I have been browsing this site for sometime now and have found all your posts to be so helpful and reassuring, so I thought that it was about time that I joined in!
I am currently on the 2ww as well, ET was on the 15th and my test date is the 30th July. I just can't believe how much the time is dragging by! This is our 1st try at Ivf, I had 2 unsuccessful IUI's last year. It is such a nerve racking time I feel totally paranoid about every little twinge!
I am a bit concerned that everyone else on their 2ww seems to be using pessaries. I'm at St Mary's in Manchester and haven't been given any of these! I had to have a pregnl injection on the 17th but that's it. Is anyone else out there the same as me?
Welcome and good luck - pop over to the july testing thread and join the mad lot there - I keep nagging them not to test early but do they listen?
Good luck - the first 2ww is a nightmare and not sure they get any better - let's hope you only need the one! As for the pessaries - they are used most places but not all use them - I have had natural FET's and not had any drugs or pessaries so try not to worry that you are missing out.
There is talk that there are not really needed at all but think they just give a boost and a mental pick me up if that makes sense.
Anyway off to lounge in the garden before it rains.
Take care
Love
Tracey

Hi Lindsay - I am on my 2ww and I test tomorrow the 21st. Good luck to you. I am not really sure what pessiarys are. I take an injection of PIO every nite and take a projestirone suppository every nite as well. What if any symtoms do you have so far? You may feel like AF cramps and tender bb's. hang in there it's a loooonnnngggg 2 weeks.
I'm at St Mary's too (I'm downregging for 2nd ICSI at the moment, and hoping that EC will be around 5 Aug).
They did give me pessaries last time, but not the Pregnyl inj. I wonder if it's one or the other ? As Tracey says, not everyone has the pessaries. If you're really worried though, it wouldn't do any harm just to give the nurses a quick call.
Best of luck for 30th !

3rd cycle FET........May 05 -ve.
4th cycle (ICSI) ... Feb 06 -ve
5th cycle FET ..... Feb/Mar 11
Tracey - I'll try not to worry too much! It's really hard though!
Tammi - I do have AF type cramps and tender bb's but I seem to have had these feelings since Friday (day after ET) so I keep thinking that they can't mean anything! Just trying to say positive! Lots and lots of luck for tomorrow, I'll keep everything crossed for you!
Sandra - It's good to see some one else at St Mary's too! The nurses are really friendly aren't they. I gave the nurses a call this afternoon and Jean advised that they do give either one or the other it just depends on how many eggs they recover (I had 9). Everytime I call them (which isn't too often honest!) I always seem to speak to Jean - she must think that I'm totally paranoid!
Good Luck with everything, let me know how you get on.
Hi, Lindsey, this is my first day posting too!
My ET was on the 17th and I get tested on the 27th, so it looks like we are waiting together!
I'm from the US, are pessaries progesterone? If so I'm taking it. I read that when you go through IVF, because all of the follicles are drained they will not produce progesterone normally that's why you need to be supplemented. Are you going for a blood progesterone test on day 5 PT?
I know this week is really dragging!!!

I've heard that the Progesterone suppositories are much easier than the injections...unfortunately my Dr ordered the shots where the progesterone is packed in oil. I've heard (from a friend who went through this 5 times), that the oil is not easily absorbed into the body and that you have to use heating pads and massage to get rid of the lumps
This friend did 4 cycles in Chicago and ended up going to Colorado for her 5th cycle...which worked. This particular clinic has a 60+% success rate with fresh cycles. If this one doesn't work...I think we're considering going there. I don't know how many times I can do this and it's only the first time!
My clinic wanted me to use the progesterone in oil injections as well. I expressed how unhappy I was with that on the last go so we compromised. They let me do the injections for the 5 nights before the transfer then, after the transfer, I switched over to suppositories. I'm going to do the same thing for this FET. Part of me is afraid that not using the injections was what caused my -tive last time but I know that's impossible since plenty of people don't do the injections at all and get +tives!
Regarding the injections, I hope your DH will be doing them for you?! I didn't think they were pleasant but not painful and nowhere near as bad as I expected. I didn't end up with any welts or anything. Then again, I guess maybe that happens if one is doing them night after night. I ordered this stuff called EMLA cream which completely numbs the area before the injection so you can't feel it. It's a prescription cream which you can ask your Dr. for. I just went ahead and ordered it without a prescription online. I'd highly recommend it.
Welcome to the website - you have joined a super support network of girls who are going through exactly the same as you and if there are any things you need to ask there will always be someone with an answer.
I am on my 2ww and I am on day 9. I had ET on the 12th and my test day is the 26th. I have had AF cramps but my boobs are not sore at all.
I am trying to be positive but it is so hard. I have had 2 hypnotherapy sessions but I am not sure if it's made a difference.
I have to do the pessaries as well and I find them much easier than the injecting of the progesterone in oil which I had to do on my 1st IVF treatment.
I will put your test date on the June/July testers thread. There are so many of us now.
Best of luck

Hi Staci! I'm in Southern NJ, where are you?
Talking about injections, I'm so so so glad to be done with them! At one point I was giving myself 4 different shots a day. PIO shots sound lousy but these drippy suppositories are a pain too. Do you all get up 15 min early in the morning to put it in and lay down??
Dagny, good luck to you. I know how you feel, I had really sore boobs and couldn't even turn over in bed without pain and now nothing. Plus I had lots of energy last night. Hopefully it's just because our embies haven't taken over yet..
