Lauren- how are things going? Did you get everything straightened out with the doctor and nurse? Oh and on the PIO shots, so I have a needle phobia....I know, a great thing to have while going through IVF. Anyways, I've been using the numbing cream for ALL my shots, but it is awesome for the butt shots. Everyone does it differently, but if you are interested in more info, just let me know. it's called EMLA cream and you can only get it with a script, it's not expensive and it's TOTALLY worth not having to feel the shots. I combine the cream with some ice(the last 15 mins of the cream being on my butt) and I typically don't feel anything. I still stress out before each shot, but that's just my phobia talking....so I can honestly say that they aren't a big deal, BUT only because I use the numbing cream :P

Zdia- I never got OHSS, but the girls that did talked about drinking gateraide(not sure why I can't spell it....maybe because I don't drink it so I can't remember how to spell it) and chips..... and one of the girls talked about a super yummy smoothy you can make with pineapple, mint, water and ice.....I think that was all that was in it. Good luck with this cycle. Is the doctor changing your dosages or your meds?

Pocos- you still out there? Can you share your pineapple yummy stuff recipe with us again?

Christy- So I don't know about you, but I'm super mad that I didn't win the powerball thingy. I don't ever play, but my hubby is religious about buying tickets. He doesn't buy many, but does buy. I was dreaming of paying off all of our debt, quitting work and starting another cycle quickly....oh well, my dream bubble was popped. I'm assuming you didn't win either unless you drove to Ohio or Arizona to get your ticket....I think those were the 2 states, right?

Leora- how are things looking with your cycle this round?

AFM- Well, I finally broke down and went to my regular doctor today and he put me on antidepressants. I'm hoping that will help get me out of the funk that I am in. We shall see. I sent my IVF nurse an email late today, so hopefully I'll hear back from her on Monday to figure out when we can start the next cycle...trying to figure out when we would have to pay for it will make a difference if we start with my period in December or Jan, but I'm pretty sure at the latest, we will start the cycle with the BCP with my period in late Jan. I have been enjoying my acupuncture and am hoping that it is making a difference. Sorry if I missed anyone.....

Lauren- How is everything going for you over there? I hope everything worked out and you are stimming as we speak. :D Keep us posted over here too.

Zdia- Welcome you will finds tons of support here, we are glad to have you! :D I've never had OHSS but I have a close friend who did but after 11 cycles (including IUI and IVF together) she is now 6 months pregnant. Occassionally she post over here but I know hearing from her would help. I'll try to send her a text to ask her to give you some advice in a little bit. :D

LauraN- Yep I was pretty bummed out that I didn't win the lottery with my first ever power ball ticket. I had these high expectations that it would take all my worries go away, well at least the clinic bills anyway! I am pretty upset that I got a bill in the mail yesterday when the IVF ATTAIN program is supposed to cover everything. Come Monday I will figure everything out. I think the winning tickets were Arizona and MIssouri but I was geographically misplaced and apparently was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh well my mom keeps telling me not to worry with buying all my neices and nephews Christmas presents this year, what are ya'll thoughts on that? We're not planning on traveling home, we only see them once a year I think their parents would be the only ones who would probably notice, but honestly they do have everything they really need. I'm thinking about sending out Christmas cards instead and invite them down to see us when their kids get out of school. It's hard to know the right thing to do, but it's hard when we have so much to worry about esp. right now..still trying to figure out dh's job situation. I feel guilty even talking to him about all this stuff, I often think about running away far from everything. Sometimes I lay there thinking how glad I'm not comuting to the clinic right now, but it's tough with the waiting at the same time. I try to settle and separate "wants from needs" and even dh tells me all we really need is the essentials: water, food and shelter to survive. I just need stability in life to feel normal that's all. But then again can anyone describe normal to me???? On a postiive note it's less then 30 days until the new year and I know many will continue cheering us on until we bring home our babies in 2013! Stay strong ladies we WILL get through this journey together!!!

Hi Ladies!!!!

Ok work was super busy the last two days!! Thursday I got a call from the billing dept at my RE office. Getting all that straightened out finally! I was able to get the IVF nurse on the phone and tell her my concerns. She said he wants to give my body more of natural chance at producing eggs and start me on cd 5 whoch was yesterday! So Follistim 150 for fri, sat, sun and back to the RE on mon for bw & u/s. Im really nervous with such little aounts of drugs Im thinking I have a high possibility of a canceled cycle bc I respond so poorly :( IDK hes the doctor right??? :( They ordered me Menopur and cetrotide so at some point im sure I will be adding those in!

Laura-thanks for the info on the cream. I only have to do one shot IM my progesterone is supps. Your RE wont allow supps? Especially with your phobia?? Im thinking im gonna ask one of the nurses at work to give me my shot! I know I cant do it and DH is def NOT! LOL

Christy-DARN........thought we won the lottery!!!! LOL I am nervous abt this protocol...afraid I will get cxl. started stims last night but only 150 Follistim..Yes We are bringing our babies home in 2013!! I think its ok not to send presents. Im sure they will understand. You have A LOT going on right now and the kids will be just fine! I wonder what is normal too sometimes. Life is so crazy and i think is it me? or is everyone like this? Hang in there girl ..things always work out one way or another!! HUGS :D

zdia-WOW sounds like you have a TON of follies!!! when do you anticipate ER?? Im thinking mid-dec for me!

I gotta run...lots of errands, cleaning and laudry to catchup on!!

