Level 2 Ultrasound this morning

Post by DMOYER »

Hi Girls!!

This morning I have my level 2 ultrasound. I am now 18 weeks with identical girls and feel great. I know they will check all the organs, etc. at this appointment. Any other input from others would be great!

Thanks,
Denise :D :D

Sorry not around - hope alll went well. Yes they check major organs - not sure if they can do kidneys at 18 weeks though - can't always and can check heart valves but now always the flow - more often than not at 20.
Actually totally ignore that they can check everything - I had most things done at 16wks and then the last couple of things at 20. They will also check growth and blood flow etc. How exciting.

Let us know

Thanks Dagny, Tracey and Caz.....thank God all went well today. Baby A is measuring 8 ounces and B is 7 ounces. They said that was right on track. We saw the four heart chambers on both girls, blood flow, brain, stomach, fingers, etc. They took all measurements and I go back on the 4th of Aug. to them (peri). My doctor said then they will do more detailed measurements and check the hearts better as more will be developed at 22 weeks. The girls were head to head, looking at each other, only separated by a very thin membrane. They are so close together in there, it made me shed many tears (of happiness). Of course my doctor said that they can't see everything with ultrasound, but there are certain checkpoints they need to make - and all looked well today!!

Thank you for all of your support!!

Dagny - you keep up the P.M.A.....I hope you are feeling better today!!

Hi Denise

Thats wonderful news. I am so glad all is well with your girls. Have you thought of any names yet??? I'm just being nosey as usual

I had a better night last night but still have the pains on and off. It's getting really annoying now.

Take care

Thanks Dagny and Tracey...

Tracey - is it your b day today?? 7/15??? If so, Happy Birthday to you!!
Thanks for the well wishes....yes, the worrying never stops, does it? It seems like you make it to a certain point and then just wait till the next scan. My doc said, "You know, ultrasounds are not 100%"..just something else to think about. But that is the perinatalogists office, and they just check everything, every visit...anyhow...

names......yes, My DH and I are on different spectrums...I call them Maci Catherine and Madison Celeste or AKA Maci and Madi.... My DH calls them Katie and Samantha...Recently he agreed to Madison, but said Maci was not a name! So then I said ok, how about Madison and Mackensie....so that is where we are at....

Dagny - I hope you are feeling better today!!!!!

Have a great day!! Today the sun is shining after four days of rain this week, and I just returned home from the beach!!

Great of them to let you know they are not 100% on scans - always reassuring  You have picked great names but I can see a compromise coming!

Send over some sunshine - we are having a washout summer this year - has rained the last 4 wks pretty much :(

Take it eas

Hi Denise

Love the names :D Both yours and DH's.

Can I just say though having 2 kids with exactly the same initials (especially with 2nd name initials too) will make it a nightmare when they start getting post!!!

I looked after 2 girls - Alice and Amy and the fights were absolutely terrible.

Just a thought, but don't dismiss it as girl fights can get pretty ugly.

Thanks Dagny - I did think about that - naming them the same first initital and now middle name too. Catherine and Celeste are my grandmothers' names, so I wanted to use those for their middle names....we will see with the first names. A lot of books say not to do that either as they need to have their own identity...A lot of names remind me of former students (some not good) as I have taught over 300 kids in ten years....

We do have some time and will think it through!!!

Have a great weekend!
