Ghost or anyone else: rapidly rising beta

Post by Tess69 »

Hi there

MY first beta at 16dpo was 237 and my 2nd at 20dpo = 2607. Doubling time is 27.75 hours. I had two 5-day embies transferred.

At first I was hugely relieved to NOT have a slow rising beta but now I'm worried that it might be a molar pregnancy. I have another bloodtest in a weeks time and a scan in two and a half week.

Would really appreciate your comments, especially if youve had a similar experience. I'm a bit of a 'freak out' machine when it comes to IVF now.

wendy -CONGRATS! I had no idea you were cycling now!

Those numbers sound fine. I've only ever had a single beta draw, so I don't know much about doubling times, but I was under the impression that doubling (or rising 60%) within 24-48 hours was normal.

I wouldn't worry too much. When is your next beta/scan?

Hi Leora

Yes, I kept this cycle under wraps and tried to brave it on my own. I'm obviously not doing that well :0)

I'm probably just freaking out but I always think the worst now with IVF - so different to when I started out.

Great to see that you should be cycling again real soon. :)

Ghost usually doesn't come to this board --usually just the IVF board, so post there if you want his answer.

I'm sooooo freaking happy for you! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I really hope I join you here (pregnant after treatment) soon. We are transfering (hopefully) a singe blast, so my odds aren't great (~35%), but hopefully!

When is your due date?

Hi Leora

Due date is 17 Dec. I'm super excited about this but terrified at the same time if that makes any sense.

Thanks for letting me know about Ghost only being on IVF board.

Man, I really hope this next transfer works out for you. 35% chance is pretty good and you have a good implantation history. Once I'm a big more settled, I'll start posting again I think.
