Hello Ladies - I just realized I don't have a diaper bag anymore not that I really need one but for the first 6 or so months there is some convenience to them especially when you are handing baby off to someone to watch. So I just ordered the Ju Ju Be Be Tween bag which is a smaller bag and a little more compact....got pretty good reviews but was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with this one or a Ju Ju Be? I would put the link but I think I remember someone getting in trouble for that so just go to amazon or diaper bags.com and search the name...I bought the black & silver one so DH is more inclined to carry it although the first one I had was pink and he carried it everywhere....now that is a real man! Hahaha

Katie- can't help you on the diaper bag. To answer your earlier question though, Evie has NOT figured out the difference between night and day yet. Now to be fair, she does well at night once she goes down. Its the going to sleep initially that is the challenge. She sleeps all the time but it seems her alert time is sometime between dinner time to 11 PM. She is very difficult to sooth and put to sleep then. Once I win that battle, she is good though. I think that she is beginning to develop her one long sleep stretch though, last night I had to wake her up for the night feeding for the first time, she had slept for almost 4 hours and I think she would have kept right on going. After that she was up every two hours and up to stay at about 7:30 A.M.

Lol on the PIBs. We live in a resort area near Mackinaw Island and call the people who invade us in the summer "fudgies." We have about 30 fudge shops in a 5 mile radius.

Ttcnb- You are doing so good mama! I know I felt much better after my beta shots so I can only imagine how you are feeling with triplets. Time has flown by, I can't believe you are 30 weeks already!

Lyd10- Bittersweet, I know. But I am thrilled your one healthy bean is doing well. Sorry for the loss of the twin, however.

tuffy- welcome back! Can't wait to hear how it went. Are you going to find out the gender?

Nancy- your names are gorgeous. I like the older/traditional names so your names definitely struck c chord with me. And as an ex-smoker I can attest, smoking would only be ever so slightly more challenging than playing on team green! :-)

Wishing- how are things going with you? Getting closer!

AFM- What a big day we are having today! First, Evie's due date was yesterday. There is something about being past that point that makes me feel better. I don't know, like it immediately made her just a little less fragile. LOL. But the best part of this weekend? DH gave Evelyn her first bottle of breast milk and it was a raging success! This also means that I left the house without her for the first time since she was conceived. I did cry...and yes I was a little jealous that she took to the bottle so quickly and well...but overall I am thrilled. I am thrilled that DH had that special time with her and even got her to sleep. He was a proud and puffed up Daddy indeed! I am also excited to have gone for a walk. Just a few more weeks and I will turn that walk into a run.

Let's just hope she still wants me for her next feeding. :-) She was satisfied and sleeping in less than 20 minutes on the bottle. That is tough to compete with to be sure!

If all goes well tonight, I am having a glass of wine tomorrow. Woot woot!

Katie -- I'm no help at all on the diaper bag thing. We have been given two. One is smaller and I can't see getting much use from it in the beginning but what do I know. LOL The other one is a skip hop duo one. Everyone oooohhhed and aaaahhhhed over it so I'm guessing it's a good one. LOL We shall see. I've had a few friends that have told me they actually like the bag the hospital gave them. I'm not going to buy one right now. I'm just going to wait and see how what I have works and then go from there. Of course, I'm just packing it for one child. That probably makes a difference.

I went to my midwife yesterday. Baby is still breech. She said there's still time for baby to turn but we need to plan for if it doesn't. If baby does not turn, then we will do a planned c-section for the due date. She said we would get that all set up at my 39 week appointment. She also said that she thinks baby is big. She estimated its weight at 7 1/2 lbs yesterday. Oh well. Time will tell. Nothing I can do about it anyway.

I'm ready to have this baby. I never ever thought I would complain about pregnancy since we had to work so hard and spend so much $$ to get to this point; however, I'm finding myself eating those words (through tears, of course) I can't sleep. It hurts to talk. I'm thinking it doesn't help that this little one's feet are kicking my cervix. My joints ache and on and on and on. I'm trying very hard to enjoy every moment but it's been harder than I ever thought it would be. Do any of y'all struggle with that?

