Hi Everyone,

DS is sick with fever/cold so I am home yesterday and today. Gt some time to organize my meds for tomorrow.

Suzyq: you are lucky if he is not going to repeat it to others  :D

Wondercat: a couple years back someone broke into my car to steal the really old cd player- if they had asked I would have given it away for free than deal with replacing the window- what a hassle. And that they tried to break in - cant image. Hope you still feel save. Depending on the person they might have taken all your meds! so there is a positive side :!:

Ninde. I had me pour last time as well and it was fine for me. My protocol is 2weeks BC now3 days break and starting stims tomorrow with Lurton (3days), goal f and menopur for 10days add certified the
At 3/4days Hcg trigger on the 13th and retrieval on the 15th transfer on either 15th or 18th - however we didn't make it to a day 5 transfer last time and I assume we won't this time either. I haven't asked for a day off as of now since it might change so my plan is as well to call in sick.
My last RE (not with the clinic anymore) had me on bed rest for 2 days and I don't know what the new one might suggest. I guess I do it because it worked for me last time. However I hate bed rest! I like to relax but not when I have to :D

Arm: also went to the vitamins shoppe to get my muscle milk but the nice guy a the counter recommended something with less sugar :-) . Probably saw right away that I am not the usual fitness customer and that the more sugar would not be good for me:-)))

I wish you all a wonderful day

kiwi11 - Hahaha looks like your "smart" phone hasn't learned IVF-speak yet! :) LOL I sometimes post off my kindle fire and the auto correct drives me INSANE! I crack my DH up by periodically shouting things at my kindle like, "Damn you if I typed 'f*cknuts' that's what I wanted to say you piece of crap, not 'focus'!!!" Also things I don't want my DS to repeat...

I would honestly feel safer if my old dog was still alive. :( He was the most amazing, wonderful pit bull mix a girl could own, and he loved me so much I never had any doubt he would have done anything to protect me. Safest 9 years of my life, from the day I brought him home from the pound until the day I held him in my arms and said goodbye. My current dogs... Eh, not so much. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome and so devoted to me that they follow me everywhere in the house - but the intimidation factor is not high with a chubby old beagle, a blonde hound/lab/pit mix with floppy ears, and a 30-pound pit bull in a sparkly pink collar.

Glad everyone could get a laugh at my expense today. We need laughter and joy. And yes, glad DS will not be repeating that one.

Ninde- Mixing sounds confusing to me. Would not want to do it, but this journey makes us all grow in ways we have not expected. Glad you got the training to understand it all.

Wondercat- What an ordeal for you. We have had a rash of break-ins in cars here where they steal the registration and garage remote then hit the persons home. My DH made me put my remote away and put the registration in my purse. We also just put an alarm system on our house. I tease him he was not worried about me, but now that he has his son he worries about everything. Sorry you lost your pit bull. We lost our Luke in May after 11 years of joy with him. He was a golden retriever. No guard dog, just a big baby. I have been bugging DH to get a puppy now because I will not want want next spring with a new baby. Glad to hear AF is gone and back on track.

Kiwi- Hopefully you will not have many side effects with only 4 days of lupron. Sorry to hear your son is sick. How old is he? What is the muscle milk for?

AFM- Blood test today said I was on track. Next blood work next Thursday. Two weeks to transfer.........WOW!!! Thinking positive thoughts we will all be new mommies in the spring, Wondercat. It is the season for new babes. Third maxi skirt completed today and we girls are off to get pedicures tomorrow.

Wishing warm days and fun in the sun to each of you this weekend.

suzyq - So sorry to hear about Luke. You should definitely get another dog, though I know it's hard to move on so soon after that kind of a loss. My DS is in love with our dogs and I just think it's a wonderful thing for a boy to have a dog. (Plus some recent study says kids with pets are healthier and have fewer allergies!) The little pittie Josie is his girl. They are the same age and right now the same weight (31 pounds). He gets soooo jealous if other children even pet her!

