The scan went well! 27 follicles, which does make them a little worried about hyper stimulation, so I'll be doing lots of bloodwork so they can keep an eye on my levels. A lot of them were measuring at 14-15 mm, which he said is putting me a day or two ahead of schedule. ER may be moved up to Friday. I was pretty excited about the plethora of follies because for some reason I was worried I wouldn't respond well!! I will be getting a phone call this afternoon with instructions!!

Hey everyone! I think everyone should come to FB it's so much easier. Anyways for those of you who aren't my beta today was negative. Also, my RE told me due to being such a poor responder I will most likely NEVER conceive naturally. That is the part that shocks me since I just turned 33 and had no idea I had fertility issues. I chose IVF because my partner/donor has a vasectomy!! UGH. I guess that's life.
Bliss, Mrs T and Leora~ Congrats to all of you!!!! Great day for you guys and I am truly happy for each of you!!! :D

Horsecrazy- I'm no expert, but I think I would get a second opinion! That was awfully quick for him to make those assumptions!! Don't give up!!

Horsecrzygirl- I am so sorry. That sucks. I would definitely get a second opinion.

Ms T- I totally understand. I felt like a junky during my.first 3 cycles. I wore a long sleeve shirt. But, sounds like you are progressing well.

Sunshine- I am so stinking excited about your second beta. So will there be a third beta?

Leora- when will your transfer be?

Welcome Ginger!

Welcome Mrs.Tdub! Congrats on all the follicles!! Can't wait to hear how transfer and progression goes for you!!

Congrats Sunshine!!! I am very excited and happy for you!

Congrats to you too, Leoria...on all the fertilized eggs! Keeping my fingers crossed for BFP for you guys!

Horsecrazy: I am sorry to hear about your BFN.

AFM: I have been busy working away and really nothing new to report on my end. My husband and I had out IVF education class last week and while I knew the whole process was a little intense, I still walked out of there overwhelmed. Feeling not ready to physically do this. We also found out a friend of ours has Stage 4 brain cancer, so I questioned our decision to do IVF right now (for a few days). We have our consent signing this Thursday, should be a riot of a good time! LOL
I would love to be added to the FB page, please! Here is my name. Jenn Opheim (there are 2 of us, I am the brunette).
Sorry if I missed anyone!
Looking forward to many, many great baby celebrations this year!

Hi ladies,

I think my day of snowshoeing and 10 mile run the next day broke me down just enough. I'm now sick. I've been fighting it off but have now lost the style. Everyone at school is sick, both staff and students. Hopefully it won't mess with my cycle.

Christy, the natural cycle follows my own cycle. It only works if you ovulate on your own. I will have u/s staring Friday and started opk today. I don't have any meds except for hcg to trigger my follicle in order to plan transfer. I have a 5 day freezer tot. I will also have progesterone shots. It's pretty simple.

Jenn, I'm so sorry about your friend.

Good luck all. I'll post more once I feel better.

Wish I could stay longer on the boards tonight...

LauraN- Congratulations on your transfer today, make sure to get 2 days of bedrest in and eat 6 brazil nuts a day. Also think warm foods, try to stay away from iced beverages you want to keep the uterus cozy with warm foods.

Leora- NINE is very nice, well done you! The most we ever had to fertilize was about half of that...When will transfer be- do you think?

Nicole- I hope you get to feeling better, everything sounds less complicated with the natural IVF, sometimes I think the less chemicals the better esp with all the meds they have us taking!! Anyway please keep us posted!

ugh I know I'm missing so many others but dh just walked in...We got the news today that our 2nd beta came back at 390. so next step will be wait until the 21st to go one final time and IF all looks good, wil be released to the obgyn on 3/27 for first scan to I hope and PRAY see the heartbeat. That would be a milestone but for now we are taking it one day at a time. What a crazy journey, do we ever stop worrying?

Hi everyone!
My name is Trish and this is my first time ever on a message board! I am excited to become part of your group. Here's a little about me: I am 37, single and am using donor sperm. I have done two IUI's, neither of which were successful. I am on day 11 of the birth control pill and will be starting the antagonist protocol next week (as long as my insurance is approved). Any advise on what to expect would be greatly appreciated. My RE told me she would be putting me on Gonal-F and some sort of vaginal suppositories. She will also order a 4 day steriod course and a trigger shot. Right now, I have the most anxiety about the egg retriaval and the pain thereafter. I carry a diagnosis of PCOS and after my IUI triggers I had severe ovarian pain for six days each time. Is this normal for IVF as well? Also, how do I join the Facebook group, from what i've read in ya'lls post that is easier.
Thanks guys! Trish

Trish! Welcome!! private message Leora about FB. I switched over as did a couple others and it is so much nicer. I don't know much about IUI since I have only done one cycle of IVF. I can tell you the egg retrieval is not that bad. I did have cramping pain after it, but went home and slept most of the day. I was groggy from the sedation. The actual procedure you are knocked out for. I woke up with pain and they gave me fentanyl right away and then it was gone until I got home. Good luck! I hope to see you on FB!

