Frozen embryo transfer

Post by nmuller »

I had a frozen cycle on December 10th and was over joyed to hear that after 3 blood tests that we were definitely pregnant! I went yesterday for my first U/S and we saw the sack and folipe pole but no heart beat. The doctor is giving us a 50% chance that the pregnancy is viable. Is it possible it was just too early?
Has anyone else experienced this scenario? My husband and I are trying to keep faith!

Hi!

Congrats!!! Do you know how many weeks u are? I know its tough when its so early. I just had my ultrasound yesterday and the tech told me within the 6th week u can see a fetal pole an heartbeat but every pregnancy is different. Try not to stress. I know easier said than done!

Keep us posted!

Hello,
From what I read sometimes you do not hear the heartbeat until 9 sometimes 10 weeks. Like Lauren said, every pregnancy is different. When you do go back for a follow up?

They said I was 6 weeks and two days, we saw the fetal pole as well just no heartbeat. The doctor did not seem optimistic and said 50% chance the pregnancy is no longer viable.
Thank you for the comments and we are praying it was just a few days to early! My transfer was on December 10th.

Good luck to you as well!

Hi,

I'm in the same situation with you, only difference is that I am supposed to be 8weeks by now. Last scan at 8w showed a fetal pole and a gestational sac of 13.5mm. Thats all my doctor told me.

Read online that the sac size is small, it should be about 24mm by 8w. The doc didnt say anything about a heartbeat except to come again in 2 weeks to see if there is any.

What do I make out of it?? Going mad with the waiting...

I do hope that you get good news... that would give all of us more hope :)

By 7 weeks with a vaginal u/s there should be a HB >100bpm it's still possie at 6w2d you were too early. Could have been one the next day that's how quickly things change

nmuller-- every pregnancy is different. I think it is way too early at 6 weeks to be making an predictions that would be helpful. Helpful is the operative word here-- stats are only helpful when we are trying to make decisions in our healthcare, right? Like whether or not to do IVF, use DE, which protocols, etc? But right now you have no choices, right? All you can do is wait :( Don't put any mental energy looking at statistics they'll drive you nuts.

Remember that after they put that babe inside of you, you are PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise!!) and the only way they can prove otherwise is to show that your babe has stopped growing which it hasn't. Sounds like there are several people on the board right now hangin' out to see if their bean is growing properly...ugh, the wait is killer, at least we can keep each other company!! :)

Hi,
I'm new to this, I had my frozen transfer last tues 8/01/13 and did a home preg test this morning and am feeling abit gutted as it was negative, I have my blood test booked for thurs morning (17th) but to be honest I really don't think it's gonna be any different! I'm regretting only tranfering one embryo, I should of gone with two! I have 11 frozen embryo's (day 5) so can try again.
How many embryo's did you transfer ?

Hey Every One I am new to this board, but definately new to IVF. Heres my story....

Had a fresh Ivf cycle done back in 2009 I was 25 yrs old MFI, had 32 eggs retrieved, 29 fertilized but 10 actually were frozen due to the good quality, my drs office has awesome rates, well they transfered two embys and got my twins born dec of 09 boy/grl. Its now 2013 ready to do one more blast transfer via FET, I have one day 5 and 9 day 6 blasts left all good/good quality like the quality of my twins. Had my Transfer on Mar 13, 13 and am 9dpt and have been POAS since monday which I knew was early (5dpt) all bfn, so I took a test yesterday and today and unfortunately bfn again I am going in Monday for beta 2 days earlier then normal to hopefully switch to progesterone supps instead of inj, I am heartbroken  its gonna come back neg. I have been reading on ivf/fet boards some women get bfn on all hpt but end up bfp when they draw blood for beta, can anyone share stories and give me hope back, I know with all the horomones its nuts but I am way more emotional then I was before the transfer being on estrogen and progestrone, my face has glow but looks like it has dark markings too, I am not ready for news of a negitive, thanks! :(

I have posted here for years and seen many stories of women with BFN with HPT who had BFP in the blood test. A negative HPT at this point does not prove failure. Of course, it would have been better to see a positive by this point.

If this cycle does not work out, you have a lot of frozen blasts remaining, so your overall chance of success is very good.

Good luck to you.
