I hope everyone is doing well. I was in Labor & Delivery today again. I've been having contractions about every 20 minutes or so. They ss an u/s and my cervix was 2.1 cm in length and funneling. I was told to go home and rest and call my OB so I can see him in the morning. However, when I call the office the nurse told me that since I have an appointment next Tuesday I didn't née to go in tomorrow. I guess I'm a bit baffled. I don't really have any answers other than it seems like maybe I'm DH and I seem to be much more concerned than anyone else is. I'm not very satisfied with not really knowing what's going on. I actually feel a bit frustrated today which is not like me at all. I'm pretty laid back. DH says that I should call in the morning and ask some questions so that we can feel a bit more reassured. I think I will do just that first thing in the morning. I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I am keeping each of you in my prayers.

Maria, I would definitely call your office back in the morning. That just doesn't sound right to me. Maybe the nurse you spoke to was confused. My cervix has been at 4.7 so at 2.1 and such frequent contractions I would want to know what is up!

Kerpupples-thank you. I should be hearing back from my OB this afternoon. My cervix had been closed and long with every u/s but when I went to the OB two weeks ago there were definantely changes. But I'm not sure how significant the changes were on that visit and how they compare to the changes noticed yesterday. How are you feeling?

I'm feeling OK, other than having elephant ankles and just overall being huge and slow-moving. My belly isn't a pointer like yours - it's big and round. I've had some sleep issues but we got the recliner upstairs last night and I fell asleep like a baby in it. Minimal Braxton Hicks. If I were less uncomfortable I'd try to push this as long as I can, but I don't think the babies are going to cooperate in that regard.
Any word from your doc? I imagine it's nothing serious, but I would just want to hear something.

Kerpupples-sorry to hear that your uncomfertsble. I can totally relate. I finally spoke to my OB. He says that on the 18th my cervix had begun to change and was 2.97cm. The yesterday it was 2.1cm with funneling. However, because the FFN or Fetal Fibronectin Test was negative last week, they are confident that I won't go into labor for two weeks from the day of the test. They will redo the cervical length on Tuesday and if it gets to under 1.5cm we may need to have a different conversation. Also he advised that if the contraction get to 12 to 10 min apart I should go to labor and delivery. He said I should take it easy this weekend. So my mind is mow at ease. I just needed to hear from him. I will follow his instructions and see him on Tuesday.

Maria I wanted to try and put your mind at ease if I can. As you know I had cervical cancer and so have a shorter than normal cervix and am considered high risk. At most my cervix is 3.7cm during pregnancy. So anyways last pregnancy (with Paul last year) my cervix dropped to 1.7cm by 30 weeks and all of the docs freaked out!!! Yes I did have lots of braxton hicks contractions so everyone was super super concerned....I was quickly given steriod injections to grow the baby's lungs and was put on bedrest with procardia to take every 6 hours. Well I took no chances and layed down a lot plus drank lots of water and to everyones shock lasted another 7 1/2 weeks with the cervix at 1.7.....By 37weeks 4 days I however did go into labor and Paul was born completly healthy....so try not too worry too much about the cervical length and if you are having contractions can you ask for procardia? I think it really helped me and many other girls on the 2011 board. Good luck to you dear you are so close

I had 20 wk anatomy scan today and all looks good. YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY! Looks like I'm brewing a wee baby girl with a very cute wee button nose. Another scan in 4 wks and if we get the all clear we'll just follow the routine scans from there on in.
HappyBunny-how is your little prince doing? Please post some new pics. I'd love to see them. I'm sceduled for Sept 4th but my OB thinks it will be sooner. Maybe in 2 to 3 weeks do we will see.

Our little guy is doing super! His jaundice cleared up completely and he's packing on the pounds. It's a handful having a toddler and a newborn now that my husband's paternity leave is over - we're working on getting our routine together... Mornings are the toughest.

Barb - Travis is positively adorable! It's got to be tough having both of them at home at once. We will actually be sending DD to daycare full-time for a few weeks after the babies are born so that I can have some time to adjust.
Tess - congrats on team Pink! Girls are tons of fun.
Maria - I saw your cervix length on the other thread. Wow! Is it starting to hit you that the girls will be here soon? I hope they get to bake until at least the end of this month.
AFM - rough day yesterday. My legs have swelled up to the size of sausages, and then last night I was vomiting and had diarrhea. I started having some contractions pretty close together so I called the after hours line. The doctor said if I continued with contractions to go to the hospital, otherwise come in to doctor's office today. So I came in this morning, and all is fine, though I could have bet otherwise because man am I uncomfortable. Cervix is 5cm and closed. BP is 126/87. Both babies are now breech, and Bruce is 4lb11oz, Audrey a whopping 5lb8oz! That would explain the discomfort. Also, Audrey also apparently has lots of hair already! The doctor gave me some antinausea meds which I am thrilled to take. Holding food down so far. Need to find a swimming pool to float in to bring this leg swelling own.
I've decided that since I still feel a little odd about calling a baby Bruce that his baby nickname will be Batman (Bruce Wayne)! I guess Audrey gets Catwoman by default then.

HappyBunny-your little munchkin is so absolutely gorgeous. I'm so glad you guys are doing well.
Kerpupples-yes, we are both so close now. I'm sorry your not feeling well. Are you still working? I'm still working full time and hoping to work until the end but we will see. I'm so glad both your little ones are holding on tight. That will hive them more time which is what we want. Please keep us posted.
Today I signed with CBR or Cord Blood Registry for both babies. I don't know if anyone else has thought about preserving cord blood but both my husband and I are nurses and did the research for months and were really convinced. Thank God, with CBR we were able to get the twin discount plus the medical professionals discount which really gave us the best price of all the companies out there but truth be told they had the best prices even without the discount and more importantly they have the most years of experience which really put my mind at ease. If anyone is interested, the link below is a referral link that will give you more information about cord blood and cord tissue preservation. We are also consideting preserving the cord tissue as well but havent quite decided yet. My reps name is Shawn and he was just wondeful and was able to answer all the questions we had, and we had a whole bunch of questions. Best of luck to all and sending you all much love.
Hi ladies,
I hope everyone is doing well. As for us, we are still hanging in there at 34 weeks today. I'm really feeling heavy now. I'm still working but I think I may speak to my nursing supervisor tomorrow about working 1/2 days starting sometime this coming week. It's getting increasingly more difficult to work 8 hours ferling the way I'm feeling. The contractions have Horton increasingly more uncomfortable and painful but still only 20 min apart. The girls are really kicking up a storm. I thought they were supposed to slow down by now but these girls haven't slowed down at all. I think they are fighting for space The nursery is almost done. It's coming along nicely. DH still has to put together the dresser and we need to put sone wall hangings, decals, and paintings up but that's pretty much it. Below are some picks of how the nursery is coming along so far. Hopefuly we can have it finished by mid week. Sending you all my love.
