I'm so confused and stressed.

I spoke to a family friend who is an OB in the USA -- he agrees that this diagnostic hysteroscopy is a stupid and useless idea. He said it's really not a good idea, because the fluid could push the tissue into my abdomen, which would be much harder to get out. He recommended a D&C as soon as possible.

Then I spoke to my new RE - he recommends waiting a bit longer, because my beta is so low and continuing to fall.

So I cancelled the diagnostic hysteroscopy. I'll go for another SnS next Monday. Then we'll see...

We leave for vacation in 10 days. No way is this over before that. Which means we definitely can't start again when we get back... at least a week or two after that...

Leorira-I agree with your friend. I would definantely have a D&C and not the hysteroscopy. I pray that this is over for you very soon.

I am so sorry honey! I wish I could give you the answers you need! That is really a tough one ((HUGS)) a silly question...are you sure cancelling HS is not going to make things worse? what if its "urgent" for you to have it prior to your vacation? i don't know you should think "first" what is best for you, for your health and then the other what if's. so the new RE suggest that you wait...and then what? if beta gets to zero then the fluid dissapears? if yes then this is fantastic but if beta #'s are irrelevant with the fluid, then what is his suggestion for the fluid? i don't get it. the OB friend suggest a D&C asap ...if this is SO urgent then you should do this "yesterday" sort of speak! if he thinks this is an asap situation then I wouldnt risk going on vacation without having the D&C first. Oh!I wish I could help you figure this out! this is so unfair for you.. ((hugs))

AFM- Taxes are back!! So we are only $2k short of paying for IVF! Now if we can just leave Germany! lol.

I have a weight loss question. I really need a good jump start! I've falling off the wagon! I've been doing horribly and eating JUST BECAUSE and feeling like crap afterwards. I have to STOP this ASAP!! Any tips?

Anton, I read your post and thought what a wonderfully honest, sensitive and courageous woman you are. I admire your amazing tenacity in terms of pursuing your ivfs, I cant imagine the pain of all the bfns you have had. Your capacity to motivate others and stay strong with all of your pain is a huge strength x

Adkelp: wow, your ohs sounds just awful. I really hope your frosties wernt compromised

Always: im really sorry, if things wernt hard enough the possibility of an ectopic is awful. How are you feeling physically?

Blue; we use both imperial and metric. Im 5ft 8.5 inches and thanks, now i understand about thr e protein. Do you find the protein drinks are good? I've just read your post, how are you feeling? Congrats on being pupo

Leora: this is ridiculous, heat is going on with this re that he just wants to wait? And i know its not what you want to hear but seriously i think let your body heal a bit before you try again. At least if you have your holiday and then a couple of weeks before you start again then your body stands a chance of healing from some of this physical trauma - and that is what it is, trauma.

Afm; just heading to bed. Af due tomorrow and that means I start the down reg cycle in 21 days. Im not at my target weight. I've lost nearly three kilos or 6lbs with the same to go but strictly speaking I have until the injections start which is around march 15 so im hoping to get there. Out to dinner with friends we met from the adoption course on sat and then im god mother at a christening on sunday so more food. But I'll try. Its strange to be starting again. It was back in oct I miscarried so it will have been nearly 5 months of a break. Like christy I am hoping for some frosties as back up. I really dont think i would be as calm about this if I didnt have you wonderful ladies.

Ninde-thank you a's always for checking up in me. I felt a little better on Saturday, not so great in Sunday, and horrible yesterday. I am still extremely nauseous and everytime time I eat I feel like the food is stuck and not being digested. I'm still having intermittent bleeding. Anywhere from red to dark brown. I'm trying not to worry since I have quite a wait for my next u/s which will be late next week. Congratulations on your weight loss. 6 lbs is great!!!

Alwaysangel-I really don't have experience with what your going through but I really hope someone on this board can help. I pray that this resolves itself soon and you can move on. I'm keeping you in my prayers.

Gina-great news on the taxes. You are well on your way to having your cycle. Woohoo!!!

Honestly feeling like crap tonight, AF is kicking my butt along with the early morning graveyard shifts...just wanta sleep until next week, and one of my closest dreamt last night that I told her I was pregnant. I just want to ask why all the dreaming, when is it going to be real? I'm so tired, anything I further say prob won't do any good...

Lydia - yay! I'm so happy the little one is still doing well. I've heard that after 10 weeks, the odds of loss go down to 10% of your age - for example, I'm 25, so 2.5% - meaning there is an over 95% chance you'll bring this little one home with you!

Antonia - nothing is "urgent" - I'm in no danger of anything. I just want this to end! The doctor who recommnded the D&C said to do it as soon as possible, just because there is no reason to wait any longer. For now, we're waiting.

And I meant absolutely no offence. No one can possibly compare our situations. 8 IVFs with no answers is incredibly hard. Completely different than what I'm dealing with because at least I know that I can get pregnant and I've had the chance to hold my babies, even if only for a few moments. I'm so sorry you still have no answers

Gina - hurray! Are you going to look for a shared-risk program (like Christy's IVF Attain) so that you can pay for multiple cycles upfront, but are guarunteed money back if you don't have a baby? That's what we would try to do if we didn't have money for mulitple cycles.

Nicole - HURRAY! That's great news! I'm so excited for you, PUPO! POAS plans?

Patricia - as always, waiting to let my body heal might make sense, but emotionally is waaaay too hard for me. Unless there is a direct medical reason to wait, I can't STAND waiting. I've been pregnant 62 weeks in the last 3 years - so my body needs to recover even just from that. But I don't want to wait. I know an extra month or two isn't a lot in the long run, but I can't tolerate even that.

I hope Af shows up on time so your cycle is on track. How much weight have you lost total? I'm impressed, whatever it is! I've gotten fatter and fatter - and when I'm depressed I eat, and then getting fatter makes me more depressed.

Maria - sorry you are nasueated - but I'm sure it's great reassurance that the babies are doing fine. When is your next u/s?

Christy - sorry hon. I hate AF too -- What a mess, and just uncomfortable, and the emotional crap -- ugh.

AFM - just plugging away at life...

I've accepted that this damned miscarriage will drag out past our vacation. We won't be starting again as soon as we get back. Hopefully by mid-March.

Hopefully the blood test next week is good too. I don't want surgery a few days before vacation.

D and I are just so worn out and broken. I really hope this helps us re-charge. Our relationship is strained -- both of us feel like zombies. We are just bumping into each other, instead of connecting. And both of us are so worn out emotionally, that we don't have the strength to reach out to each other. We have an appt with our therapist before we leave -- hopefully she'll have some advice for us to feel closer and more human...

I had my egg retrieval yesterday, 10 eggs were retrieved. Had a lot of bloating and gas pressure and some mild cramping. The doctor just called a few minutes ago to let us know that 9 were mature and eight were fertilized, so we are waiting to see if we will transfer on Friday or Sunday. He will call Friday AM with another update as to what we need to do.
It is very exciting, just always something to think about with the next step....so emotionally draining...