Nancy: I was the same way with Brooke. I was happy to be pregnant but I was ready to have her. I believe that, in addition to the discomfort, there is a biological signal that causes us to want to be done being pregnant. I believe that signal prepares us for birth by replacing fear with a sense of urgency and readiness.

Barbara,

Thanks for your thoughts. It makes me feel better. Hubby and I talked tonight and we are going to discuss with the midwife that if baby is still breech at my 38 week appointment to go ahead and plan/schedule the c/s for week 39 instead of waiting until week 40. It seems to me that the liklihood of this little one turning in the last week is slim but what do I know. LOL LOL

I also spent some time looking at my 36 week u/s report. According to measurements in that u/s they would predict a due date of 2/7 instead of 2/16. Of course, having done IVF we KNOW the due date. There is no question about that but if baby is ready and will be okay, then *I* am ready. :-)

Lyd - sorry for the loss of your LO, but sounds like you have a strong bean in there -- I hope the rest of the pregnancy is uneventful.

After the first half of the 2nd trimester being pretty symptom free, I am now starting to wake up with bad swelling in my hands in the night. They are ok during the day, but Ouch!! when I first wake up. I also reached the 20 lb weight gain today at 19 weeks, which is great since with twins, 20 lbs by 20 weeks is the goal (according to some research). 20 week ultrasound is Tuesday -- can't wait to get that milestone behind me!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, but life has been very busy! I have been reading, just haven't had a chance to post.

bodie- Congrats on being halfway through your pregnancy! I'm assuming you'll be induced at 38 weeks since you've got 2 in there. Doesn't it feel great?! Sorry about the hands swelling? Have you called your OB's office? Woohoo on the 20lbs! I read on americanpregnancy.org that women pregnant w/ twins should aim for 24 lbs by the 24th week of pregnancy. "Weight gain is especially important between weeks 20 to 24 of pregnancy. If a mother of twins gains 24 pounds by the 24th week of pregnancy she reduces her chance of preterm labor. Early weight gain is also vital for the development of the placenta which aids in the passing of nutrients to the babies." I definitely reached 24 lbs by my 24th week. I'm 25w3d today & I've gained a total of about 28 lbs. I'm starting to notice that the weight gain is becoming much faster. At the pace I'm going, I'll definitely go over the 35-45 lbs weight gain that my OB recommeds for the entire pregnancy, lol! My mom gained 60 lbs when she was pregnant w/ my twin brothers.

Nancy- I hope you LO does turn, but whatever happens, I wish you a quick & easy deliver! The important part is that you & your LO are healthy!

Alisa- Yay on DH giving Evie her 1st bottle! I'm sure it must have been an emotional moment for you! Hope you get to enjoy your glass of wine today!

ttcnb- I can't believe you made it to 30 weeks...that is fantastic! My SIL had her triplet boys at 24 & 1/2 weeks 8 years ago! 30 weeks is a milestone for triplets!

Lydia- Oh sweetie...I'm so sorry! How bittersweet! Yes, let's focus on the positive...a healthy, strong LO growing & thriving!

tuffy- How was your anatomy scane? Did you find out the flavors?

Katie- Wow, a week from today, you'll be a family of 4! You must be so excited!

Felicia- Congrats on team blue!

Barbara- Yay for a boy...now you'll have 1 of each! I know you're waiting for confirmation in a few weeks, but I'm sure it's easier to guess earlier w/ a boy.

Mora- Congrats mama!!! Can't wait to see pics of Grady!

longtimerivf- Boo for still being on bed rest but yay for no changes!

JenMink- How's the 2nd trimester going?

Bonnie- Yay, you're almost in the double digits!

Yingz- Congratulations on your little girl! Looking forward to some pics.

EOE- I know missed some of you! Please know that I think of you often!