Personal opinion, I would really recommend rescuing a young adult dog. I have acquired dogs at 6 weeks (beagle), 7 months (pit), 1 year (hound), and 2 years (little pittie). However cute that damn beagle was I can't even imagine going through puppyhood with a baby, too. They are easier to train, and it was good to already know what the adult temperament was so we didn't get stuck with a hyper or aggressive dog. And the hound is so bonded with me she literally must have me in eyesight, even if I go to the bathroom! Josie was the rescue's first mama dog to be adopted before her puppies. The rescue was thrilled and her patient mama temperament is perfect with a little boy. Just my 2 cents, I love to see people get any dog because obviously I love dogs -- I have just been so happy with my adult dog adoptions it's turned me into an evangelist of sorts on the subject! :)

Hi Ladies,
I guess I'm running a little last on this board. I have had 3 unsuccesful IUI's this year and we are trying for our first IVF this month. I've been on bcp since June 25th and Lupron (20m?) since 7/29. Not so bad sofar a little bloated and cranky but thats it. I stop bcp on 8/4 and start Bravelle and Menopur on the 10th. If all goes well at my ultra on the 15 ER is the 20th and ET is the 23rd. It seems like I'm not freaking out like I should be. Granted it's on my mind all the time but I try not to let it get to me. I've finally gotted used to the shots especially if I do it myself I don't bruise but if the DH does it it's not pretty lol....
It's nice to talk to and hear from ppl going through the same things as me. I'm on another forum and they are doing different meds and proocedures and starting to scare me a little. I hope you'll will welcome me and help make this smoother being a newbe to all this. 8)

Wonder at; oh now that's really not good!!! Did the police come? And your dogs sound like mine - I have a retriever and a boxer who followed my dh and retriever home 2 months ago - they would lick anyone to death!!yours sound adorable if not cujo!!

Kiwi: hope your ds recovers. So you will be 14 days of stimms in total? They know that in advance in your clinic?

Suzyq: how are you doing g?

Tawny: you are very welcome . So your clinic know how long you will be stimming on menopur? Is it just 10 days? Can I ask what amount you are on?

Afm: feeling terribly emotional today. I hate when that happens, I've had to really try hard to settle myself.

Ninde: I know I will be on Bravelle (150 units) and Menopur (75 units) mixed in the am starting 8/10 and my calender only goes to the 15th they said I will have my check in ultra sound that morn and they would fill in the rest of my calender so I really don't know how long I will be on it. I lower my Lupron dose to 10 in the pm when I start the others on the 10th.

Ninde - Yes, the police came. Sounds like the guys checked our door the night they went through my car, found it unlocked (cause we're stupid) and came back next day thinking we would be at work and they could ransack the place. Our tenant says they heard one saying, "F*CK they locked the door!" Really, really scary -- what if it wasn't locked and I was home with DS??? We are getting a security system installed next Friday. It will be integrated into our cable, so we will actually be able to install an additional wireless camera in our nursery next spring (hopeful thinking again!) and view it online or through our smartphones wherever we are! I hear you on feeling emotional. It's all so much, but we also have to keep acting "normal" and go through the rest of the motions of our day like nothing else is happening. And like we aren't loaded with hormones!

Tawny - Welcome! :D I remember my first cycle as being more freaked out to the point of freezing up. Like this unnatural calm because it's literally so overwhelming that you're just like, "OK, um, whatever I have to do I will do it." I always did all my subcutaneous shots myself, but the PIO shots I preferred my husband to do. I could do them, and did, but was a total wimp about it. I'm curious what different meds & procedures they were talking about on the other site? Usually everything I have seen here is pretty similar to what I have done.

Holy Crap! Typed my whole post and the power went out on my laptop..... Hopefully this one will post.

Wondercat- Thanks for the advice on dogs. We are looking at a golden retriever rescue in our local area. My DH only wants a golden. Ours was so sweet and great with DS even to his dying day he would let DS crawl all over him like a horse. We too got our alarm through our local cable and love it. We had a camera installed to see our driveway and the horrible driver who keeps running over our brick flower bed. Just a little tired of rebuilding ever month or so. It sticks up 12 inches and we have a circular drive way so they do not even have to back up.

Ninde- I hear ya about nerves. Deep calm breaths. Your in my prayers. Nerves can get to ya with this stuff. I keep telling myself it only takes one and that is all I have left for this FET, a little scary.

Tawny- Welcome! We are glad to have you join us. Don't worry about your protocol. I have heard of so many it makes my head spin. You will also make it through the shots. My DH made me laugh so hard through the 5 shots he had to give me. He would turn pale as a ghost, sweat would bead up on his forehead, and then as soon as it was over he would have to lie down for a bit. Thus, the reason my 17 DD gave them to me at a buck a pop. She loved making the extra cash. This time I will not have any shots after the Lupron, but will use a vaginal insert 3X a day. That will be interesting.

