Alicia - good luck with your appointment on Monday. I hope it goes well.
Jane - Do you think the accupuncture has made any difference to you? Your treatment will come round in no time, I'm sure you'll be ok for your scan on the 26th, especially if you've already had Zoladex then 6 days of sniffing. Fingers crossed.
Staci - I had been on the pill constantly since my last failure in March and went straight on to the Buserlin injections on the day I finished the pill, I had been taking the injections for 10 days when they said I was ready to start the HRT, have always taken much longer than that before. 10 days sounds ok. I think a new puppy warrants a positive result as does being a big fat bridesmaid. Good luck starting downregging tomorrow, injections or spray?
Dolly - How are you, good luck with the consultant tomorrow.
I had my first mood swing today (well hormonal one anyway) and started crying because I wanted to go for a walk and my husband didn't, it was like a childs tantrum I'm sure I even stamped my feet. I think my husband thinks I'm mental, which may well be right just now.
Has anyone else noticed that they have no concentration / attention span what so ever, or is it just me.
I have been away for a couple of days and it is great to see that there are a few of us going in August.
After years of putting it off we've just bought leather sofas- so does that warrant a +ve result!!! I thought when we bought them - these are not going to be practical if we have a baby....
Jane, it will be interesting to hear if you think acupuncture helps. I have had one session of hypnotherapy to try and keep me stress free (I hate injections and have to inject buserelin and progesterone as well this time aaarrggghhh).
Wendy, I always find it difficult to concentrate on anything when treatment starts - especially work!!!!
Hope you're all well

1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th IVF all -ve
Moved to the ARGC.
Just started for the 7th time (!) Feb/March 2006.
Can I join the August cycle buddies too? I've just started a weird protocol that I didn't know existed (but then this is my first go, so what the hell do I know) - its not long protocol but not quite short protocol. I started down-reg'ing with suprefact injections (instead of sniffing) last Thursday and if all goes according to plan I start the stim injections on Friday - so it'll be morning and evening injections and very bruised thighs for me! ET likely around 7 - 9th Aug, I think. 9th is DH's birthday so maybe that would be a good day for it.
So far I'm feeling fine but have to drink loads of water else I get a headache from the dehydration. My clinic has also told me to drink a litre of milk a day (for the protein apparently) which is a bit of a problem as I can't stand milk "neat". I've been managing half litre bottles of chocolate milkshake and a lot of yoghurt so far. Anyone else on this?
Anyhow, looking forward to cycling with you and fingers crossed for all of us. And good luck and keep your spirits up to all those July-ers on their 2wws.
DH gave me my first injection of Lupron to downreg this morning. I was a bit worried he wouldn't remember how to do it but he was perfect. I remember how frightened I was of the injections the first time around since it was all new to me. It was nice to at least not be stressed out about the shot itself this time! I just wish this whole process went along faster as I'm not feeling very patient!
Dolly,
You know, I never even considered furniture. We just bought all new furniture last year when we moved and spent far more than we should have on white fabric covered dining room chairs! Anyway, good for you on getting your leather couch. I'm sure we'd probably both consider the destruction of our furniture a small price to pay in exchange for +tives.
In my case, I am worried that the puppy we are planning to get will wreck the furniture first anyway!
Wendy,
I'm sure your DH realizes your mood swings are due to the medications. I remember that, during my first attempt, mine was rather alarmed at first when he saw me break down in tears while making the bed because I couldn't get the sheet on straight! After a few weeks, he was used to me crying over nothing.
Welcome to our little group of August buddies! I hate milk, too. Your tmt sounds great in that it will be shorter than 2 months. That's great, since it is so hard to do all the waiting in any tmt. Best of luck for this one to be it!!!
All,
Thank you so much for your well wishes for our appt today. It went great! I am now officially an August Cycle Buddy!!!!! We'll be doing a natural FET cycle. Hoping for ET on Aug 13 or similar, assuming enough embies make it through thawing. We have 5 potentials and are going for 3 or 4 for the ET.
SO EXCITED to be back on the schedule!!! Now the 2ww (hopefully not more) for AF. One possible wrench - if AF very late I'll miss the deadline before the clinic closes their lab for 2 weeks for upgrading. But no reason to think AF will be late...

