Need advice on retrieval

Hi All, I am scheduled for retrieval next week, but was told today it looks like I only have 4 good eggs (via ultrasound), along with a cyst growing on my left ovary. Should I pull the plug for retrieval this cycle, and try again next month? Is it possible I have only 4 eggs because the cyst has been absorbing all the medication? I don't know what to do, I am so disappointed, I was hoping my body would have produced at least 8 eggs. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know what to tell you, that is a really tough call. Of course there is no guarantee that the four that are there will end up being viable (but they could!). In my transfers I had 8 of 9 retrieved fertilize and 6 of 8 retrieved fertilize. So if you had similar results you would have three or maybe even all 4 embies? I guess I would base it on what RE recommends. And I think whether or not you are paying for the drugs and the retrieval out of pocket might be a factor. Sorry I wish I could be more help. Thanks for replying. My husband and I have decided to pull the plug on IVF, and try again next cycle. Hopefully the cyst will be gone or smaller by next month and we get more eggs. Please keep us in your prayers.