Hey NwQuiz, So exciting that you are talking about trying for a sibbling!! I would love to cycle with you in 2013! Work is keeping me very busy which is good so I don't dwell on IVF too much. The secret fb page Leora is talking about is called IVF Gals. Anyone who is interested just send me a message with your facebook name, I will add you as a friend, then invite you over to the group. Simple as that. :D

Hello Christy, I would take your mum's advice about presents. You have such a lot going on in your life just now and your family would surely understand. I am sure they would much rather come down to visit you.
We have a lottery here in Britain too. I buy one ticket every Saturday and am always sure this is 'the one'.Not yet anyway!
2013 is very close now. A new year with new beginnings. I am wishing all you girls success and happiness. 'Normal' is wonderful and not alot to ask for. You will get there, don't worry. X

sunshine yes hope to cycle with you hopefully 2013. that would be great wont it?
as for the gifts, i would just play it by ear. DOnt feel bad at all. sometimes circumstances force us to change our habits like gift giving. They wont even miss it like your mom said and if they do oh well life goes on. NOt being mean but priorities change sometimes.
As for work that is good makes the time go fast. Okay now off topic hope you dont mind me asking about the drama queen at your job.

Awwww you all are so loved, so glad we have this support group to get me through the holidays, but I'm still going to be the biggest cheerleader to the ladies cycling right now. I want some Christmas miracles over on this board!

Lauren- Happy Monday to you! Oh wow I can relate to what your going through. Seriously I thought the same thing with my last cycle that they are growing slowly but 2-3 days later (around cd11) I saw a major growth and you will too! My doctor let mine grow until they reached 18,19,20 in size and the other 10 caught up so we would have more to work with. The lining at 8 is good for 3 days of stimming, most likely you'll stim for a few more days if your doctor is like my RE, mine likes to see the lining around 10mm. My thoughts are you'll be monitored very closely with a few more days of stimming, but so far so good! The main thing is 13 is good and you don't have a follicle stealing all the glory, one who's leading the pack. I'm very happy with your results so far, I realy feel this is a good cycle for you girl. Keep us posted along the way, this is excitng!

nwquiz- I would LOVE to cycle with you in 2013!! I think you and Isobel are right on with gifts they will understand and if anything I can send out cards to each family this week. Ha it's going to be a busy week, I need to get 7 stockings made for work I want to made some cheetah stockings since it goes with my work motiff and I'm planning something for a work contest. As for the drama girl her maternity leave begins Christmas Eve. I've been more at peace since I've come to accept everything that has happened. I feel she deserves to find happiness too although sometimes I feel we would both be happy if she would just drop off the baby at the boutique. No seriously I listen to her and I hear her troubles, all her worries and I know this road isn't easy for her. She's constantly fighting with her ex-boyfriend (the soon to be dad). She moved out and is now with her high school sweetheart (from 10 yrs ago). She seems to be more stable with the high school sweetheart, he has a house and a descent job. She's been living with him for over a month now and when she went to his family's thanksgiving she was surprised how nice his family was to her. His mother had always liked her, she feels she accepts her as she is because she also had a kid at an early age. However this coworker is 26 yrs old, so she's a grown woman who's never seemed to get her life together and she always will have troubles especially with her past but I do feel for both of her kids. The oldest (4) lives with his dad in Mobile, Al (6 hours from her) and she had planned to have him with her this Christmas but with the new baby on the way she is not able to get to see her son. I feel mostly for the kids but it's really up to her to figure this all out. Basically the ex is scum bc he's not making any effort to provide a place for them to live (he currently is with his mom who has 6 cats and smokes) and he makes an average wage of $10 an hour. It would be one thing if he was trying to change his ways and help out more with responsibilities, but he sits on his behind and drinks all day and seems to have no motivation whatsoever. So there you have it, the latest on the pg coworker! I know many others have troubles too and we all suffer but it's up to each one of us to get out there and make a difference. I don't feel sorry for them because often enough I wish I could be in their shoes and have no problem having kids, but you know what there are times I bet they wish they were in ours. Isn't it crazy and completely deranged how life can seem??? So here we are making a stride to make a change and I know the ones who continue on will have success and bring home their baby. Prayer for patience and finding perserverance is the only way and I've seen that in so many of my cycle buddies. Let's toast to much happiness in
2013!

Isobel- Thank you again, your encouraging words mean so much! The other day I had my neighbor's little girl over who is 11 and we put up the tree together, she decorated the room in bears and made a sign for the tree that said "Have a Beary Merry Christmas." Everytime I walk into the room I smile because this little girl lights up my life. Anyway I fixed her dinner and we watched Wallace and Gromit together. She said do you remember the one time we turned our back for only a second and my dog ate her sandwich. I said yes and Blackjack really loved your grilled cheese sandwich. lol good times.

Hi Ladies!
I am new to the board here. Actually been stalking you gals for a few weeks now. Anyways, I will keep this one short and sweet. I was curious to know where the devotion forum Kynlee/Sunshine started? I would love to join that board, as I feel it would help get my mind and heart prepared for our first cycle (which will take place Jan/Feb 2013).
Thanks for any help on this and I am rooting for each of you cyclers!!! And I feel your heartbreaks too.

Hi Girls! It has been absolutely FAAAAAR TOO LOOOOONG for me to check in here :)

First, some personals...

WeHaveHope - I almost started crying when I saw your girls. Beautiful and congratulations!

Sunshine – Sorry about your last cycle :( It was good to finally catch up on all going on with you and please never lose the great positive attitude, even in hard times!

Leora - I didn't really see many updates from you in November but I hope all is well for you guys!

AFM - Where do I start. First with the good news, im 36 weeks pregnant today! We are expecting our baby boy on Jan 1st and are so blessed to have great doctors and support!

Hurricane Sandy hit us pretty bad as well. Home took a fair amount of damage but we are finally starting to get back to normal.

Well, I really wish all of you happy holidays and best of luck/wishes on this roller coaster journey we are going through. I'm sure Ill be back next year for Part 2 - The QUest For A Sibbling :)