TTC 2.5 years - Me 38 no tubes; DH 32
1st- IVF June 2004 - early MC
2nd - FET Aug 2004 - Twin boys born April 25, 2005!!!
I'm guessing my ET will end up being around Aug. 16 assuming all goes as planned with the meds (doing a medicated FET) so we can try to keep each other sane on the 2 ww!
We have 7 embies left and they're frozen in straws of 2/2/3 so I'm hoping that, if we thaw the 3, we'll end up with 2 for transfer and will be able to save the others for another attempt.
Hello...you all sound so hyped and ready to go...I'll start a September thread in a couple of weeks if no one else does, so we'll be hot on your heels and wanting to follow lots of ++++++++++++ please!
Caroline....how are you with milk-shakes? I ask because there's a sneaky protein trick you can pull by adding milk-powder to the shake, you still get the calcium and protein but you don't have to drink the extra fluid as it goes in dry and helps bulk out the shake. It's called 'Double-The-Milk-Shake' and comes from a pg book called 'What to expect when you're expecting'. They suggest 250fl low/fat free milk, 4 tablespoons of non/low fat milk powder, a frozen/chilled banana or berries or frozen orange and whizz!! Hope this helps.
Staci - you've been on the world's longest protocol! I'm so glad everything is finally starting now. Good luck with the shots/jabs.
Alicia - pma with AF dates. I'm sure it will come on time.
Dolly - leather sofas are incredibly practical with kids. Everything will just wipe off vs. soaking in and staining. Good call!!!
Hi to Jane and Wendy and all the other August buddies.
love
Debra.
Me: 44, DH: 31
Game Over.
Dates: Aug 02 - May 06
Tries: 5 fresh + 4 frozen.
Results: 1 daughter, 2 m/c, 1 ectopic.
Alicia, many congrats on making it on to the Aug cycle - must be a relief to get that bit of the waiting over with. And Debra thanks very much for the milk powder tip, I'll definitely give that a try.
Anyone know if it's just coincidence that I seem to be breaking out in spots?! Hope you're all doing well out there.
After spending months on the sidelines, I'm actually atarting treatment. Started down regging (long protocol) at the start of July and all being well should start stimming at the end of the month. Just picked all the drugs up today, there's loads of them and it makes me a little nervous.
So glad you'll be joining us! I was horrified when I got the shipment of medications. But you do get used to it, really. It becomes just part of the daily routine. I was amazed how few side effects/mood swings and diffuculties we had.
Caroline,
Spots? I did have the occasional hives while on the Follistim. But I get hives all the time, from eating some foods, being in the sun... so I wasn't worried about it. If it gets bad, you should ring your consultant/doctor to ask.
Good luck to all!

Hi Everyone
I hope you don't mind me joining in. I am doing the flare protocol which meant I started downregging injections this morning and start the stim injections this evening. No idea how long this will take but I think about 2 weeks to EC. I am having to drink a litre of milk a day and also 3 litres of water!!! Good luck to all the other August cycle buddies it is good to have other people to go through this with that really understand.
Hi Ellie and welcome to this rapidly growing band of August cyclers. I seem to be on a similar protocol to yours, except I've had a week extra of down reg'g injections on their own. I hope I'm going to start the stim injections tomorrow, all being well. Sounds like we could be on for EC at about the same time, maybe you'll be a day or two ahead of me. I've had the three litres of water, litre of milk instructions too (in fact they're so identical that I wonder if we're at the same clinic. I'm at the ARGC in London). I got some great advice from Debra about adding milk powder to milkshakes to get the extra protein in on the sly - scroll up and you'll find it. I'm going to try it as soon as I make the effort to go to the supermarket. I've also discovered that 3 Babybel cheeses are about the same as half a litre of milk, so they make a handy standby. I'm not finding the water thing too difficult as I get a real headache if I don't drink it.
