Nancy - I am not sure if you know my story....but we had a series of procedures always got pregnant but could never hang on to the babies. We basically gave up when we got the phone call from Emilee's (DD) birth Mom and she said she was pregnant again and did we want to adopt the baby....it took us about a second to say YES!!!!! So I feel great physically but adopting comes with its own set of worries and concerns....we feel pretty confidant but until we have her home in our house we won't breathe very easy. Ahhhh us fertility challenged ladies are a strong bunch and no one could ever say we didn't want to be parents with every fiber of our beings! Good luck at appt and keep us updated...we go on Monday for one final check and if all looks the way they want then we will schedule the induction for Friday February 3rd....Oh I just realized you get the big gender surprise on birth day! Ok so I want to guess...answer me a few questions....what was the HB rate? Are you carrying low or high? And if you put your arms at your side and then put your arms in front of you are your hands up or down

I did know your story but I had forgotten that was you. I'm sorry. I feel like a heel!!!! I do understand the concerns you have and I'll be praying for everything to go very smoothly!!!!!!!

Heart rate at Friday's u/s was 160.

I'm only 5'0" so I feel like I'm carrying everywhere. LOL I do think baby has dropped so I guess I was carrying high??? I don't know really.

Nancy - No worries don't feel like a heel! I am going to guess a girl....they say a heart rate above 140 indicates girl and I think hands up is girl and hands down is boy. So for you & my test it is 50/50! Hah! Do you have names picked out.....we are getting close....I know I will call her Olivia but we can't decide about the middle name...that is the hardest one for me I really want to honor someone in my family so my choices have been Wolfe (mothers maiden name & she is an only child) Irene Grandmother, Caroline Great Grandmother....we are leaning towards Wolfe since it will make my Mom so happy and I think it is unique and has a special meaning behind it....Olivia Wolfe Brackeen.....Kinda pretty? I don't know....torn......

No, I'm quite sure quitting smoking is harder than not finding out gender.

It really hasn't been hard once we got past the 20 week u/s. Because I'm having a singleton, we've only had that one u/s and then last week we had another to determine baby's position. As soon as I saw the u/s tech, I told her we didn't know gender and didn't want to know and that was it. If we were having lots of u/s, I think it would be harder but with just having those two, it's been easier.

This is probably our only child (unless we win the lottery)

Hello ladies, I am back from my 8 week scan and we are down to one healthy bean. Measuring ontime and with great heartbeat. It's a little bitter sweat, but we are thrilled to have one. At the end of the day all I want is one healthy baby to take home!

LYD- sorry about loosing one of the little beans, that happened to me this cycle also (Although I never saw a HB). The great news is you have a strong little one in there!!! I always have to focus on the positive like you said, makes it a little easier to swallow. Congrats on your 8 week scan! I was so happy making it to that point.

Wishing - Thanks, I think we are definitely going in that direction and are very happy with it! Naming is always the most difficult for us and we like to have it done before so we can just relax and wait for the arrival of our precious peanut.
