Ninde – Wow, I didn't realize it takes 7 years in Ireland! I completely understand what you're saying about not being rebellious yet wanting to move on also with IVF. 7 years is a long period of time. I've seen an English TV program about adoption quite a while back and I remember how unjust I thought it all was, I do understand the need to find a good match and also to protect a child who's life already been traumatized, but to the point they scare people off this wonderfully giving process? Why my hubby is against it, I guess I don't know because he just would not talk about it. In the 1 (very rare) occasion I ever remember talking to his mom and even then only generally about our IF, she mumbled something like: 'you never really know with adopted children', and I always have a feeling with her she is scared I'd go and do somebody else's child. All in all we don't understand each other, but I have a hunch maybe also DH's refusal is somewhat related to how she/rest of his family view things? He has such a big heart I find it hard to believe he ever really considered it and then decided against it. But I nagged only 1 time about it, which is when we started talking about the possibility of a surrogate (we can't afford it) and I said loud and clear that I thought if it came that far from a natural pregnancy that we'd go pay money to have our baby born to another woman when there are children who need our love at least as we need to give it to them, it's so wrong. Anyhow, we won't go the surrogate way also due to the fact all docs still believe the not getting pregnant and the chemicals are due to the sperm morphology and nobody really knows what happened with the 1 pregnancy we lost during the 6th month.
Madame x – Exactly as you said, I also sometimes look back and think what the hell is wrong with me, becoming an actual monster with my innocent hubby (grrr let him try 1 injection then we'll see how he's coping!) I've done hundreds!
Sorry, have no experience with fibroids.
Lauren – sorry you are feeling so sick. The only words of wisdom I have are that at least you keep on knowing you are pregnant, cause when I was I felt too perfect all the time and got the feeling something was wrong. Also, pretty soon you're into the second trimester and everything will become easier for you.
Kynlee – Good that you're more relaxed now after talking to the nurse. Sorry about the terrible weather and DH gone for the week, I definitely know how it feels enjoy Bella, dogs are so good.
Nicole – I'm sorry adoption isn't an option for you two now.
Kala – I'm so happy to hear your little girl is okay – talk about a scary Bday memory! But I do love the restaurant arrangement in Serbia, sounds great! Weren't you too early to POAS? I hope so, and good you're trying to stay positive!
Leora - Try to stay positive, I know easier said than done and I struggle with it myself. But you are in the 2WW, you are not on a break and very soon you might hear some wonderful news! So many people want this for you! Take good care of yourself you deserve it so much.

AFM - Thank you ladies for doing the dance for me! AF came yesterday and RE said we should start the stims on Wednesday!!! Yay! I am soooo scared of it not working. Again.

Sarah- How scary! I can't believe they put metal pieces on the cake and didn't tell you! I'm glad everything is ok.

To those of you that have done supplementation to help improve egg quality, how did you determine how much to take?

I want to add CoQ10 and DHEA for sure but don't know how much to take. The ND at the integrated RX isn't aware of the fertility stuff and wanted me to go see a fertility ND before getting the DHEA. I'm allergic to bees so I can't add anything like royal jelly. I take a comprehensive prenatal that is foods based, fatty acids, vitamin D, spirolina, and sometimes a liver cleanse. I add baby aspirin shortly before transfer.

Have any of you taken any steroids to help prevent embryo rejection? I'm considering asking for that especially because of my MS and endometriosis.

I'm home and so glad to be, just worn out from the traveling to my grandmother's funeral. Although it was hard to let go, I kissed her one last time and placed one of her crochet needles in the casket with her. She looked so peaceful and beautiful, she was certainly ready to be with the lord and see her papa. My granny shared so much love and enrichment in life. When she would talk to you she would make you feel like you were in the only one in the whole room and you left feeling like she made such the difference. She gave so much love hope and faith, never letting you give up on anything that was of importance. So I crocheted a blanket in memory of my grandmother the entire time I was away on this trip. My biggest fear was that she wouldn't be there to meet my future children and crochet a baby blanket. Someday I'll share her stories though and I'll pass on this blanket that is being made hopefully to them. x

Christy - I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I'm glad you got the chance to say good bye at the funeral.

Kay - so weird that AF didn't show up, but doesn't that sometimes happen on Lurpon?

