Madame- I am talking to my Dr about the whooping cough shot on Weds so I will see what his opinion is, but i hate all these vaccines kinda makes me nervous who knows what i sreally in them... I probably gained at least 10 in the past month too, I dont know where the wight is going since I am all belly but I go up about 3lbs every couple weeks...

SD- I think I would have your MIL go with you, or maybe a close friend... I know its personal getting a vag u/s but usually a sheet is over you and maybe they can call in once they have the sheet over you? I wouldnt want to be alone either and If my DH wasnt around. I think everything will be ok though... I think I would at least have your MIL just sit in waiting room and they can call her in if they dont get the heartbeat? At least you will know someone is close by for you if you need someone...

Sd- The twins are good I think?? I don't realy feel prego just yet. There are a few signs but it's still early. I am learning alot just by reading the books and online information. Twins is still kind of overwhelming since it's my first pregnancy it's all new to me lol. About the ultrasound. Personally I wouldn't mind if my MIL was in the room with me. So far with my experiance the u/s are usualy pretty descreat being vaginal and all. I have asked my DH if he get's uncomfertable with it and he says no he doesn't pay attention to the girls putting the prob in. After that he says he just enjoys looking at the screens. I would deffinently rather have the MIL there then no one at all.

Thanks tawny for the feedback, it makes me feel less wired about having her there and I totally don't want to go it alone.

Early pregnancy is a hard time since you can't feel the little beans but soon they'll be kickin you each day letting you know they are okay! I imagine having a twin pregnancy as a first pregnancy is stressful. One good thing about ivf forums is that there are plenty of twin mommies to offer support! The funny thing is you are gonna go from feeling overwhelmed and unprepared to being a pro compared to us ladies who have only ever had to deal with I eat a time. Whenever you are with just one you are gonna feel like things are so easy and laugh at all us singleton moms I think one of the things that is most important in first pregnancies especially with multiples is to have some very open honest discussions with DH about how you see the division of labor at least in the early weeks when there are bound to be wake ups and feeding needs. I work in mental health and I'm always amazing at my pregnant patient who haven't discussed with their partners about how the nighttime work can be shared to help mom get some more sleep. Probably something that can wait but I thought I'd mention it since I'm sure with a few conversations and some practice you and DH can become a well oiled twin rearing machine

Sd- I can just imagin the sibling rivalry thats going to take place in a few months They are going to beat the crap out of each other. Then I will really know I'm prego. We have had the convo about night time arangements a few times. Dh currently works thirds and thinks he will be staying on thirds but I'm pretty sure I will be changing that very shortly after he goes back to work. He works for the state and gets a whole month maternity leave and thinks he is going to stay on thirds to prevent us from having a baby sitter. The way he sees it is he's off Mon and Tues nights he can be home with them during the day without sleeping on Tue and Wed and I'll be home Sat and Sun so only need a baby sitter on Mon, Thur and Fri and thats only if he can't get enough sleep durring the day if they stay home. Me personally would rather pay the daycare and have him to help me after 5 and during the night or I'm never going to get sleep. But there is almost no point in me working and paying daycare. So we have a few things there to work out. And I think it's all going to be after they are born See what we can do as trial runs.

We are going to DH's dads and brothers this weekend and his step mom text me yesturday saying that she is sending dad to the grocery store for milk and yogert because she just knows I'm not getting enough dairy and while I am there she will make sure I get what I need. I hate milk it screws with my sinus' really bad and we had that convo like a year ago. This is going to be a long weekend of what I need to be doing correctly and what I'm doing wrong I just know it lol

SD- Good luck today with your U/S!!! We are having her grand babies number 10 & 11 so she is the know it all about pregnancy aperently. This is my first so she feels the need to advise me in my pregnancy journey. lol

Tawny- My DH is trying to get a 3rd shift job for same reason but I dont think he understands he is going to get very tired quickly if he works all night watches baby all day it will be too much... We will see once the baby get shere we both work days and we have enough people helping right now with Daycare so I rather wait to see how things pan out and then change the plan if necessary... Your MIL sounds like mine she always ask if I had my milk, I am so not a milk drinker but for some reason I crave it during pregnancy so odd..

AFM- Went for U/S yesterday baby is weighing about 3lb 11oz He is so active cant get him still enough for a 3D, but I go back in 4 weeks for another u/s so im hoping I can get that picture Im measuring about 1week 5 days ahead so I think he is definitely going to be a big boy

Sorry i have been mia but i finished work the day i wrote last messsage as it was just to hard and i havent had access to computer till today

Just wanted to let ye know that thank god our 20 wk anatomy scan went perfectly yesterday, 3 healthy little babies all measuring on time and they were just amazing on the scan, all were wide awake and wriggling and kicking each other, the doc said even at this age they are very aware of each other. So please god i will hold onto them for at least another 10 wks, gonna get scan every 2 wks which is a relief.

We are having.......2 Boys and a Girl gonna call them Kayden, Jake and Mia (surname Carter)

Gi- great news about your scan and congrats on boy/girl twins!

AFM-- thanks so much for everyone else thinkin of me for my scan! We saw a heartbeat rate was 120 so I thrilled! Baby still measuring over a week behind so I'm still nervous but trying to put it out of my head. Everyone keeps saying that since it is a spontaneous pregnancy our dates could be off. But I was tracking pretty carefully....regardless even if it is small we have a growing Ben with a heartbeat so I 'm celebrating today!!

gi - Awesome u/s.. glad to see your 3 little beans are doing great. at least 10 more weeks.. we can have babies together then.. I should be having a c-section in 10 weeks.

Sd- Congrats on a little bean HB. I wouldn't worry about the baby measuring behind..at this point baby is so small its easy to be off. Has a strong HB and that is all that counts..

kynlee- I don't know why the DH's think they will be supermen lol. Mine thinks this will be cake and he will get his sleep but I think it's going to wear him down fast. I would like mine to stay on thirds while I'm pregnant because it works out with doc apts he gets to go because he can't take time of from work for that.

gi- I'm so glad the little ones cooperated in the scan. I love those names that you picked out.

SD- I'm glad the heartbeats were good. I wouldn't worry so much about size I'm with to_have_fun as long as there is a heartbeat the rest can catch up and work out.

AFM- What is everyones opinion on genetic testing. We opted out of it because it's not going to make a difference for us but the new doc is suggesting it so we have a baseline for further testing on the hearts. She said with IVF and Twins that there is a higher risk of heart problems and that would give us more testing to look at. Is that usually covered by insurance?

Hi ladies,
It's been quite sometime since I've checked in. But I do think of you guys often and keep you all in my prayers.

Tawny-with the twins, we were referred to a pediatric cardiologist for fetal echoes. My OB told me the same with regards to IVF twins having a higher risk of heart defects. We decided to do it only because a lot of the defects these days can be corrected not because we would have decided anything different with the pregnancy otherwise. We had two fetal echoes and the girls were both seen at the hospital when they were born. Thank Hod they are both healthy as can be except die a tiny heart murmur which should disappear by age one. Is this what they are recommending or something else?

Wehavehope- your twins are adorable. I don't blame you for not checking in at all since your hands are full. I was totally underwater with my second child until he hit a year since he was/is a (lovable) handful!!
