Kala- OMG! I am here sitting and talking with DH and I was telling him how shocked I was when you said that the size of your house was small etc and just realize that you are talking about sq ft and I am talking about sq m!!  my mind is playing tricks on me! my house in sq m is 350 (covered areas) which in sq fit is 3.767. You can imagine now how shocked I was when I thought your house was in sq m! 6000  The price you found it is amazing! you shouldn't miss this opportunity!! in Cyprus real estate prices are ridiculous! sky high figures! sky high! but if i wanted to sell my house it is estimated around $1.050K but no one would buy it right now because of the recession  and thank God I am not selling...

Sunshine1576 wrote:The best way I can explain it is...When the mother is Rh-negative and the father is Rh-positive, the fetus can inherit the Rh factor from the father. This makes the fetus Rh-positive as well. Complications arise when the fetus's blood has the Rh factor and the mother's blood does not which can cause these antibodies to fight off good cells in many cases causing a m/c. I had to go home and research this more and found out in most cases "blood type difference" can be prevented if it's caught in time w/ medication called immunoglobulin. Anyway has anyone ever heard about this?
A friend of mine had this... The mother was Rh- and the father was Rh+. In preparation for birth, she had a shot of Rhogam at about 27 weeks. From what I understand, she didn't have to have it sooner as the blood of the mother and the blood of the baby usually don't mix during pregnancy.

I had my own little scare this morning. Right after I showered I went to insert the morning Endometrin. When I pulled the applicator out, there was some bright red blood on it and also a little when I wiped. I took a few deep breaths and decided that if that's all it was, I would call the clinic when they opened. A few minutes later while preparing breakfast I felt a little gush. Ran to the bathroom - more bright red blood. On top of that, I was having a little cramping. After that I decided to call the clinic immediately. The nurse that I spoke to thought that I'd bumped my cervix while inserting the Endometrin and that caused the bleeding. She also thought I was somewhat dehydrated, causing the cramping and cervical irritation which would have further contributed to the bleeding. I've kept a close eye since, and no more fresh blood. It is getting darker and darker when I wipe, so I think it has tapered off or is done.

I had a previa and went into PTL (very late, thank goodness) with DD so bleeding especially scares me, and even more so if I've got 2 in there. DH and I were attending a newborn care class at a hospital (not the one I was scheduled to deliver at due to some class cancellations) when I was 35w5d. I already had my C-section scheduled the following week. During the class I also felt a gush (much larger) and ran to the bathroom. My underpants were soaked. I think we were lucky we were at a hospital - they admitted me immediately and I was having contractions already (that I couldn't even feel!). They held me overnight trying to stop the labor, but no luck so the following night I delivered DD at 36 weeks to the day. It was a little early for her lungs and she ended up spending 10 days in the NICU. So, long story short, any bleeding just brings back scary memories.

Gina - sending you "come home" vibes.

Lyd - you're very lucky with your DH. Mine tends to hole up with his Xbox if left to his own devices, and to top that off DD is a huge mama's girl. Good luck Friday!

Leora - sorry to hear about the sac. Is misoprostol an option for you? That's how I had my m/c, no D&C, and there was no need to wait more than 1 more period for another cycle. It's still cervical opening, but at least it's not being pried open.

anton - such a cute story about the snow. I can just picture you! If you don't want that job with MarcusEvans, can I have it? ;) Sounds very exciting, but you're right about the travel and IVF. I used to travel a lot for work prior to having DD. I just couldn't imagine doing it now and being away from her for very long. Oh, and 350 square meters is actually 3766 square feet. 1200 square feet would be about 112 square meters. Can I come live in your house? ;)

Angel - I thought about asking for that, but I figure if there's an issue I'll just need to wait for the ultrasound anyway. You're picking a good time to poas - that was the first day I got my faint BFP! Feeling hopeful for you.

Christy - the Rh factor test (just checking your blood type) is standard during a pregnancy. I don't think it tends to happen as early as we IVFers are used to being seen though. From what I know if you are Rh- you are always given the immunoglobulin. It actually makes me wonder a little if your hygienist's daughter was getting regular prenatal care. I'm Rh+ luckily, so it's not a concern for me, and I don't think it should scare you much either. Funny story - when I saw my dentist while pregnant and told him it had taken a long time to conceive, and he gravely sympathized and said that it had taken he and his wife 4 months to conceive their youngest. He's lucky he didn't get a punch in the face! And he's not my dentist anymore either.

Maria - is some Zofran in order?

Ninde - 2.5 pounds is awesome!

Christy - Like everyone else has mentioned, women are routinely tested for their Rh factor at their first OB appointment. Maternal and fetal blood do not mix early on so they do not give the medication until after 24 weeks. I too am Rh+ so I do not have to worry.

Leora - I cannot believe this!!! I do not think doctors realize how painful it is to drag things like this out. It is such a shame they would not intervene when you wanted them do. You have been on this roller coaster for too long. I can understand wanting to wait at this point - they have made you wait until now, what is their rush all of a sudden?

Anton - Congrats on the job interview!!! I am sure you will do wonderful. Good luck.

Hugs to you all. My gender ultrasound is tomorrow :)

Evening ladies

Christy: yes I have to remain professional - I've heard of horror stories about therapists who dont. Any word from hershey? Im rh- and dh is + I had a shot after my m/c. I think its only important afterfirst baby's birth or m/c but i could be wrong

Always: good luck with your poas :D

Anton: lol, I love your posts! And your weekend sounds fantastic :D

Leora: oh for goodness sake - when is this going to get easier?!

