We decided to take a one month break after our last miscarraige finally cleared up. I started a pack of BCP so I could control when I would get my next period (I'm PCO and anovulatory).

I always always always get AF 4 days after stopping the active pills. I took 25 days of active pills. I took a pill Monday, but did not take one on Tuesday. I was expecting AF on Friday. I usually get cramping and bloating the day before. Now it's Sunday morning, and still NOTHING.

I'm going to call my doctor later today to see what to do.

Can I start a fresh cycle without getting a period? What if I go for a baseline and my lining is thin and my hormone levels low?

Do I have to do Provera or something to get a period first?

Why would I not get a period after taking BCP?

I don't know what your clinic requires. Mine requires a period before the cycle so that the previous lining will be shed and a new one will be formed for the new cycle. Whether progestins are needed is up to your doctor, but they are one of his options. Your clinic may tell you to just be patient a little longer.

I don't know the reason why, but it seems many women who had regular periods are not regular for a month or two after an IVF cycle or a miscarriage. Many have said so here over the years.

I never ever have regular periods.

After the surgical hysteroscopy to remove the residua left after my miscarriage, I did ovulate (really unusual for me) and got a period 14 days after ovulation. The day I started my period, I started the BCP. After 25 "active" pills, I'm now not getting a period.

I thought taking BCP meant that you would definitely have "withdrawal" bleeding when you stop them?

I really don't want to wait this out....

RE asked me to do bloodwork (e2, LH, progesterone, beta-HCG) and an u/s tomorrow to see if we can figure out what's going on...

well, of course - as these things always go -- a few hours after I called my RE - AF showed up.

He had scheduled me for bw/us for this morning - and I couldn't reach him to ask if I should still go on CD1 (I usually do baseline on CD3 and start stims). I decided to go anyway this morning for my baseline. As far as I can tell, things look good (lining is 4mm, e2 is <70, LH is 5miu/ml and progesterone is 2.3 nmol/l) --- I'm waiting for him to call me back so we can discuss.

I'm doing an antagonist cycle (start stims, then add Ganirelix). Do you think I'll be able to start stims today? Or I'll have to wait until CD3? (If I have to wait, I hope I don't have to do another baseline!)
