Leora- I'll be praying for Alissa. I can't imagine the pain of going through that. It's almost as painful for you because it brings back those memories and you have the most empathy of anyone. I'm so sorry she is going through that.

Sunshine- Sorry about the cramping! I hear ya. Mine has been non-stop through this whole cycle. I'm waiting for AF and she's on her way. Light spotting started tonight.

Ninde- I wouldn't lift while stimming. There is a risk to your ovaries so I would imagine you dr would say no. Honestly, I wouldn't have felt like it. I didn't have any energy to get through my day.

Globe- Welcome. The shots are nothing. You will get through them. I can understand your fear but you will be a pro in no time. I don't really have a fear so that isn't a problem for me. I could probably draw my own blood at this point. Good luck with work. I'm not going to go for another round until summer because of that. I am a speech language pathologist in the schools, so when I'm gone the kids don't get service.

Sorry for not writing more tonight. I need to head to bed. I'm doing surprisingly well following this disastrous cycle. I'm disappointed and sad to add to my miscarriage list, but I think I knew deep down. I can be grateful that we weren't blindsided this time like we were with the last one. We knew things weren't going well.

Our anniversary celebrations were nice. DH couldn't wait to give gifts so as soon as he got home Friday after work he made us do it. I totally wasn't ready, but it worked. I got him personalized coffee mugs with the Chinese love symbol and our names etched it them. I also got personalized pillow cases that have adorable little cartoons of the man on his who is holding a key and then a female on mine who is holding the lock on a heart. They are connected by little red hearts (not literally connected). They are cute. I also gave him a gift card to Apple to add to the one I gave him for Christmas. He wants to upgrade his iPad.

He gave me a beautiful pearl necklace. We spent the weekend celebrating. We went to the Cheesecake Factory Friday night. Saturday we went to the Experience Music Project museum in Seattle. It was fun. They have the Avatar exhibit and a horror movie exhibit that is lots of fun. We got to make videos just like Avatar and we got to go in the Scream booth. I'll post pics of the scream booth later.

Today we had our long run. He let me sleep in, I made pancakes and eggs for breakfast, and then we went out to the trail. I did 11 miles and it was great. I set another personal best. We have our half marathon next saturday and I feel like we will do well.

Off to bed. My legs are tired and this week is going to be a long one. My graduate student clinician will be with me MWF instead of just Wed. Tata for now.

Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days. I was really trying to relax this weekend. Since the last time I posted, I had a bit of additional bleeding, buy not much. Then I had no more bleeding 1/2 of Saturday and all of Sunday. I did, however have a tiny bit of spotting this morning, but very little. We have our 12 week u/s tomorrow at 1:30pm and then a follow up appt with the OB immediately following the u/s. Otherwise, I doing fairly well. Still feeling a bit nauseous at times. Mostly now in the early morning hours. Also I'm having some discomfort on my left side and sometimes way down below. I think it's just the positioning of the babies. Ita amazing the difference in symptoms with two babies!!! Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. Sending you all my love.

Leora-please let Rosie know that she is in my thoughts and prayers.

Quick question here.....I emailed another clinic but from what my husband says, it isn't too safe for us to go there. Anyway, they said (I had to fill out something online that gave them lots of info about my infertility to give me a closer estimate which was cool) because of my age...turned 36 today (LMAO I just asked DH my age, been saying 36 forever so I really didn't turn a year older then  ) I would need ICSI. I thought that was usually done if husbands sperm count, motility etc...wasn't good or I'm a completely wrong? That is so risky with just using a single sperm?

Gina,
To answer your question, icsi is used most often when the sperm count is low. After carefully inspecting each swimmer, they inject the best quality one straight into the egg and fertilization begins. My brother and his wife did icsi and today they're holding their 15 month old son. Icsis gives us a greater chance of that miracle happening so you don't feel like you're throwing darts in the dark. lol someone else could of explained this better but that's my perspective on the whole thing. :D

Leora,
I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie, we're all keeping her in our prayers here. Keep us posted too. x

Patricia,
Thank you for being so caring and thoughtful, you make a fine therapist. :D I'm counting down with you....with 3 weeks exactly until your transfer. So exciting that it's almost here!

Maria,
So glad the bleeding has slacked off, may the rest of the way be uneventful and those twins keep growing so strongly and make Mama proud! :D Congratulations on reaching that milestone girl, with officially passing the first trimester!

Nicole,
Wow 11 miles, I would of gotten winded after 500 yards...lol that's a marathon to me! You are so strong-minded and truly believe you will go very far too in this journey! Oh delicis, the Cheesecake Factory sounds incredible, much better then freezer burned wedding cake. I'm glad you and dh had a nice first anniversary, and did you wear the new pink dress?

