micro/mini ivf

Post by erthibodaux »

After speaking with my RE yesterday about prepping for another fresh ivf, he suggested that I may be an excellent candidate for the mini ivf considering our only issue is tubal factor and my ovaries responded very well during our IVF in 2008. He also says his success rates are very good for the mini. I have been doing quite a bit of research and find very mixed opinions. They will be testing my ovarian reserve later this week and I have scheduled a consult with him next month to decide whether or not we will sign up for the April cycle. We are paying OOP and can afford to pay for the mini now but not until the end of the year for a full cycle. I was hoping to find some personal stories and/or opinions.....

A little background......

Fresh ivf#1.....24 eggs retrieved, 19 mature, 15 fert, 2 put back and 4 frozen

Hi Emily,

I recently just did a micro protocol I guess. My RE wanted to do less stimulation. Said the eggs and environment end up being of better quality that way. Well after 3 ivf failed my micro dose got me my first BFP! I started atoms on day 5 of cycle. And only got a few eggs but it only took one good one:) it was less stress and less meds! I loved it compared to my first 3. I think every RE does things different and there are many different protocols but that's what I did!!

Best wishes!