AFM- I'm doing good! I'm getting huge! I'll have to post some pics. I have an u/s & prenatal appointments scheduled for next Tuesday. We interviewed a peditrician (she is actually our triplet nephews' pediatrician) & we really liked her, so we'll be going w/ her. I have to schedule a birthing class, BFing class, & infant care class all for March. We've been slowly buying clothes, bibs, rattle toys, books, diapers, wipes, etc...I love looking at everything. My registries (BRU & Amazon) are done. My SIL said the invites will be going out next weekend. The shower will be on March 4th. The weekend after the shower, we'll be picking up the nursery furniture at IKEA & setting it all up.

 Dont you just hate it when you write a post and it erases  Let's try this again.............

Moorebaby- I cannot believe you are already 25 weeks!! It seems like you just posted at 15 weeks on this forum, time flies. I hope it flies that fast for me. As much as I love the fact that I am pregnant, I don't like being pregnant. I worry 24/7 from what I eat, how I sleep, what I lift, etc etc. It's extremely stressful to always have to worry you could hurt your baby  I will be happy once I can hold this little one and not worry about what I am putting or doing to my body.

Bodie- I am so jealous you are half through your pregnancy lol. Are you feeling a lot of movement at 19 weeks? If so is it strong enough for DH to feel?

Barbara- I am still blood free how about you? I am slowly getting used to not seeing blood in the toilet, whoooO!!! Back to wearing light colored underwear too  How are you feeling?

Bliss- I still remember you getting your BFP and I am pretty sure I remember you had a business trip right after? Glad your little bundle is here and doing fantastic. Yeah on the breast milk bottle with Daddy, that's awesome. I hear it's really iffy if the baby will take it from a bottle. Now he can get up at 2am lol =]

NancyB- Hope they agree to do a C-section at 39 weeks. I week sooner to see your little one =]

LYD- Just wanted to say again I am so sorry for the loss of your LO. Just wanted to share again that I am one of the people that has like ZERO pregnancy symptoms. I barely got sick and my (.)(.) were never sore. I guess we are just lucky! Keep the faith for that precious baby. It's your turn my friend!!

Dragondad- Havent' heard from you for a while, how are you guys doing?

I know I probably missed some of you. DH is doing our taxes so I have to give my attention to him now. We have a TON of IVF to write off so I am hoping for a nice refund.

AFM- 16 weeks tomorrow, praise GOD! I am still waiting to not feel tired. I am lazy and I am not normally a lazy person. It's actually starting to get on my nerves and I am hoping I get an energy boost soon.
I am really anxious for our 20 week scan on the 22nd of Feb. The 13 week NT scan was great and the blood tests so far have come back negative for Downs and Trisomy 18. I still need the final blood test and then of course I will breathe a sigh of relief.
Ladies, I have a REALLY crappy midwife. I had an appt on Friday and I asked basically what the risk of miscarriage was at 16 weeks. Instead of reassurig me she basically told me that the baby could still have chromosomal abnormalties and could die prior to 40 weeks... W T FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF! I almost started crying right on the table, I mean WHO THE EFFFF SAYS THAT! I know she can't say 100% that things will be fine but at least say "It's rare, less than this percentage, etc. NO, she was blunt and said because of my age (38) I am at increased risk. She said the only thing I don't need to worry about at this point is translocation??? Anyway--- I was SERIOUSLY PISSED. She has no bedside manner and I told the appt coordinator after the appt that I never want to see her again. So I am seeing my OB FT who I LOVE. I am going to tell him too how horrible she is. All I needed was a little reassurance- got nothing but stress.

OH, I started feeling the baby move about 5 days ago. It's so awesome! It's mild and feels like bubbles or a worm. I don't feel it all the time, usually only during the day when I am at my desk working =]

Anyway-- we have two names picked out so far. If it's a boy it will be : Landon If it's a girl it will be either Ireland, Ella, or Brooklyn. We are on the fence about a girls name.

Hope everybody has a great week!

