AAARRGGHHHH!!!! Well they finally called at 8:30ET to say that Labcorp's results still arent back yet and that they're closing - ugh! She said she will call me tomorrow as soon as she gets them ( which is likely early afternoon for me) Yes, I'm still taking the meds, but damn now I have to open a whole new bottle of delestrogen for 1 inj tonight. Well this is the longest I've ever had a 2ww before - tomorrow will be 13 days! No wonder I feel like a half crazed looney tune by now, lol.
I sure hope she calls early - today by 7pm I had myself convinced that they forgot me and went home. You know this will be another long night now... I'll write personals in a little while when I can sit still, haha, right now I'm feeling very antsy, lol. - xoxo

Katie I'm so sorry! I don't understand any of this stuff, and I have no idea why it is just so hard for some of us. You did everything right, and it's not your fault. It is just so confusing. :(
Hopefully you'll get some kind of answer during your follow up call. I don't even ask for a FU call anymore because it's always the same. My heart hurts so much for you and Chris. xoxoxo

afm Tomorrow is my next big day in this cycle. I go for my lining check, and get my intralipids!! I'm hoping my lining is nice and thick so I can get my transfer date set for next week. So we have 6 blasts left which are stored in 3 canes of 2. Tomorrow I have to tell them how many to thaw. I was thinking I would thaw the first cane, and transfer 2 if they both make the thaw, then if not, thaw another cane so we can get atleast 2 to transfer, and if we end up with 3 then that would be fine too. When I said this to DH last night he said he wants to just thaw 1cane, and transfer whatever makes it. He doesn't want to thaw any other canes. I'm ok with only transferring 2, but to only transfer 1 makes me really really nervous. I told him to think about it today, and we will talk when I get home from work tonight. I don't ever want to make a decision that he doesn't agree with 100%, but I hope he changes his mind. When we adopted these embies, 9 of them sounded like soooo many, and now that we have to thaw them, it seems like they are disappearing way too fast!
ahhhhh the what-if's of the cycle are my least favorite. My clinic's website has online meditation recordings, and I was listening to one the other day, and it was about releasing control over things we can't change, and release yourself from unfair expectations, and punishment. I think I will have to listen to it many times during the 2ww and chant the mantra so that I don't beat myself up over things that I can not control.

Franny - hoping your lining check is smooth sailing. Have you done intralipids before? they are a breeze. I am with you, transferring 1 seems like such a gamble. I am only going to do 1 but that is only because mine have been tested. if they weren't tested I would be doing 2. As far as thawing 2 canes, can they refreeze one if it isn't used? do they do vitrification or the slow freezing method? I think with the slow freezing they can't be refrozen. Uggh such decision. Well hopefully if you only can do one cane then both those embies will be good to transfer and you don't have to worry about a second cane.

Thanks Chris! This is my first time doing intralipids, and I know everyone says it's easy, but I still get nervous. Luckily we IVF gals are so used to needles that I'm sure it will be fine!
Last cycle they told me that they wouldn't be able to re-freeze them so I don't really know what the difference in freezing since I never had any left over to freeze from my own cycles. I never had to think of any of this stuff before.
I just will wait and see I guess. Hopefully we wont even have to think about thawing more then one cane. They told me they need to know tomorrow though no matter what because if I don't tell them exactly what I want, then they will just keep thawing everything, and pick the best ones, and I really don't want that to happen!
How was your vacation?? Where did you go?

Franny - That's a bummer that they have to know asap. I think my clinic does quick thaws so if they don't have any good embryos with the first thaw they can push transfer off for just a few hours and thaw something asap. don't know what a quick thaw entails. I have been told that they charge more for them.
Vacation was great.. well besides a lot of us got some kind of stomach virus.. I never got fully sick just felt like crap now and then. It was still a good, relaxing time. We went to KY Lake. We stay at a resort that is small and is pretty quiet so no one bothers up. it has a really nice beach and swim dock so get plenty of lake time. We go every year from memorial day. First it started out with just a group of friends, now its pretty much a family reunion. Hated to come back.. :-(

