Isobel- so true we thought oh we pay all this money we have all bets that this is going to work on the first try. I honestly don't know how everyone affords IVF. Some states do provide medical coverage but the majority don't and it leaves us with no choice unfortunately but to pay out of pocket. I've heard of some ladies moving out of the country to India for medical treatment but it would stress me out just pondering over doing something like that. I would have to personally know someone to stay with or have family there. IVF is the hardest thing any woman ever has to endure, my mother calls me everyday now because she knows how many times I've pleed for this to work. It's a tough road to be on but until you've followed this journey it's often hard for people to understand and that's why we have each other here. Thank you for being a part of our journey here too. BTW I actually commute to Mobile for procedure but reside in Panama City but LOVE the drive through Santa Rosa beach. lol not too many condominums on that part of the drive (and sometimes if I'm not working) I'll treat myself to Destin's awesome outlet shopping. :D

PH- Please let us know as soon as you find out, I'm still concerned why you've been bleeding. It just doesn't make sense and I wish I had an answer, tomorrow cannot get here soon enough. For my first cycle we also paid out of pocket for everything plus the cost of meds for just one cycle. Two years later we finally found a way to get a loan for the IVF ATTAIN program. Down here in Florida insurance doesn't cover IVF so this was our only way, I wish we would of done this sooner but we're in the "unexplained fertility" group and we had to exhault IUIs first, so much more affordable then IVF. Crazy how I wish our doctor could actually find something wrong just so we would have a true diagnosis. I used to think IVF respectfully was only for the ladies who had major endometriosis or fallopian tube trouble ect... Anyway we have been told dh has inconsistant sperm counts but ICSI takes care of that. We have been told my thyroid levels are a tiny bit too high so I started taking thyroid med (levothyroxine) August 2011 and honestly cannot tell a difference. *They tested last April and said the levels were at the range the clinic "prefers" so I'm still taking the Levothyroxine and said once a pregnancy happens the dosage will increase. I was told though that my anitbodies are too high bc my body thinks I'm sick which fights off good cells...but I rarely get sick physically so I still question that. :?: I did a health assessment to enroll for Blue Cross at work and my bloodwork came back that I was healthy. As for levothyroxin I thought for sure the med would help me gain weight but nada, I also questioned 2 different doctors about my weight. I'm 5'9, 120 pounds but they tested and ovulation is fine, and have regular cycle every 28 days. They tell me my innerparts look textbook perfect. It's frustrating because they cannot find anything wrong. That's my journey so far in a nutshell... I'm given 6 cycles until my 38th birthday, the IVF ATTAIN gives me a little peace of mind knowing that everything (except the meds is financed) but it also provides a sense of a timeline before moving onto adoption. Sorry I wrote a novel but maybe this will help IF needed, I still have everything crossed that this is our cycle but we have to be cautiously optimistic. X

Kynlee- Thank you for checking in on us over here, it means alot, Keep on praying strong girl. X

PH- How did your doctor's visit go today, thinking of you. X

Thank you Isobel for showing a geniune interest in our forum. it's pretty obvious most (but not all) the girls I formerly cycled with since 2010 have pretty much moved on. That's ok though I found alot of them on facebook and it's been like a reunion this week. However My goal here is to keep this board going only because I know there will be newbies and others who need the continued support just as much as I do. This road is long but I know we're never alone.
Sincerely,
Christy

Hi ladies! I just wanted to offer support and glad you're keeping things going around here. I don't know what I would have done without this forum through my treatments. I was really lucky to been able to build a family through ivf and have been so touched over the years by the support I received from this forum. I was amazed that even women who have been through the hardest of times have it within them to support others along the journey. And I hope that it is always a home for newcomers and others who have traveled hard paths. Baby dust to all and I just wanted you to know that even when it seems quiet some of us are still lurking out here- cheering you on!!

Now--- back to TTC at home in hopes for a final addition

Hello Christy
I think you are doing a great job keeping this board going for newcomers. I think it is quite daunting for some ladies at first, especially at such an emotional time. A friendly welcome and real understanding is just what is needed. It was such a Godsend to my daughter over many months. I'm not sure if she ever actually posted, she was an active member on a British site attached to her hospital, but she got a great deal of comfort and help from this forum.. She ate lots of pineapple,a tip from here! I have a young friend going through IVF at the moment so still have a lot of interest.my daughter has 5 friends who have all had their families with this treatment. It seems so many people have problems.
Not long for you now. Keeping everything crossed for you.
Thank you Kynlee for your sweet reply. I am so glad all is well with you. How excited you must be.

Isobel-
That's so sweet of you and maybe you could refer those girls to our forum? I know they would love the support we offer here.

Kynlee- :D
Anxiously waiting but work was stressful with conference call, a ton of markdowns then setting up a new promotion and in the mist training a new girl. But one of the girls who is leaving (moving) came in for some boxes and had to ask me what I said to our boss...she went on and said she's been so nice to us since the meeting, I said that's good to hear, hopefully it will last but for some too little too late, since 4 people now out of 12 have already turned in their resignation and this is not counting the pg coworker who's maternity leave begins on Dec 21. But oh well, it's going to be an interesting next couple of weeks.
My clinic called today but I couldn't reach them in time before they closed, wish they would leave me detail info on my vm but it's probably confirmation about my appt on Thursday, no changes.

PH- It's been a few days since I've heard from you, is everything ok?

Tawny- Thank you girl, I'm thinking isn't your cycle coming soon? :D

Sdtryingagain- Thank you for stopping by, I hope you are doing well too! Update us when you can. :D

Hey ladies!

Well I christy everything us going well for you. My news is not so great...but not errible the blood test only showed my progesterone was a little low but the ultrasound showed there was still e ough endometrium for pregnancy to be possible. Basically no answer. I'm still bleeding pretty much a period I'm nottoo hopeful but saying my prayers won't know until Sunday pt #1 tues next week pt#2 so it's a waiting game. Dr was encouraging says he's seen it before but it could be an uphill battle so I'm taking no news as good news for now. I won't abandon this thread christy thanks for the positivity's how is your journey going?

Paully – I am so sorry you are bleeding, when is your beta scheduled for?

Tawny – How are you going? When will you start your cycle?

We have Hope – I am hanging there, my husband and I scheduled a vacation in 2 weeks, hopefully that will make us feel better.

Christy – Tomorrow is the big day mama!

AFM – I don’t think I want to cycle again, we have been talking about adoption and will talk to the social worker from the clinic tomorrow. I may do one last cycle, maybe at CCRM just to make sure I tried it all, even one of the best places in the country… I am waiting to schedule an telephone appointment with Dr Schoolcraft. I heard they are good with difficult cases.
