Why is sex and specifically orgasm restricted until a fetal heartbeat is detected? I have had orgasms in my sleep....is this hurting the baby? I am almost 6 weeks along.
My RE doesnt have that restriction. We weren't restricted at all after the beta. I think many REs don't want to have panic since there is often spotting after intercourse while pregnant. You're fine try not to worry !
RE's give these "restrictions" so if something was to go wrong like BFN or a m/c that one wouldn't doubt that an orgasm or jumping jacks caused it. In reality I personally think its a bunch of crap, many women get pregnant without knowing it and excersize, run, have sex, drink do drugs etc and they still have healthy pregnancies and babies. Its just different for "us" in the IVF world because we know from the moment that egg is fertalized whats happening to it and we avoid unnecessary activity that might harm it. I'm not saying that one should go out and drink and jump or do whatever, but I never stayed on bed rest or anything like that and got pregnant twice. As a matter of fact the time that I did do bed rest and limited activity I had a BFN, so go figure.

I don't know why it would be prohibited for that long. I know of some risks earlier than that, around the time of egg collection or shortly after embryo transfer, but not approaching 6 weeks. Just don't know.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
