Sunshine1576 - Sounds like a good idea. There must be a lot of schools or colleges for your DH to apply?

Ninde - I am sorry the bleeding haven't stopped. I am not an expert but it does seem odd.

AFM- We triggered last night. In addition, they wanted me to do a follistim shot (450 units! This is HUGE for me, I was 75!).

Question: Does your DH go in the room with you for the transfer? Based on the instructions I was provided, it sounds like it. I never want him to come with me for regular ultrasound, just not comfortable with it. What is everyone doing?

Evening ladies

Maria: thank you so much, I appreciate your warmth and kindness hugely.have you any idea how heavy the bleeding can be for the progesterone? This is genuinely heavy.

Christy: thank you too. Im confused because of the progesterone too.

Cyn: I hope you were ok with your family, I know that's tough. And i hope af stops for you soon, you sound in agony. I was actually 8dp2day transfer rather than a 5 day transfer. What is amazing me is how heavy this bleeding is given im still on full progesterone support, its full blown period. And it hurts!!

Globe: not only does my clinic suggest it, they insist that dh is with me for transfer. Good luck with your er.

Afm: my dad and go mother came for lunch and have just left 5 hours later! But it was very pleasant. Just taking it easy now because my tummy hurts!!

Ninde

Ninde,
How are you feeling now, hopefully your tummy has settled down. I'm glad you got to spend some time with your dad this afternoon. I know any distraction is good right now, pray more then anything the bleeding stops and you can go in on Wednesday with better news. I will keep checking in on you.

More personals to come, I know I missed alot over the weekend with my mom visiting. Dh decided to listen to me that 6 months won't make that much of a difference and we can still try naturally, maybe it's crazy but I'm not that upset over this. I really feel God is leading us in a different direction and maybe good things will happen to those who "try" to remain patient, (emphasis on try)! I hope everyone is enjoying some time with their loved ones today, dh are taking the boat out to Shell Island later on this afternoon, maybe it will give us a chance to de-stress.

Globetrotter - like Ninde, my clinic really encourages DH to be there for the transfer and retrieval. My DH was really into all of my cycles so he didnt miss anything unless he had to be away for work. The transfer is really an intimate moment when you think that is when your baby come home and just sharing that with your spouse is amazing ... My clinic has a big monitor where you and DH can watch as they transfer the embryos. I imagine if you really don't want him there that would be fine as well, but most clinics like the couple to be there together.

DH - 39

Globetrotter - I hope your ER goes really well today! DH never came to any of my u/s for the IVF, and he missed my first transfer (because he was in basic training -- he got the day off to come to ER, when I would be in surgery and he needed to provide his half). The first time he saw a TVUS was when I was 5.5 weeks pregnant -- he was told it would be an u/s and I guess he expected an abdominal one. Well, we went into the IVF clinic, and into the u/s room. I said good morning to the tech (who I knew from all the stimming u/s) and dropped my pants. I climbed up and put my feet in the stirrups. The tech slid a condom on the 'dildo cam' and put it in. I think DH's jaw dropped to the floor

More seriously, my DH has come to about half of my transfers (mostly he didn't make some because of work schedules - especially when he had missed work a few days earlier for the ER). Like I said for birth as well, I want DH to be there, but at the 'head' part. He can stand near your head, and he won't see anything. (Granted, my DH decided that once he wanted to watch the actual transfer from the 'business end'... but he hasn't done that again! :D )

I've never heard of taking such a big follistim injection after triggering! I'm usually told to take a half dose of the stims (Follistim or Menopur or whatever) and a Ganirelix at around 1pm and then trigger around 8pm. Weird.

Julia - another beta today! Yay! No pics of the HPT for those of us who live for that?

Patricia - WTF? I've never heard of someone getting a period so early into the 2ww. Weird. Very weird. I have to say, that as you probably think too, I doubt this is a good sign. But it's definitely weird. Good luck POAS. Are you going to wait until Wednesday?

Christy - I'm glad the visit with your mom was good. I miss mine! Funny how whenever we are together, we fight, but when we are 6,000 miles apart, we miss each other! I'm so sorry you are stuck in this stupid position. It's so hard to take such a huge loan without being secure career wise, especially when the IVF isn't a guaranteed thing. (I know a bunch of people do adoption instead of IVF because it *is* guaranteed -- you do always end with a child.) I wish I could help out! I wish I had a million dollars so I could pay for all of y'alls IVFs and none of you would have to worry about finances.

Cyn- betas are weird. Under 5 is definitely not pregnant, but only above 25 is considered pregnant. Between 25-5 is normal variant. It's doubtful that you got pregnant and lost it, your beta would have been higher. Sorry. FETs are MUCH easier physically - I hope you get the green light to do it soon!

AFM - Last BCP tonight!

I'm starting to worry. I know the most likely outcome is BFN, and that is soooo crushing. But I'm also terrified about a BFP.

Gah!

In other news - it seems the working out and dieting is working. My weekly weigh in shows I lost 1/2 kilo (about a lb). This is week 3, but week 2 didn't show any weight loss. I'm pretty psyched and it's really encouraging. My trainer says not to get too excited about the weight loss, because then in weeks when I don't lose, I'll get bummed - but I'm still psyched!

I've gained about 8 kg (about 17 lbs) since losing the boys this summer. I really want to take that weight off, and then more.