Prayers for all as we get closer to transfer. Remember you are tough ladies if you are here and taking on this challenge. :D

Hi there

Suzyq: we have a golden retriever. He is lovely but totally mad!! You have someone who runs over your flower bed? That's awful. I used the vaginal pessariesin the past. First time cyclogest, messy but ok, next time crinone, didnt like it. What will you be on?

Wonder cat: that's great you can have the camera in the nursery :D You are so right on the hormones!!! What are you up to for the weekend?

Kiwi: how is your son?

Tawny: oh so you use drugs at different parts of the day on your protocal?

Afm: struggling with my weight again. Was really hoping to have dropped about 10 lbs but i just havnt done it. Im going to try and watch it through stimms but it seems the more I try the more i eat!! I work out with a trainer twice a week and in general I watch what i eat but even though im 5ft 9 im still carrying too much weight

Hi,

DS is a lot better :-) so I can go back to work Monday.

Ninde I received an estimated schedule from my RE and if everything goes as planned those will be the dates. I will go to have an US and bloodwork every 3-4 days to check. It is similar to my last cycle.

Suzyq. Did you figure out who it is? My colleague had someone broke into his house and after half a year the police found out it was the neighbors son - they are so. Embarrassed. Nonetheless he didnt get his stuff back- was already sold. Now he has a camera too and he can watch from his smartphone.

Tawny. Welcome! I wasn't nervous with my first cycle either. Too much to process and everything new. I am more nervous now since I know what's going to happen and how it feels. The good part now is that I could skip a lot of the test I had to do last time.

Afm. Started stims yesterday and had an awful night. Guess it was the lupron. Felt like my Breasts are bursting and my lips are thick and had a headache so couldnt sleep for a long time. So I don't know how you are doing it taking it for such a long time. Maybe it was just the first day??? Will see

Have a wonderful weekend

Just wanted to ask if you all got a schedule or does your RE decide what's next with each visit?

Ninde- I will be using Prometrium caps this time 3X a day. My clinic reports increased success rates of 10% higher since they switched from the progesterone shots, which I really did not like. Hoping the caps will work better, but not looking forward to doing meds 3X a day. Also will use the vivelle dot as well. At 2 every other day now and will be up to 4 a day by next week. Have not caught the bad driver yet. Since school is out it has stopped so I think it may be one of the kids my DD carpools with to school. I am always hungry here. Hot flashes make me want shaved ice constantly. When your pregnant next month you will not worry about the extra pounds a bit. :D

Kiwi- I got a schedule down to the wire. So far both times I followed it precisely, but I have not had any issues. Hoping that continues. My side effects have eased up a bit, but i have noticed certain things really irritate me more.

Kiwi: I get an estimated schedule - on day 21 of period start the down regulating nasal spray. Baseline 2/3 weeks after that and mine is this wed, all being well I start stimms on wed for approx 14 nights and retrieval sometime during the latter part of the week of the 20th. It really seems to depend on how well I stimm. Last time wasnt so good so om hoping this time is better.

Suzyq: that's interesting about the pio shots. We dont really use them in ireland and also most clinics stop the progesterone on the day of a positive beta which i know is very different than in the States. I've actually fought with my clinic and this time if the test is positive they say I can keep the progesterone going til week 10 but they are adament it makes no differece and insist that new studies are showing that - even in tne States. I asked why then do the american clinics still do it and was told that they are finding it hard to roll it back because people expect it and also because they can charge for it. I dont know but if i get a bfp I want to give myself every chance. My first pregnancy was a lovely strong first beta of 515 (we only do one) and they were really shocked I had a missed miscarriage so if progesterone was a factor I want to try something different. Phew, rant over!! How is the lupron affecting you today?

Hi,

Ia year ago we were living in the Netherlands and wanted to try a cycle there and I was surprised how different it would have been. Not only do they only allow one egg to. Be transferred - no discussion! And they wanted to do the retrieval in the clinic and my DH was suppossed to go to a different clinic 40 miles away to give his sample and then take it himself and drive it back. I thought that so weird and risky- eh at if there is a traffic jam or alike? So I am glad to be back at my familiar clinic.
However, in the Netherlands with insurance it would have been sooooo cheap compared to here. I think it was around EUR 2,000 and meds and there would be like half the bloodwork and US.

I will have to take the progesterone the whole first 12 weeks if we are successful. I hate it but also don't want to change anything since I was so lucky last time.

Doing a lot better with the lupron now. I am moody but my sister said I am always that way - hah hah.
