slow rising hcg after ivf

Post by may »

Last week on monday I had a positive blood test . My first hcg was 179. I spotted a little (very little , hard to see on toilet paper). Yesterday(9 days from my first hog) my hcg level was 1780. Is this normal? I was thinking it should be close to 3000?
Help me guys...I am really worried.

Ps: we transfered 2 embryos on day 3 both very good grade.

I would be cautiously optimistic. the general rule is that the numbers should double every 48 to 72 hours. putting your numbers in the doubling time calculator seems that they doubled every 58hrs. are you doing another test? how many days past transfer were you on your first test? Can never know what is really going on until you have an u/s to confirm pregnancy or beta levels drop. Fingers crossed its just some weird numbers. Sometimes 2 implant and then one drops off and that can screw up the numbers. Good Luck and keep us posted.

She is right your numbers are within the slower range of normal. It is so hard to tell....sometimes I really wish they did not tell us the beta levels. They cause a lot more stress than they are worth! Also, I have heard that once the numbers get above 1,000 they start to slow down as far as doubling time is concerned.
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!

your first hcg was very good and you are rising within an acceptable range, from the statistics I've read about that you are more likely end up with a successful pregnancy than not. In Ivf world, those are about the best chances you can ask for right? Enjoy every day of your pregnancy :) one day at a time! When is your u/s scheduled?

Now--- back to TTC at home in hopes for a final addition
