Hello Ghost and everyone,
im on a fresh ivf cycle and today is my trigger day , my endometrial thickness today was 8mm and i should trigger tonight,
can u please tell me if 8 mm is good/enough? or what should it be at this point? and will it grow more now after i stopped stim meds or no?? (yesterday was my last shot of fsh) ??? transfer should be this saturday.
and one more question, if the lining were still 8 mm on ET day is it better to transfer 1 embryo instead of 2 or 3 or the number of transferred embryos doesnt have to do with the endo. thickness ???

It may thicken a little more. We like to see at least 8mm on trigger day, but a little more is even better.
The number to transfer is an interesting question. You seem to suggest that you would transfer fewer if the endometrium was suspect, and save the rest for later? That sounds very logical.

thanks a lot for ur reply.
well yeah, leaving the others for another transfer might be a wise option,, but i wanted to ask u about this cycle, i meant if the endometrial thickness was still 8 mm on ET day is it better to transfer only one so it could have better chance to attach rather than transferring 2 or 3 ?? or the number of tranferred embryos doesnt have anything to do with the attachment success rates in the case of endo thickness ?
Just chiming in here. On my fresh cycle in 2009, they could not get my lining to an 8. They got it to 7 something and went ahead with the day 5 transfer of 2 embies. It worked. They did adjust my meds for my FET and got my lining up above 8, and we had another successful transfer. Best of luck to you!!!

The more you transfer, the greater the chance that at least one will be viable and will implant. However, if the uterus is questionable, you might be wasting them. On top of that, you really only want one to implant. Those are the factors to balance. I can't tell you the right answer for your case, but I like the SART/ASRM guidelines for the number to transfer.

I remember that on my FET (when I finally had my little boy) my lining was at an 8 at my last visit. The transfer was a couple days later. Not sure how the FET compares to the IVF (as far as the meds you were on). Good luck to you!!!
