Midwife says.....

Post by Tracey S »

Just got back from the midwife and my blood pressure is slightly up - not dangerously so but up for me if that makes sense - it is normally around 120/60 or 120/70 and now 146/70 so she reckons not long - this coupled with the fact twin one is 2/5th engaged and the other def breech with head jammed under my ribs. She has given me a TENS machine and explained not to use in in the bath - looked at her and she said one woman got in and nearly killed herself - soppy thing!

She is coming round to my house thursday - she lives up the road! and is checking blood pressure again but added that she does not think she will see me - yikes and more yikes - not sure ready for this......... Mind you she could be wrong.
So my update
Love
Tracey

Hi Tracey, so she thinks it will start in the next 2days??? double yikes!!!

But ohhh how exciting, no matter what you'll have tiny, little faces wrapped up in blankets looking sleepily up at you soon. Tiny little blobs of people to whom you are the centre of the universe.

Just remember, billions of women have been through this. Think of a couple of dozy mothers you know, if they can do it, so can you!

Take care,
love
Debra.

BTW,
How do they tell the head is becoming engaged? Just by feeling the lower tummy, or an internal?

How exciting - a pre-birth announcement!

It sounds as if we could be getting the news of your girls' arrival at any minute. I can't wait and I think that I'm nearly as excited as when I had my two! Good luck for the next few days ... and don't worry about not being ready because you'll slot into motherhood very easily.

Love Jules

Tracey,

How exciting! You seem remarkably calm under the circumstances. I'm impressed!

Anyway, figured I'd better take a moment to wish you the absolute best since it looks like I might not have much more time to do so!

love and best wishes,

Staci

Hello everyone

Just made it today - yesterday about an hour after dinner I was very sick - not like me as like to keep my food! and did not feel myself - some of you know what I mean - Deb and Jules and Wibbs. So rang the midwife - by this stage could not sit down as felt I had a brick coming out if you know what I mean  so could only stand and everythign very hard. She thought early signs of labour and told me to wait an hour then ring the hospital if the same. She rang back half an hour later bless her by which time I had given myself a good talking to and was fine again.
Needless to say did not sleep much so got DH to take GAbbie out for a walk - first time ever! And the minx then assumed she was getting another. as I felt ok I rang my midwife to say thanks and took GAbbie out again with her Dog who luckily has been "done" as mine is on heat at 10 months old
So now off to the garden.
Helen to answer your question - I have felt the head very low anyway and the other twin has her feet jammed down the side of twin one's head - I asked my midwife and she had to go down low to feel the head - external not internal. You should be able to have a feel yourself - ooo errr but for me it is uncomfortable to walk sometimes as you can imagine -says me having taken the dog out for an hour.
Love to all and thanks again for the lovely messages - you are all so kind
Love
Tracey