Sorry, I've been lacking in personals..feeling better then last night but this morning my lower abdomen is on fire and upset stomach. This afternoon, my best friend from Alabama is calling me back with more information on adoption. I know I would want to go through Florida first and looking at a closed adoption, but need more referrals on good agencies down here. In the meantime, wanting to get started on our LifeBook while waiting for IVF to kick off in May... More glad to personally know someone who has already been through the whole adoption process, it's always helpful. :D

Thank you Christy for the birthday wishes! :) I had a wonderful day with DH then with them both once DS got home. It was really nice. My Birthday gift is coming, had to be ordered so hopefully not too long!

That's what I thought the icsi was for with low sperm count. However DH's was fine last time but of course things change but I didn't tell them how it was, so giving me that just because of my age is strange to me. Hmm..Your description is how I took it too! :)

Sorry you are in so much pain, but yAy for starting IVF in May! It will be here before you know it! I hope it works for y'all too! I hope you find some good adoption agencies to look into. It sounds promising.

Patricia- I do lift, but I did not exercise during stimming. I really could only work 3-4 hours because the fatigue about killed me. The stimming really did a number on my MS and I actually fell while walking my dog. I was so uncomfortable towards the end that I could hardly sit right much less work out. I don't do a lot of heavy lifting now. My trainer has me doing body weight exercises, stabilizer exercises, and crossfit style exercises. I do squats while on a bosu ball sometimes with a bar and sometimes not, lunges with a bar, and I can leg press 300 pounds. I'm finding that the core work and total body conditioning are much more beneficial to my running that the individual lifting. I'll probably start more lifting now that the pregnancy is over.

Kynlee- Congrats on the transfer.

Gina- Happy Birthday.

Christy- My AF is full force today and it sucks! I hope you feel better soon. And yes, I did wear the pink dress. I even already had some awesome matching shoes. It was very nice.

Christy - it's funny, I don't even feel like I'm crashing here. It just seemed like a natural place to stay since I've gotten so much support. We've all been where you still are, and I'm glad to know that it helps you to see that it can happen. I suffered my own m/c while trying for DD so I know what the loss feels like too, and hope it helps to see you can move past that sort of pain as well.

Kynlee - DD is from a 3 day transfer! And don't worry too much about having only 7 cell embryos. They froze DD on day 3 when she was only 6 cells. Try not to go too crazy during your 2ww. Will you POAS?

Globe - welcome! I had a fear of needles prior to starting IVF, but between all the injections and blood draws I can honestly say it is gone. I can even watch when my blood is drawn now. I remember I had to give myself my very first injection ever (Lupron) in an airport bathroom. I was SOOOOO nervous but it turned out to be a piece of cake. I'll throw out a different recommendation than ice for the intramuscular injections - heat afterwards. I found that helped keeped the knots at bay.

Patricia - I think during my cycle with DD I continued to lift weights through stimming, but for this one I did not. I suspect that things like leg curls/extensions, pulldowns, arm curls etc. are fine. Probably want to avoid things like squats and lunges though, as well as anything that has you twist your abdomen. Hope those headaches haven't come on yet.

Leora - as of right now I really don't feel confident coming off the Prozac. We'll see if that changes in the next month or two. That definitely sounds like ovulation pain to me. I saw your post on FB about the water breaking - I had no idea that you were talking about our Rosie. She's in my thoughts and prayers. Do you know which route she's decided to take? I had a friend who had to stay in the hospital when her water broke but it was a singleton and she was 35 weeks along. She went into labor a week later in the hospital anyway.

Nicole - sounds like you had a lovely anniversary. I'm glad you have your run to focus on to help take your mind off the m/c.

Maria - I hear you on the difference in symptoms with two. I'll be watching for your u/s results tomorrow. Are they doing nuchal measurements?

Gina - We've always had ICSI due to DH's low counts. Yes, it is just one swimmer per egg, but you're certain it will find its target. Our fert rates have always been high.

AFM - doing pretty well. After not drinking all week, DH gave himself a setback and drank Friday night. I didn't react very well and it caused a bit of a row, but he apologized and has been going to AA meetings every day since. I'm starting to get sharp round ligament pains if I roll over in my sleep. Does anyone know how long you can safely sleep on your back with twins? I suspect I'm already past that point, which is a bummer as my hips have just started to hurt when I sleep on my side. I guess it's time to sleep with a pillow between my knees.

Leora - hoping for the best for Rosie. Someone on the babycenter boards had her water break at 21 weeks and she has been in the hospital since, now at 25 weeks and holding. I hope the same for Rosie.