Ok, lets try this in the morning now maybe it will work?
I did talk to the RE and he thinks that theres no reason why it shouldnt have worked. He said that now after 2 FETs with him, he now considers me 'an implantation issue". Great. Do we have a "sarcasm" emoticon? Sigh. He wants me to go have an APA panel done (antiphosolipid antibodies) and a GTT to see if I'm insulin resistant ( which I dont think I am) I agreed to go tomorrow. I mean why not, ins will cover the tests and its just another 2 hrs of my life stting still, right? i'm actually hoping that they do find something so that we have an answer. Wasnt this what Gi, Chris and franny were tested for? He said that theres 21 antibodies known to interfere with implantation and they are easily treatable. So we'll see. The nurse said to go tom. because they can take awhile to come back with results. Thats fine by me, because I feel like this last 2ww really kicked my ass. Did I tell you that the 1st beta was less than 1. Wow, thanks so much for having me continue meds for another 5.5 days. If thats the 1st beta there really isnt a point to having a 2nd one, you know? So I'm in some sort of holding pattern for now. As for what we have left, it is 5. Just 5 little 3 day embies. They thawed 9 of the 14 and tx'd 2, right away 3 were poor, 2 werent looking good, 2 they were watching to see if they could refreeze, and the 2 we tx'd , well we know what happened to them. :( he insists that they should have worked and that they were "stellar". It sucks, but I'm not going anywhere and am here to cheer on my girls!

Franny - Good luck today!! I'm sure your lining will be great and I hope you remembered your book to keep you busy. I cant wait to hear how it went later! I would be nervous to only tx 1 also. I'm hoping that you both get what you want and only have to thaw 1 cane and have 2 wonderful embies to tx. thinking of you as always..- xoxo

Chris - Your vacation sounds so relaxing. I'm jealous, But I hope you got some rest because its your time soon! It wont be long now and I totally get how stressful it is to even be in an RE's office again, but we're all here for you to vent to and cheer you on. love you girl - xoxo

Gi & Ronda - thinking of you both and hoping all is well. have to cut this short as some little munchkin is now helping me type and is likely to erase it before the site eats it again  love you girls - xoxo

katie - glad they are doing some more tests.. I don't know why more RE's dont do them from the get go.. I know some of the tests aren't covered by insurance but the clinics should leave it up to the patient if they want to pay out of pocket or not. Hope they find out something. If you don't mind me asking, how old was the donor that produced these eggs. I just find it fishy that out of 9 only 2 made really good blasts. Just doesn't sound right. Kind of wondering if maybe the donor had PCOS or something. she produced lots of eggs but with PCOS a lot of the eggs won't be good. Just thinking out loud & hoping i don't stir up more stress for but maybe its worth asking before paying for another transfer and travel fees. I guess maybe freezing and thawing might have hurt them too. do they tell you how many cells the embies were on 3 days? Ok i will stop asking questions, my IVF brain is always on overload.

Chris - Oh no honey, I love any input you have. I have an ivf obsessed brain also, lol. I mean really how could we not after feeling like we should diagnose and plan our own cycles after all this time, haha. It sucks that we even HAVE so much info on this subject, doesnt it? when we first started I was soooo green and truly believed that it would work the first time, I guess most of us feel that way, but for the love of, havent we put in enough time on this part of our lives yet? Its a lucky thing that we are all strong and intelligent females around here! I have the donor's profile in my email still so if you can think of anything else I should look up please let me know. She was 35 and her dx was severe endo, fibroids, and ovarian cysts. From what the RE said she was successful on the first fresh cycle, tx'd 3 and had a singleton. I was stunned to hear from 9 only 2 made it to full hatching stage too. I know that on day 3 when frozen 6 were between 7 & 8 cells and the other 3 were 4 cells. For a clinic that told me that their criteria for freezing was high, I'm not sure why they would have frozen 4 cells on day 3? He told me that the day after my transfer they other two that were just beginning to hatch and looked good the day before now werent up to their standards for freezing. He said that with an irregular inner cell mass if they implanted they would likely have ended up as a blighted ovum. I told him that hearing this makes me really nervous about whats left frozen and he said that they are good quality embies and that he now thinks ( after 2 FETs) that "the problem may be with the soil, not with the seed". He's a nice guy, but I prefer medical speak, you know? He made me sound like a garden, lol. And somewhere in that conversation he called me "a proven uterus" instead of saying that I HAD a proven uterus. Sheesh! lol. He left it off as lets see what if anything these tests show and we'll go from there. My fear now is that they all come back within normal limits and I'll have to decide whether to take another gamble at this. Yay for infertility, yes? UGH!