Kynlee - do they have any suggestions for making the lining thicker? Increasing the dose of estrogen? I know some people have better luck on estrogen injections instead of oral pills. You can also take the oral pills vaginally, which can help. I'm sorry you are delayed, but it shouldn't affect your odds. Your nurse is right - this cycle is medicated, so your "normal" cycle doesn't matter. You won't get AF again unless you stop the meds!

Patricia - this time was average for me (15-18 eggs usually, and about 6-8 fertilize) -- the last time was the fluke! Adoption here is 7 years too... we've been "on the list" for 2.5... are you "on the list" at all? So nice that you dreamt about your baby. I find it hard to not know what sexes the 2 babies I lost in the first trimester were. I've been thinking of arbitrarilly making one a boy and one a girl - just so I can picture them better. Ava Grace is a beautiful name. Heather told me that they write letters to Aimee and "send them to heaven" by tying them to helium balloons and setting them free.

MadameX - Amanda did a mixed DE and her egg cycle - and she's pregnant! Hopefully it'll work for you too! If you get pregnant, will you want to do genetic testing on the baby to see if it was yours or the donors? I know it doesn't matter at all - but it could be important in terms of medical history for the child. Phillies game? Where do you live? I'll be in NYC and Pittsburgh in August (if I'm not pregnant!)

Lauren - are you on drugs for the sickness? I have HG (hyperemsis gravidarum - look it up!) when pregnant - and I lose weight like crazy and can't keep down even some plain water. I need IV fluids and sugars - and I take Zofran. Tell your doctor you are so sick! It's not normal!

Nicole - so exciting to have an appt, no? What will you be discussing? A new fresh IVF cycle? I'm always terrified, but always want to do it, so I understand.

Antonia - I can't believe it's been a year since you cycled. That's crazy how much has happened in a year. How's the job search going? What about taking a 'stupider' job for now? I'm in a job in a totally different field, waaaay below my skills/abilities, but I like it because it's so low stress. You are in a cooking magazine! SOOOOO COOOL! I love cooking magazines. I would ask for a copy, but surely it's in Greek and I don't read Greek! Take a picture of it and post it!

HopethisworksM - I love the ticker! so glad things are going so well. 2nd trimester means your odds of taking this baby home at the end is more than 99%!

Maria - I had shortness of breath and heart palpitations when I was pregnant. Turns out I was severely dehydrated and didn't realize. Whenever that happens - go to the doctor! Feel good - you are almost at the end!

Sarah(Kala) - how many days past transfer are you? Still early, but I know it's disappointing... Happy birthday to your daughter!

I'm concerned that this clinic/lab is supposed to be better than my last one, but we had such better results at the last clinic. I don't really want to switch again, since I love my doctor and the new clinic. But why the bad results? let's say last time was a fluke - but this time?

Rosie also switched to this clinic and she said maybe they have higher standards for freezing embryos - and that's why neither of us had frosties even though we'dhad at previous clinics. Could be. I've never had a FET work (well, once, but it was an early miscarriage nightmare)

I'm not feeling optimistic, but whatever. Embryo doesn't care. It'll work or not no matter how I feel!

I'm thinking that if this fails, maybe we can squeeze in a FET before my trip on Aug 3, if my RE is okay with that. If no frosties, we have to wait until I get back, but that's fine. I don't really want to cycle June/August - since TWICE I've done that and had April due dates. I prefer a March or May due date over April....

POAS in a week and beta next Thursday (should be Friday, but labs are closed Fri/Sat, so he is letting me do Thursday instead of waiting until Sunday!)

Sorry I've been so absent! Work is crazy at the end of the month!

Hey everyone!
I got lost for a while. Things have been so crazy around here and I have been SICK!
Its good to see so many pregnant people on here. Im so glad things are going well. I believe this is they year for ivf positives.

As for my update all the betas went well and i had my first ultrasound on Monday. So....the results are i have heartbeats....3 heartbeats. Im now 6 weeks 1 day pregnant for triplets! Ive been sick and exhausted but the babies are doing well and thats what matters.
Keep up the positive attitudes!

leorira- First off congrats on your transfer! don't give up, anything goes in the IVF world. With my 2nd DD the two they put back were not so good grade I think it was a 3 with "1" being the best we put back two. We started out with twins but ended up with a signleton and one leftover embryo made it to a perfect blast! You just never know praying this time works for you.

