Hello! I'm on my 6th IVF transfer (4 Fresh and 2 Frozen)....2 BFPs but one had no heartbeat and the other was an ectopic pregnancy. I'm in my 2WW for my 6th IVF transfer. How many IVF transfers did you do to bring your baby/ babies home? How many have you heard that your friends did to bring their baby/ babies home? Please share your story....as I'm trying to figure out when to stop trying via IVF and move on to a surrogate. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! Baby Dust!

Hi Kitty,I am sorry you are having it so rough. You can see my story in the signature. I've heard a statistic that 80% of people get pregnant with IVF after 8 cycles.
Again I am sorry, you have had it so rough.
ME 40, DH, 43

I don't know the answer but haven't heard of many going beyond 8. I have heard success stories at that stage. I wish you the best.

Have you gotten a 2nd opinion.. sometime changing clinics can help because they have different outlooks and different approaches. At this point surrogacy might not be your answer. the protocol used to stim and egg quality is more then likely the problem. Check out other clinics, some even do free phone consults. I had 4 cancelled IVF cycles and 6 full IVF cycles with my own eggs and never had one BFP, moved on to DE to finally get my BFP.

Ladies, It means so much to me that you shared your storyand well wishes. I wish you all the best. I'm on day 11 post 5 day transfer and still getting BFN. I have my beta blood test on day day 13. That said, I did just switch clinics and had a much better result with the different protocol. I switched clinics because my last Dr. told me that there was nothing more he could do for me and he recommended a surrogate. This is because I had 3 cancelled transfers because my lining would not get above 6.3 and it needs to be 8+ for the transfer. I switched clinics..did the new Drs. new protocol and my lining was 8.2. I used vaginal viagra (no estrace or estrogen patches like the other Dr. was using) as well...which worked well. The blasts we transfered looked great, the lining was 8.2 and he said the lining was not all the way trilaminar...but there was an area that was that where he could put the embryos. He also did additional tests and found that I have PAI-1 which is a blood clotting disorder...not a big deal but could effect fertility...so he also put me on a daily Lovenox shot. He aslo found that I have the MTHRFR gene which makes your body not process folic acid...without special meds like Folgard. Both he said are easy fixes with Lovenox and Folgard...and so I was feeling very positive...I'll let you know what happens...but I wholeheartedly agree that if it's not working with one clinic...you should switch clinics. Hi! We stopped after the 2nd cycle. It was way too much money spent, so a cousin stepped up and carried for us, No charge. Talk about an angel looking out for us!
Thanks for sharing your story Josh and congratulations. U am curious...how many embryos did you transfer and do you remember how the Dr. described the quality? I would love twins. Kitty
