and my mom is O- and I turned out to be fine..I think! ..

About Immunoglobulin, I took that during my 3rd and 4th IVF. On the day of my ER and then again on my ET day. My RE believes that with this I give my self antibodies just in case there’s an immune issue, for precaution. And also because I have Hypothyroid and he believes that Immunoglobulin would help implantation. He likes to think ahead even if there is no problem in front of him. I haven’t got a BFP yet but at least I know he did his best. The 8th IVF is going to be the lucky one for me :D

I don’t know if you know but Immunoglobulin comes from human plasma. And it costs a lot! Like, for a 5 small vials/bottles you get to pay around 1.200 euro. And that is just for one use. I got them from the hospital with my health card and paid 142 euro for each time. Now they have stopped giving them at the hospital, (stupid system!!! ) and if I need to take them again I don’t know what to do. We’ll see. Immunoglobulin looks like syrup and so it’s given together with iv. Check these sites if you are interested in learning more. Very interesting stuff!

Leora- I am so glad you like your new job and new RE! :D To have an RE and clinic that you like and trust, is the 50% of your IVF success! We are going through hell enough, having a doctor that we can really communicate with him and feel “safe” in his hands is the best thing one can have. ...Like you said, the majority of us here get to pay out of our pocket but at least we get a royal treatment from our RE and the clinic. Both the RE’s I have worked with have given me their mobile numbers to call anytime I have a question and he staff is amazing and they always remember my name. If that doesn’t make you feel that you are in safe hands then what will! Good luck with everything! I am a believer of new beginnings and this one is the winning one for you my friend! :D

How did the visit to your friend go? Yes, she sounds that she going through postpartum syndrome and she needs support and I am glad you are there for her….But just to remind you to protect your self and as soon you feel uncomfortable leave. I am sure you don’t need me to tell you that you’ve been through hell the past couple of years and you need support as well! I am not saying you should dump her, this is your friend and your decision, but what I am saying is that you should protect yourself. ((hugs)) 3 more weeks to your canary islands vacation!!!! WOOHOO!!!

Image

Ninde- Congratulations on the weight loss!!! Keep up the good work! :D

Image

Maria- I am sorry you are not feeling well and I wish I had some magic to tell you to keep the nausea away but I don’t. Hang in there honey, these are all part of the “baby package” and I’ve heard that once you pass the 1st trimester things will get much better. Hang in there! ((HUGS))

Image

Alwaysangel- POAS! POAS! POAS! It’s been a while to celebrate a positive hpt parade here and I can’t wait to see yours! :D I am glad you are having a ball with Levonox!

Image

Gina- Good luck with your plans dear! I hope everything goes as planned for you and you have a smooth transition to the states and get that BFP! :D

Image

Kala- I saw your DH website and you must be very proud of him! He is born champion! :D ….Wow! Your house must be enormous! I live in a 350sq ft (covered areas, plus the outdoor: garden area and swimming pool area) and I find it pretty big for me and DH but perfect for or future family  How can you have no room for another kid and toys? I must say that I was shocked! Still am!  I have 3 big, spacious bedrooms on the 1st floor, a small room that I have turned into a “sample” gym (a treadmill and elliptic) and a big attic on the 2nd floor which is DH office. The ground floor is open plan design with a big kitchen, small room with kitchenette, the billiard table area, fire place living room and tv room all in one big open space. How can 1.200sq ft not big enough? Unless you count sq ft differently in the states!  Have I told you that I am in shock?  I mean, if you tell me that you just want a bigger house because is what you’ve always wanted I can totally understand that! Good for you! …Good luck with finding your dream house honey and with everything else! :D :D :D

Image

AFM- I have an interview on Friday noon!!!! Yay!!!  I have sent my resume and cover letter to this company from 1st December! And they called me yesterday afternoon to go for an interview this Friday. I knew from an inside source that they haven’t seen anyone yet but com on! Sooo long!!!! I am telling you, these things are prettyyy slowww around here! Anyways, I am excited for the interview and I have been making my research on the company and writing down some notes etc to be prepared. I feel confident about this  Wish me luck girls! Getting this job will be my green light to start my 8th IVF! Woohoo!!! I can't wait! :D :D :D

I haven’t heard back, YET from the other jobs I’ve sent my resume and I hope I hear SOON so that I can have a couple to choose from before I get the answer from this one. it will take another week I guess, to make their decision on who to hire and is definatlly going to be a 2nd interview...with this positions they always do..

