Hello.. thanks for taking the time to read this. I am on my 1st ivf cycle and had my egg pick up today. I have just found out that i have balanced translocation and will need PGD. Has anyone had this too? my doctor told me it is 3% of couples, so i would love to hear if anyone else does too..
we are planning to freeze this cycle and test a new batch once the 'work up' has been done.
My partner and I are both 31 and had been classed as having 'unexplained infertility' until now. We only asked for the genetics test as my girlfriend just had a baby born with extra chromosone 21.
Any news on anyone experiencing unbalanced translocations or any info regarding the above would be so much help to us.. feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed by wiki-pedia.

i am requesting you to let us know if you had successful pregnancy with the translocation? our story is same as yours.
We are an unfortunate couple (31f, 31m). I had two MC’s (Mar-11 and June-11) à my husband was detected with balanced chromosome translocation (2, 11) à we have had 3 doses of Clomid & 2 doses of Femara, no success till date. Doc says about two options now – (1) IUI with FSH (2) IVF with PGD. We are going for option (1) before finally deciding on (2). So my qns are ---
a) Side-effects of FSH injection?
b) Seeking success stories of IVF with PGD?
c) Most important --- We want to communicate with some couple who had already undergone IVF. So it would be helpful if you could kindly get in touch, even if you do not want to reveal your true identity. Hope you understand.
