Any tips on avoiding OHSS?

Post by Pocos »

Hi Ladies,

I had one IVF cycle before, had OHSS, my ET was canceled. Out of the 3 embryos I had frozen, only 1 survived the thaw - Beta Negative.

I am currently in my 7th day of stims. I am with a new clinic, new protocol, less medication but still worried about OHSS. I really dont want to have this ET canceled. I am using the long lupron protocol so I cant trigger with lupron. My question is: Any tips to avoid OHSS? I am going for baseline tomorrow and will ask about reducing the medication too.

I heard gatorade and salty food are good. But doesn't salty food retain fluid? I am so confused.

Thanks!

Just got a call from the nurse. I am on day 8 of stims and my Estrogen is at 1750.
She asked me not to take the 75iu of Gonal f I was supposed to take tonight. I am only taking the luveris and tomorrow morning 75iu of Gonal f and another baseline tomorrow morning.

I am sooooo happy they are helping me and lowered my dosage. I am praying this will be my happy cycle!

Based on your dose you should be good. My re does bw following trigger and anything over 2000 they advised of possible ohss. I was 2800. When 3000-4000 my clinic gets concerned.