Last week I saw this vacancy at MarcusEvans Europe ltd. Mybe you girls in the states know about this. It is the kind of company that organizes summits, conferences and seminars in Europe, Asia and Middle East and they want a Media and Onsite Marketing Manager. MarcusEvans has offices and in America, Australia etc. I called this friend of mine that works there as a head of the designers team and she gave me lots of inside info. Looks like an amazing job and if I was single this would be like a dream job. Among other things, this position has to do with planning/organizing these conferences and attending them (approx 50-60 summits per year) all the summits etc take place in 5* hotels with spa privileges etc for the attendants and the marketing person (2 persons incl the one they will hire for the above position) can stay 2-3 days more if she wants to free of charge! The only bad thing is that the position requires traveling 2 sometimes 3 times a month and stay from 1 to 3 days at each country. Sometimes travel in two countries living one and fly immediately to the next. That got me and DH into thinking if this is the best for us; planning IVF and traveling all the time  …anyway, I have sent my resume and so will see how that goes and take it from there.

Last Sunday, DH, my bro, his son (my godson) and I, went to the mountains to play with the snow :D we had reached to a point and the police didn’t let anyone go higher up because of the heavy snow   We got stuck in traffic and it started snowing and it was amazing! :o  :o  It snows once a year up in the mountains and sometimes it doesn’t even snow enough to be able to ski! But this year it is absolutely beautiful! :D ...

So we were laughing in the car and got exited with snow falling and I had this urge to get out of the car and breathe oxygen. So I got out and stood in front of our car for my bro to take a picture and I started talking, in the middle of the street, in the snow, while snow falling, and acting like I was covering a story, like a reporter  I place my hand in a gesture like when you hold a microphone and I started talking and saying stuff like “..we are here in Mountain Troodos and its snowing and its amazing and blah blah blah’..” the boys in the car almost piss on them from laughing  and my brother got me on video. The cars in front of us and behind us though it was I was a real reporter and I was covering a story  then when they realized we were just having fun they were all laughing with us   It was my crazy moment and I remembered my old self, my pre-ivf self having fun and making pranks to my friends :( Oh well…The police then decided to let the 4x4 cars/SUV’s pass and so we got the green light to move up higher in the mountain. The snow got heavier and it was magical! :D I know that for some of you I might sound retard with my excitement for seeing snow but when you live in a country that 85% of the year is sunny/hot and is reaching sometimes 40 c degrees in the summer then seeing snow is like seeing a U.F.O landed in Cyprus!   You feel me right? Anyways, after seeing all that magic, we turn back and went to my cousin’s tavern in the mountains and had some local food (meze) by the fire place. It was a great weekend….can‘t wait for the next!

Sorry for my long post! I got carried away…again! :D

Baby dust to us all!!!

good news --- beta dropped to 79 (from 193 last Tuesday)

bad news -- now there is a 9x9mm empty sac in my uterus on the u/s

UUUUGGGGHHHH

They need me to come back tomorrow to talk to the doctor. After me begging for weeks to "intervene" when my beta was going up and them saying "no, it's better to wait it out" -- now THEY want to talk about intervening (nurse mentioned a hysteroscopy on the phone). UGH. At this point, I'd rather wait it out....with my history of PTL, more forced cervical dilations isn't a great idea. When my beta was going up, I wanted to. But now? Not really.

Now I'll have to be late to work AGAIN to talk to the doctor - and we most probably won't do anything.

Stressful!
8 IVF+6 FET=6 BFN+8 BFP =

-b/g twins 22w (12.09)

-mc 5wk (2.12)
-no HB at 18w (10.12)
-BO (4.13)-

WTF!!! Leora! they can't be serious! :x I am so sorry you have to go through this! this is SO frustrating! I wish things were easier for you for a change! this is SO unfair. hang in there! I wish I had the right words to say to you and make this go away :( ...How about asking your new RE's opinion? Re: Cycling In 2012 Board (formerly Fall/Winter 2011-2012)

Hi guys - sorry i've been MIA. i've just been working and taking care of a 2 year old toddler. i am not sure what's more exhausting - the workweek or the weekend. it feels like one long year with no breaks. and the 1st trimester exhaustion is not helping. luckily i have a wonderful DH that helps 50/50 every step of the way. i've also been pretty lucky with nausea - had nothing to speak of which is great. a lot of upset stomach though. but whatever, i am not complaining. i mean i am , but i shouldnt be.

my 8.5 week U/S is this friday. i hope everything is progressing well and twins have good heartbeats and measuring on time! i cant wait to find out. its not till 2pm PST.

Thank all for the positive thoughts, vibes and prayers. We really hope it gets approved! It would help if the guy would be at work to talk with him and start the process! Dh would randomly go there during the time frame they are open and he's never there! Doesn't answer the phone either. I think being the one guy there he just doesn't think he needs to come in all the time. So we emailed him yesterday and nothing yet. Kinda frustrating. I'm just ready to know if we'll just have to finish our time here or not.

Leora- I can't believe NOW they want to do that! I agree I'd just wait it out and not put your body through that.

Anton- Wow what a wait they made you go through! Glad you were called though! Whoohoo! I hope you get it so you can begin your IVF journey!!