Lyd: cant wait to hear about your results
Ker: im so sorry about your scare particularly with your history. How are you doing?

Afm: hosted a graduation ceremony for my class of last year, it was really nice. 7 out of the 12 have gone on to further counselling study which is great.

Hello everyone. I am getting back up on the horse.

Maria - Congrats on twins! I hope you do ok and get better soon!

AFM - Just waiting for AW to arrive and I will start the process for another FET. Should be any day.... I have pretty much come to terms that the next 3 FET's will be a waste - due to the LAB ISSUE during my entire cycle from Retrieval to both of my transfer. We will see....so disappointed with them.

FET #3 - @ 7 weeks

I was text messaging and almost had a wreck tonight when my car did a 180 and I saw my life flash before me...my car spun and went off the road in between a speed limit sign and telephone pole. My last text message conversation was about IVF, why do I keep doing this to myself, really needing something more tangible and how chocolate effects my sugar level which puts me into this slump. I'm thanking Jesus for taking that wheel tonight, but I wanting to hear from you all...Is text messaging illegal in your state? It's not illegal here, but the more I think about it should be- especially at night. I text all the time but tonight was too close of what could of been a major fatal accident! Thankfully the road was wide open when I lost control! Anyway I must go and get myself something better for dinner. Talk more when I'm calmer and back to normal self.

It's a NO NO in Germany BUT people still do it all the time. Well I don't see many texting but just using a cell phone period. For me I don't need a law, I just don't want to cause a wreck because I'm texting. I have several friends that text, take pictures while driving. I think that's how Dh's cousin hit a pole (wasn't hurt and no once else involved) last week that total'd his car on the way to work.

It's kinda like the law on motorcycle helmets. Now it IS the law here to use them but I know in KY when we lived there for a little while, it wasn't. I don't need one to tell me to use mine.

Glad you're okay.

akdelp - welcome back! IIRC, there was a mess up at your clinic and they fessed up to messing up your embryos. You are doing more FETs rather than starting again? Hopefully these embryos are as bad as they think...

Christy - HOW SCARY! I'm glad you are okay. I don't know what exactly the law is here, but I never text while driving (and talk only with my headset on, which I know is the law here). I think it's super dangerous. I get really mad when David does it (he only uses his phone when stopped at red-lights, but I still think it's important to pay attention even then)

As for RH factor - any doctor who saw you while pregnant would test your blood type - so don't worry about that. Just ask your doctor to confirm your blood type, for peace of mind. I'm A+ and David is B+... which he says matches our personalities! (Im' a type-A person who got great grades in school -- he was more 'laid back' about studying!)

Felicia- let us know if it's a boy or a girl! So exciting! I hope everything is healthy!

Amy (kerpupples) - so scary! But as you know, probably nothing. You can't get an u/s just for peace of mind immediately? How far along are you? (TICKERS, PEOPLE! We need to be able to stalk better! :D )

Anton - yeah... the whole foot vs meter, Farenheit vs Celsius, pound vs kilo ALWAYS confuses the heck out of me! Good luck on the interview!

Lydia - feel good and updated us after tomorrow's u/s!

AFM this morning, before our appt at the IVF clinic, we stopped by the regular clinic for blood tests. The new RE wanted us to re-do some tests we haven't done in a few years (HIV, hormones for David, renal/liver for me - second set of hemotology tests for me after another miscarriage). The difference was AMAZING. We got there and were given number 79 as our turn in line. The counter was at 76... and there were 4 blood techs working! Our blood was taken within 5 min. We walked past the u/s center there, which is where I'll be doing u/s for the next IVF. They do "follicle tracking" wihtout appts from 7-9:30 (already better than the current clinic that only opens at 7:30 - I start work at 8, and there's a big difference between going at 7 and getting to work at time and 7:30 and being late). ONE PERSON IN LINE. Whooo hoooo! I'm excited for much shorter lines for bw/us on my next IVF!

We went to the current clinic -- we were there at 8am for our appt... doctor showed up at 8:45. Ugh.

He said we have 3 options:
1- waiting (and monitoring that beta falls to zero and this sac disappears)
2- diagnostic hysteroscopy
3 - surgical hysteroscopy or D&C - doing surgery 'blind'

He really doesn't recommend option #3 -- they don't know what's there and if it needs to be removed or whatever. He strongly recommended #2 -- do a diagnostic hysteroscopy. If they find nothing - wait it out. If they find something - do a surgical removal.

I'm kinda not a big fan - because that would be TWO additional procedures (the diagnosis and then the surgery. Because of my PTL/IC issues, the fewer times my cervix is forced open, the better.

I'm making an appt for a diagnostic hysteroscopy in 2 weeks (only done on Wednesdays and next Wednesday I can't). I'll go for blood work and u/s the Monday before. If the beta is much lower and the thing in my uterus is gone (or smaller), I'll cancel the hysteroscopy. If not, I'll do the hysteroscopy.

Do any of you know of a place online that has IVF medications for a discount? I've found another clinic that will be closer to where we are moving to, that is slightly more than the clinic we planned to use. The reason is because of the medications, they aren't included at this place like the other. So we are looking at a max of $3500 for them alone. This place is more ideal except the fact my son wants to visit DC where the other clinic is by. That can be done another time though since the in laws are in MD.

Anyway, the cost is close to the same even if we pay that max price for medications but cheaper is always better!!