I had some labs drawn to start lupron and I didnt ovulate DAMN PCOS! So we will re-test friday and if i still didnt O then provera and then lupron. I'm not in no rush but I was hoping to start

Sunshine- Sorry to hear about your grandmother.. I'm with you on that to show your grandmother a grandchild. My grandma has been pushing me to have another one (& she doesn't know what we are doing) but keeps on saying I'm not getting any younger so hurry up!

blueyeddreamer - I started to look into Japan to adopt (since my DH is japanese ) but I'm not there yet.. Good luck on your 1st appointment !!

Kynlee - I'm cheering you on!! everything will work out with the timing. They are the doctors as much as we want to give them our say we need to trust they know what there doing.. but its sooooo hard to leave it in there hands! ugh.. .

Julia - Sooo happy for you!! Congrats to your baby boy on his way!!

I had to travel for work and just got back into town and had an appointment yesterday with a Chinese Acupuncture Fertility doctor . He has really amazing success rates just on using herbs and his own Chinese methods. My dermatologist referred me to him because she has done 3 IVF's and some FET cycles and now is prego from her 2nd FET Cycle (she is the same age as me) So she said she went and the doctor told her she can try but won't get pregnant until she follows his rules for 5months. She did & on the 6month she did it!! So I made an appointment and went yesterday.
He checked my pulse on both wrists and looked at my eyes and tongue then said you have "COLD Uterus" Do not eat or drink anything cold for 2 months keep your feet covered at all times and drink cinnamon tea & ginger tea daily and you will be pregnant in about 2months. NO herbs or pills nothing else. He will do weekly acupuncture on me with heat on my feet and stomach along with a pulse shock that is attached to the needles and kinda shocks them..He said No matter how good our embryos are they won't implant if my body isn't in line. This doctor is very straight forward and says it like it is.. Which I like that. He seemed very confident on what I need to do to get my body ready. He said my body, spirit and mind are at 90% (left wrist ) but my right wrist was only at 50% so he said we should get there within 2 period cycles. So I get back to my office and look up Cold Uterus and it really looks like that what I have! So no ice cream, frozen yogurt, ice cold beer or margaritas .. and wearing closed toe shoes with socks alllllll summer long!!! :/ I said can i start this after I come back from Maui Hawaii..lol he just looked at me.... no smiles.. I was like tough room! I just went thur 2 cycles with BFN I think I deserve some drinks and fun in the sun! I will follow the rules until we leave but that week I'm gone I might slip! lol... Well at least I have some type of direction I can look forward too! my IVF doctor wanted to do some more test 5 days after ovulation which is next week but I think I am going to pass and just see how I am next AF with just doing this acupuncture. Hope everyone else is well!!!

Waiting kay: that was a horrible thing that your mother-in-law said but unfortunately not rare. My dh is adopted and I remember at his adopted mothers funeral his aunt said "im betty - rosemarie's aunt" - Rosemarie is dh's sister.- she was a biological child. I was so angry. I wo der could you try broaching it again with your husband in a general way? Its very hard though. Did you start stims today?

Cyn: good luck with the Accupuncture. You are going to love me for this - but if you are planning to start again soon then I would probably follow his advice - i know its a pain though

Afm: social workers phoned - they want to see us for our first of 7 meetings next week. Unfortunately one of the other couples in our group also were assigned the social worker we have, apparently she cancels meetings on the day they are scheduled, does 4 hour meetings instead of two and sits on the final report. Im not thrilled, working as I do which is primarily with clients I cant just cancel sessions on the day if our meetings run over.

Also, did the recording today I recorded "brown eyes blue" and "here, there and everywhere" by the beatles. I'll have the final mixes tomorrow but im happy with the rough mixes I've heard. Ill post them if anyone knows how?

Cyn- I had to giggle a bit about your cold uterus. The Chinese don't believe in cold, so avoiding cold foods, drinks, weather...is their culture. I have to deal with that from my MIL.

Patricia- I don't know why the Chinese adoption rules are the way they are. That is what the requirements list said. Because I have been divorced then we have to be married 5 years. It says anti depressants for anxiety etc are a no no. You have to go off of the meds for two years, I think. It doesn't say MS specifically but did mention lupus so I made an assumption on that one. Most other countries say no serious health concerns, so what counts? It sure as hell doesn't help the perception of MS to have Sharon Osbourne on the cover of People sayin "I won't let my son die". Really! Thanks Sharon.

AFM, AF is starting to show. Still waiting for dr to say if I should start the bcp.
