Lauren- All 3 of my miscarriages were "missed" - the baby died and my body didn't want to let go. I had a D&C with the first one, a surgical hysteroscopy with the second (there was only a tiny amount of pregnancy tissue since the pregnancy was so early and they didn't want to do another D&C) and I was induced with the third (at 18 weeks, a D&C can't be done - I was induced and had to deliver my baby). It's horrible. All three times, I had no signs that the baby had died.
The D&C isn't bad. You go to sleep under general anesthesia and when you wake up it's all over. I was given the option of a D&C or Cytotc/Misprostal to induce the miscarriage and I chose the D&C so I wouldn't have to deal with the physical aspects of miscarrying (cramping, bleeding, passing tissue).
I'm so sorry.
AFM - well, good news. Hysteroscopy was perfect (only two minor adhesions which were taken care of) and we, shockingly, got the all clear to try IVF again ASAP. I had a 15m follicle the day before the surgery, so we assume I'm ovulating. I go for SnS on Thursday and if I have ovulated, I start down-regulating. I'll start stims when I get a period in about 2 weeks. I hope this works!
