horsecrazy- Its not over yet lady! We have all seen crazy stories about BFNs that turned out to be BFPs and low Betas that took off like a rocket. I just can't believe you have to wait a whole day for Beta results. :-( I assume its because its Sunday. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi ladies, sorry I'm not as active over here. I'm spoiled with the FB easy access. I'll keep reading to catch up.

Christy, I'm so happy for ou and am looking forward to your next beta.

Someone said something about never seeing their dr at their previous clinic. That is so strange to me. I always see my dr. She does everything for me, all u/s and procedures unless there is a quirk in the schedule.

I start opk on Monday for my natural FET. This will be IVF round 5. Hard to believe. I'm trying to think positive and be nonchalant about it.

We went snowshoeing today and it kicked my butt. It was our first time and we picked a tough trail. We had a 1000 ft elevation gain. I fell 3 times. Once while trying to climb a steep grade and twice just trying to get down the hill to the car. It was an experience.

Nicole- that was me! Ya, it wa very strange but I thought it was just the norm for RE clinics, until we started seeing our new doctor. He does everything!! So glad we switched!! Makes it so much more personal, like you're not just a paycheck!!

Alissa -- my first 3 cycles were at clinic 1 -- we had great results there (pregnant on every fresh cycle and one FET), but I was getting PTSD from just going there. Also, they had ridiculous rules about freezing all embryos still growing (even the crappy ones) and my insurance made me do FETs if I had frozen embryos. I hated that. I switched to clinic 2, which is a 'private clinic' (my insurance still covers most of it, but the co-pays are higher). I LOOOVEEE it. I have my RE's cell phone number and always speak directly to him. The service there is amazing.... but.... I've now done 3 cycles there. Last May, we got about 12 eggs (don't remember exact amount) and ONE fertilized. ONE! We transferred it on day 2 but BFN. We assumed it was a fluke. The next cycle, we got about 12 eggs and 8 fertilized, which sounds good to me. On day 5, we only had 1 still growing, which seemed unusually, but fine. We transferred and I got pregnant. We lost our baby boy at 18 weeks pregnant. In December we did another cycle. We got 11 eggs and only TWO fertilized! My RE is stumped.
Usually poor fertilization is either bad lab work (and this lab is supposed to be one of the best in Israel) or poor egg quality (which didn't seem to be an issue in the past). One RE (who ended up being INSANE) suggested switching to donor eggs, but my RE and other second opinions said that was nuts and too soon.

This time, I added Metformin (I'm insulin resistant and PCOS) since January and IMSI (instead of ICSI). But I'm soooo anxious about our fert report tomorrow.

I'm hoping the textbook perfect cycle, Metformin and IMSI help :)

21 eggs this morning :)

Horsecrazy- I'm praying for your beta girl. I never POAS bc thought it would give me a false reading and play with my mind. Those things aren't 100% accurate so I am praying you will get some good news tomorrow. Strange how they make you wait a full day before getting the results. Anyone you personally know who can speed things up? lol thought it was at least worth trying, maybe I am anxious as much as you are to find out. Trust me things have a way of working out in their own timing- sometimes it may be when we least think it will happen. X

Mrs. T- Is it ok if I call you that? lol I do think of the A-Team for some reason, but it's a strong name and nothing will get you down girl! I'm trying to figure everyone out over on the IVF Gal blog too it gets confusing but I like to put faces with names over there on the fb IVF Gal page. I'm so far behind in getting caught up, but did I gather you've waited 5 yrs to try a FET. I'm embarrassed a little to ask bc I should read earlier post to find out but are you guys trying for a sibbling? I never thought a FET would work but my first and only one actually did. For some, FETS work out better then fresh cycles...I remember being so sore after my retrieval but with a FET my body felt more normal and healthy ready to go. I took 2 days of light bedrest but who would had ever thought this would work? not me. I told Leora I felt like I needed to prepare for yet another disappointment. But sometimes like I said before things happen when you least expect them too. Sorry I'm rambling, I do look forward to getting to know you.

Ginger- Hi I hope you are feeling better this morning. I posted a little about what to expect with a FET, but as I look back over my last protocal, we had altogether only 5 doctor appts and everything was lined up all the dates stayed the same unlike a fresh cycle. Because no retrieval was necessary, my body felt more relaxed, not aching, sore or any UTI infections that retrievals often cause. We had less shots too, which I really liked. We did lupron shots to shut down everything for 10 days. Started estrogen patches and progesterone on day14. Then transfered our frosties on day 18 with 2 days of bedrest. I now have one frostie on ice, hoping for a sibbling someday but like you it will be our only one. But I was mostly surprised by how well they thaw out. They looked so fresh! It's amazing how advanced the medical technology has become.

Leora- I'm having a time figuring that question out. Let's see with our FET, we transfered two blastocyst on Feb 25th. I think that would make them 18 days old now is that right. And if we put in the 2 weeks of our cycle that would mean +14 days that would mean I'm 4 weeks 5 days along. That hurt my head I'm not good with numbers so I might need you for that.
21 eggs is a basketful girl I see a rainbow baby in the near future!

