Crashing...

Has anyone heard from Leora? I understand that she's probably taking a break from this place but I know that some of you probably see her on Facebook. How is she doing? She's been on my mind, especially now as the holidays approach.

Barbara,

So happy to hear from you. These boards have been wat top quiet. Leora is over in The IVF Facrbook Group. She Us doing as well as can be expected after another horrible loss. But she's right back on the IVF bandwagon and doing another cycle. How are you doing? Do you have a facebook account? I would love to add you to my friends list do we can keep in touch that way. No IVF talk on my page just sharing family photos and especially photos and video clips of the girls :)

Alwaysangel-registry tips. Ahh, I think I do. Hope these help.

Put plenty of diapers on your list. All sizes. I would stay away from newborn. Babies grow fast and most can fit just fine in a size one. I love pampers swaddlers and pampers baby dry.

Put plenty of wipes on your list. I love pampers sensitive.

Put plenty of diaper cream. You'll need it with every change. I love Desatin.

Crib-spend a little more but get one that converts into a toddler Ned and a twin. Or full size bed. Totally worth the investment.
You want to make sure you add things like plenty of bibs, pup cloths (cloth diapers are great for this), sheets, baby shampoo, towels, wash cloths, first aid kit, etc,,

I like the forehead or temporal thermometers but a rectal one is s must have.

Don't feel bad about adding the big items? you'll be surprised how friends get together and chip in got the big items.

Add things like highchair (I like the baby trend folding high chair) it has three recining positions. My Girls ate ydibg then already.

Bottles ask for the 9 oz ones. No merd for the 4oz ones they are a waste. You can put 2oz of milk in the 9oz bottle plus they are easier to hold when feeding. Ask for various nipples. I like the Avent Natural bottles. Make sure whatever you use is BPA free.

I got the baby bullet. Great if your amni g on making your own purée instead of buying the jar baby food.

Clothing-ounsies and sleep n and plays are all babies use for a long time. Don't go crazy with clothes they grow rally fast. One tip, get the sleep m plays with zippers. So much easier to change baby then the ones with the buttons.

I will come back later and add more tips. There are so many :)

Always- Yes we picked out our crib at babies r us I absolutely love it and it converts so its a plus :) I also got the Graco travel system I loved that the best I took it for a test drive in store, make sure you try them before you register it to make sure you like the way it feels :) Also put a 2nd carseat attachment on registery so you dont have to unlock yours when DH picks up the baby for you :) I went with the Dr Brown bottles my family all loved those and I am breastfeeding so I am rentingt he pump from the hospital all I have to do it purchase the new tubing for 30dollars and then they bill you about 15 or 20 per month to rent the machine, figure this way if it didnt work out at i didnt waste money on a $300 pump :) I been doing my registry section by section cause its so overwhelming so I been there about 4 times and have about 2 more trips to finish it then I will relook at the list to see if i missed anything and if I should add anything... DH did the baby furniture and the carriages etc with me and the little stuff I took different people to let them be involved... :) My cousin did the breastfeeding part with me so I new what I would need besides the machine she was a great help since she new everything about it :) Good luck registering :)

hi girls, sorry I have been mia for a bit again :)

I am 36 weeks today and so happy to have gotten here. Doing ok just tired now

Angel I would love to add to the suggestions as there were things I had to learn the hard way you absolutely have to have.
1. For me Dr Brown's bottles were the only ones that worked well....no gas, spit up or any of that. We started out trying different bottles but quickly realized all the others were not as good at preventing tummy aches.
2. I bought my breast pump (the medela) and could not have survived without it. Paul was not latching well for months so I pumped and put it into bottles for him. I did have to pump 10 times a day sometimes and even in my car if we were going somewhere as mine plugged into the car...it was the best thing I ever bought. Also if you have trouble breastfeeding at first this is an excellent option so you don't get discouraged and quit. I honestly believe that breastfeeding Paul kept him from getting sick the first 9-10 months of his life.

3 I also noticed that moms of girls tend to like Pampers more but moms of boys prefer huggies...I think it has something to do with the anatomy...lol Pampers never worked well for my boys and they were always wet and woke up and cried....so try both diapers and see what works for you....as for diaper cream I would strongly urge you to have Aquaphore and Triple paste which CURE diaper rash in 1-2 treatments ....for me deserin did not help...

4 Beware of certain Graco/chico travel systems....try pushing on the car seat from different directions or tilting the stroller...some will easily come out/fall out

5. For car seats make sure there is enough seat belt to grow and if you wanna save a buck check that your car seat can also face forward....both mistakes we paid for later...lol As temps dropped and we put a snowsuit on Paul his car seat would no longer buckle because there was not enough seat belt....then once he reached one we wanted to turn his seat around and found out it could not be turned...
6. you will survive much easier with a good swing and bouncer http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... Id=2508008
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... Id=4360509

we used these two products after trying many others and these two literally bought us hours of peace and quiet. We tried other swings but the motor always died...with this swing Paul has used it since he was a month old and STILL swings in it from time to time even though he is 24lb now. As for the bouncer...we used it right away...we could take it with us from room to room and Paul loved falling alseep to it when the vibration mode was on. As he got bigger he started enjoying the toys and lights too...

ok well it is now 5 AM and I guess I should sleep a little...lol Sorry I don't post more often but I read daily and I send you girls my prayers for healthy and happy pregnancies and deliveries :)

Forgot to post about my Dr appt on Friday here is what he said :)

My fibroids are not shrinking which is what he was hoping for but unstead growing with the 2nd one catching up to the first one... My son is breach and since my fibroids are on opposite sides the baby doesnt have much room to turn so he may stay breach... The Dr is already thinking csection but will let me know when I am further along... I know have to start getting U/S every 4 weeks so he can monitor the fibroids and babys position, I am not worried since the Dr said he will be monitoring closely... I also will see him every 2 weeks for a check up and talk about each u/s...

Hope everyone is doing well :)