Morning ladies

Christy; thank you x I think what helped most at mass yesterday (when I had stopped crying!) Was being able to sing, like many of the ladies here im a trained singer and sang professionally for a while. But nothing moves me like church music for so e reason and I wasnt expecting music at our 9am mass yesterday. It was the two guys singing and playing guitar that I really like. How are you and how is your dh?

Nicole, you are a pet, thank you for the hug

Leora: strictly speaking my beta is wed but they have told me to wait until wed to poas and then phone so I'll do that. I could be wrong but i think this progesterone wasnt strong enough to hold either the pregnancy or at least until close to the end or the end of the 2ww? Are you enjoying the training?

Afm: this bleeding just wont stop!!!!

Leora- i'm not at all sure how to upload pics here or I would post the hpt! Those directions say wait 2 minutes and i'm telling you it wasn't 10 seconds and the plus sign was already forming! So encouraging. I'm petrified that this is a chemical pregnancy or something. I kept thinking they got my results mixed up with someone else lol. I don't think there's ever a point where we can just relax in this jacked up journey. So frustrating. Woohoo on last bcp! So exciting! Praying for you.

Ninde- You have been on my mind constantly. I'm so hoping for some great news and peace for you. I hope you are better today emotionally and physically! Thinking of you..

Globetrotter-praying for a great er for you and an easy recovery! Keep us posted.

Cyn-how are you?

Julia, I'm sorry I never went back to read the previous pages with everything going on but I wanted to tell you CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP! Never underestimate the power of prayer, I really believe this is your time so I will keep on praying. I know it's hard not to worry but you have made it this far and I really believe our rainbow babies are coming home, May this be your time!

Leora, you are so generous AND YES I wish none of us had to finance IVF, what a crazy journey this really is! Dh said he still wants to go through IVF and we agreed to wait until July now to re-assess where we are with our situation. Me on the other hand is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready to adopt! But we have to be on the same page and obviously dh is not letting me give up. My mom called me this morning reassuring me she didn't tell her sister what's going on (I had asked her not to, don't want the entire extended family finding out!) She said my aunts are wanting to come visit me next month but I really don't know if dh is up to having much company right now. It's a tough position to be in right now, and I'm trying to stay strong, I really am. My mom shared with me a couple who is adopting a 2 yr old from Africa and just when they find out the adoption is coming together they find out they are pregnant.

I called my clinic this morning left a voicemail to share our unfortunate news. Don't really know what they can do at this point but we had already done ALL the bloodwork for the Attain program and I know all that bloodwork along with dh's backup S/A is only good for 6 months ugh so frustrating! So maybe this explains why I want to move on? I'm mostly exhausted from this rollercoaster willing to adopt any orphan but when I ask dh about how I thought he was open to adoption, he now tells me we aren't there yet. So now he's not happy with me because I'm looking at a full-time position at work and he knows I can be a workoholic pouring my heart into work but I need this distraction right now. He just doesn't want us to give up on our family, while I feel like I'm in limbo.

Ninde, I agree with you I don't think the progesterone was strong enough, otherwise you wouldn't be bleeding so much. But I'm keeping you in my prayers that God lifts you up, holding you strong determined to fight this. x

AFM: Feeling much rested at least for now, working five days straight should be my biggest distraction.

Quick crash for me.

Julia - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! A big strong beta like that is supposed to be a very good sign.

Patricia - so sorry to hear about your bleeding. Your theory about the progesterone not being strong enough seems valid, but I'm holding out hope for you. I know that during my bleeding episodes my clinic said that bleeding using the Endometrin was pretty common, and instructed me not to insert the applicator so far that the suppository would bump my cervix.

Leora - hooray for the weight loss and for the last BCP! I'll be pulling for you this cycle.

Hi all

Christy- thank you! No need to apologize at all. You have a lot going on and I totally understand that. I appreciate your prayers more than you know.

Kerpupples- thank you, i'm very cautiously excited lol. I'm hoping a big number like that its indeed a good sign but you hear so many things on the crazy journey, you know?

Ninde- really pulling for you. I so want this to work out well for you and Dh. You have been on my mind all day.

Afm- went to the clinic this morning to have my second beta. Still waiting on the results of that. I spoke to one of threw nurses I really like and she said my first number was really good, and to Hope for the best. She said they never guarantee anything but with a number like my first she feels really good about it. This waiting is bs, lol. I'm so expecting a negative outcome and i'm stick of feeling like that. So scared to get my hopes up :(

Interesting about dh attendance at various ivf events. My dh is present at transfer, in my recovery room at retrieval, and at some u/s if I ask him to. They don't let him go back for retrieval. I don't know if he would want to be in the surgery room for retrieval if they let him.

Good luck Julia. I'm rooting for a huge beta today.

Still thinking of you Patricia. The bleeding certainly is strange and not a good sign. I'm hopeful for a miracle.

Leora, I say celebrate every pound! Stop worrying about bfn! Easier said than done I know, but you have barely started! Silly

Afm, my itching is much better. I have a few spots that still itch but I feel so much better. Whew. Only 26 days until my next half marathon and I lost two weeks of good training to this damn disease and random complications. I don't have high hopes for reaching my goal time. Time will tell. I was celebrating last night about coming out of my exacerbation and shouting FU MS in my head. Oh the things we do.

Tata for now. I'm supposed to be working.

Hi everyone, just a quick update on my ER...

I am crampy but doing OK overall. They retrieved 18 eggs. You know the drill. They will call tomorrow to tell me how many fertilized and Thursday morning to confirm a 3-day transfer or reschedule to Saturday for a 5-day transfer. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