Blue- Take it easy on the slopes...we don't want to hear about you being on crutches before you become a mama. Natural IVF can you explain more about what that entails? Do you have to take any fertility meds at all to prepare? It sounds less stressful but anyway I am wishing THIS cycle to be your cycle and I'll be over here cheering you on!

AFM: Last week was so craZy my head is spinning. My crappy beloved car broke down costing $1300 in repairs, I was in a depressed mood bc I dreaded the phone call that I knew would have to come today, I thought I just have to get through this day. They will use these numbers to decide what they can do differently for my next protocal for my next cycle, that was my mindset that morning. With only one car, Dh took me to the clinic to have bw drawn for beta. We had to rush out of there bc he had a training class to attend. So he gave me the truck and I went to a mall that only had 2 stand-along dept stores. It was an older mall because they still had the escalators and elevators in use. -I remember that being the style back in the 80s so I got a kick out of riding up and down the escalators as I talked on my cell phone lol the employees prob grew tired of me. Around 11:00 I started feeling lightheaded so I went to McDonalds drive thru and ordered a happy meal. Seriously I just needed something to tie me over before lunch, I had thought we would go out for a nice lunch somewhere with dh later that afternoon after a crappy day. But I giggled as the girl taking my order ask if I wanted a boy or girl happy meal. I told her "girl" thinking I have more nieces then nephews. I placed the McD ballerina toy in my bag with my crochet yarn where I had attempted for over one year to make a baby blanket. The phone finally rang around 2pm and my doctor politely asked me how I was doing and next thing was he told me we are pg. It completely caught me OFF guard, I was crying hysterically over the phone I did not believe him, I kept asking him are you sure, are you sure?? He said is your name Angela Christine I said yes but I don't believe you and finally I gave the phone to Michael bc I was all choked up. After 13 years together could we really be getting our real chance? Michael reminded me he feels better this time knowing we'll be monitored more often. Yet it's still so early and I hate telling others knowing I'm not out of the woods yet but I have to tell people, I want this to feel as real as it possibly can bc I'm still in shock.

Each day is precious and I'm not guaranteed to have a perfect pregnancy but we can only take it one day at a time but lean on God more to get us through this, Faith will get us through life helping us weather through these storms. It puts everything into perspective with what I wrote one day on the board back in 2010. I talked about getting through this storm and I know there were days I felt completely lost in my way but I know this is going to happen in His own timing. He will lead us and guide us if we put our trust into Him. Tomorrow I'll go in for my 2nd beta, please pray these numbers increase into the 400s giving me a good chance to continue on. I really really appreciate the support from my buddies here as well as my IVF buddies from the years past. You are the true friends in my journey. X

Much Love,
Christy

Wow Leora that is so much easier, thank you for posting the link I was one day off. Pretty cool though if we make it through next week we might get to detect the baby's heartbeat on Michael's 36th birthday. I will be nervous though being that I've been down this road before. Baby step, one at a time. X

Leora- oh my goodness, I'm so excited for tomorrow's report!! I can't believe you had that many eggs! I didn't even know that was possible!!

Christy- how exciting!! i am so over the moon, excited for you!! i just know the day we hear those words is going to be so surreal!!! lol, yes, you may call me MrsT...I actually watched the ATeam today!! I love cool nick names!! No, we don't have any children. It was the doctor's decision to do an FET. I've never been pregnant, which is very confusing because DH and I are picture perfect on paper! No diagnosis what so ever!! Since he can't find what's preventing it, he wants my body in optimal condition when he does the transfer. I kind of get it, but I get questioned about it a lot, so I'm guessing its odd. I figure he's the expert, so I'll just listen to him! I love getting to know all of you as we'll!!

AFM- going in for my first scan tomorrow morning. I'm kind of excited/nervous to see what we're working with!!
On a side note, it's been an exciting couple of days!! A very close friend had her baby boy, five weeks early, yesterday! Everyone is doing great but he was almost born in the car!! He popped out six minutes after they arrived to the hospital! Her husband was a wreck!! Another friend of mine, who has been battling infertility for about seven years, just announced her pregnancy today!! They've been seeing an RE for a couple of years, decided to take a break, to regain their sanity and bank account, and ended up doing it on their own! Go figure!!

Planning when my next one will be.

Horsecrzy- I'm stil here! Also on the FB page now and I see you are there too! :) . I will be waiting for your results today! I know it can be nerve racking! I am hoping and praying this first time works for you.

Christy - thanks for the info! The less shots the better. I had the worse time with PIO. Broke out into hives and found out I was allergic to the oil. So got switched to something else, by that point my bony butt was "shot" to hell! At that point RE put me on only the inserts.

Mrs T- yay for your first scan!!

A little disappointing from 21 eggs, but still the most embryos we've ever had. Hopefully they all keep growing!