Hi everyone, so sorry but I'm really not up to date with anyone here, I'm trying to catch up since I can't sleep. UGGG. Ultrasound revealed two boys! I can't believe it, I thought for sure they were girls. Looks like I will have to start shopping in the other isle in target! I am 21 weeks and already having contractions, not painful but enought to keep me up tonight. It's a little concerning but luckily my best friend is also my OB so she has calmed me down. I am just so paranoid about pre term labor.

FYI, I started swimming last week and it felt great. I didn't even feel pregnant while I was doing it and got a great work out in. Thought I would share because I've had a hard time finding a comfortable way to exercise. WIth 19 weeks to go I'm happy to have sometime I can do without feeling uncomfortable.

Hey JenMink! You are just a few weeks behind me! I feel movement, but I don't think its a lot. Its kind of sporadic and I can't tell Baby A from Baby B either yet for sure. I also usually feel them when sitting at my desk too. A few have been powerful enough to feel from the outside, but odds of it happening while my DH has his hand there are slim to none at this point. That nurse sounds like a real ass. Why is she is nurse with that lack of understanding of people. Geez. Love the names you picked!! I'm leaning towards Hadley and Harper for my girls, but still working on DH with Harper. He's doesn't think it sounds good with our last name. I don't think anything sounds good with our (his) last name, LOL.

Moorebaby - Post pics!! I feel like I am getting bigger every day!

Tuffy - great to hear from you! Two boys! How exciting :-) I know what you mean about pre-term labor. How much water are you drinking each day?

Maria - I also can't break the bond with the IVF board. :) But we don't have to, right?

Our appointment today went well...baby was tracking about 2 weeks smaller than they thought she should be but all the growth is on target so she is just going to be a petite little girl. So she is 50% effaced and 3 cm dilated and babies head is down we had originally had the induction date for February 3 but now it is officially set for February 7 at 7AM (unless of course she goes into labor earlier)!!! Can't wait to meet the little angel.....we are getting VERY excited!!!!

Nancy - If the Feb 7th date holds we could have babies the same day :-) Are you narrowing down your names more? Are you getting excited? I have to laugh because I was checking the room out and felt pretty good about it but realized I was missing a very important item.....DIAPERS!

Bodie - I love Harper & Hadley so cute!

Congrats WE on being 7 weeks! You are moving right along......how are you feeling? Morning sickness better? I cruise both boards too I can't let go after cycling with so many of them....

Tuffy4u - Congrats on the two boys!

JennMink - 16 weeks! Wow time is moving along at lightening speed......Good for you for changing your doc to the OB that you love.....we have been through enough to have a heartless person treating us. Yes of course they have to protect themselves but they do not need to be crappy about it....your baby is fine & so are all your tests have come back just fine. Cool to feel the baby move today....I played foot tag today with baby O while SS was laying on the table she kept moving her foot & I kept pushing on it and she would move and I would find it so cute.....our little game of foot tag.....

Moorebaby/Ester - I want to see a picture....I bet you are tiny and just feel huge! Anyways finding a pediatrician is key....we love ours and feel just fine asking her all our corny questions.....

So here is something cool the court date set for right after birth is February 13th....Em's court date was January 13 and my husband's (who was adopted too) court date was September 13th.....I am noticing a theme :-) so cool I guess the number 13 is a lucky number for us :-)

Katie: Wow, that's really cool about the court dates. Perhaps you can get a ring with a 13 inscribed or something like that as a sweet reminder of your three special 13s.

We: Welcome to the board! How long do you have to take the shots for the clotting issue? Do you stop when you graduate the OB?

Tuffy: Congrats on the boys! I was also surprised when the tech said that our baby was probably a boy. I had a feeling that I was having another girl.

Jen: I'm doing good and too am bleed-free. I can't believe the poor attitude of your midwife. When someone is delivering your baby, you need and have every right to have someone that is caring.

HappyBunny-thank you foe the warm welcome. I have to take the Lovenox until a few weeks before delivery and then they will switch me to Heparin Injections until delivery ad I believe I will also be on one of the two injections until a few weeks after delivery in order to prevent blood clots. So my daily injections are with me foe the long haul.