Trish- Welcome you found a fantastic support group, I'm also over on the facebook group too...but I like this board so much better because you can get more personal and talk more open-mindedly, vent whenever you need too...All in all I'm met so many good people on both boards but I've come to know them even better here.

Leora- Enjoy your massage this afternoon, Friday (aka Thursday here) cannot get here soon enough but I am so excited about this upcoming big day! May this be our rainbow baby!! P.S. you know you have been nominated as POAS queen!

Nicole- How are you feeling?

Jenn- I'll be praying for your friend with cancer, I have one too from high school who recently found out she has breast cancer at 37. She's going through radiation treatment but fights back with pilates and her strong support group. It's been a tough journey, I think about all the people out there with trouble with their health and it makes infertility seem so small doesn't it? Jobs can be replaced as well but our health plays a bigger role. X I cannot imagine what they go through, my heart goes out to the patients with cancer and my prayer is they will continue to have the strength to hang on and fight for their precious lifes. I know someone I cycled with 2 yrs ago who was right in the middle of her 2nd trimester when her mother passed away with cancer. It was a tough time for her, and still is but she counts her blessings to have a beautiful son and she knows her mom is watching down on them from up above. It's an emotional time right now. She keeps her memory feel alive, most of all she knows she would want her daughter to be happy and I think the baby helped her find happiness. You owe it to yourself to figure out your next steps so keep your chin up and venture when you're ready. Yes the contract/education was overwhelming to me also when we did our first IVF 3 yrs ago. I remember it being 4 hours long to go over everything and then practive injections. They should had provided refreshments to keep one from nearly passing out.

Mrs. T- Sounds like ER is getting really close...please update us when you can!

LauraN- May those emibabies continue to snuggle in for the next 8 months...If you would like message me your email and I will send you Ninde relaxation tracts. I found them very helpful on nights I couldn't sleep.

Horseshoegirl- I enjoyed our midnight chat over on the fb board and I came back over today to check in on you. I cannot believe your doctor said that, when it takes more then one attempt to get the exact protocal! I am sorry to be upset but he doesn't sound very willing and flexible to try something different. Truth is a good doctor will try diferent things to figure out what clicks perfectly, he's twicks the meds until he gets it right bc every person will respond on different levels. Did he mention anything about your ovarian reserve? That would make more sense but from what I gathered you have unexplained infertility so this shouldn't be over yet. Trust me it will absolutely be worth getting a second opinion before you throw in the towel. We did and found a clinic that's more compassionate, when I felt like my previous one was nothing but a money pit with zero bedside manners. Guess I'm trying to say when your blood pressure gets back to normal absolutely find another doctor, you will be glad you did. Plus don't forget what I said about the IVF Attain program. You can research it online to see what cinics in your state offer it.

Ginger- I think my left side of my hump is finally feeling better from the PIO shots today.

AFM: Feeling sluggish got up at 7:30a to eat breakfast, fell back asleep until 12:30. Glad I cancelled my day with Annabelle I'm completely exhausted. First day off since I can remember and nice to be taking it easy. Today marks 5 weeks along, still so new and I have to get to March 21st first to graduate from the clinic. What a long road it's been, please let this be happening!

Heeeelllllooo all you beautiful Mamas and future mamas. I am back and have returned to the land of the living for at least a few minutes before I go back to sleep. After I triggered Monday night I went to bed and then woke up at 1:40 AM. I DID NOT GO BACK TO SLEEP. I tried everything and eventually gave up and got up and worked until 6 am. Tried to go back to sleep but to no avail. Dropped Evelyn off at daycare at 9 and then went to acupuncture. Rode in the back seat of our mininvan and watched comedies while DH drove. We were at our hotel next to the Fertility Center and in bed by 8:30. Retrieval went well, we got 15 eggs! That is certainly more than I ever had. It was cool, the embryologist kept coming in and telling us how many we had. When she got to 13 I was like WHAT??? REALLY!!!??? I knew this cycle had gone well but that was beyond my expectations.

Now I am just waiting on a fert report. Because of the drugs and lack of sleep I slept all the way until lunch time. I had a margarita at lunch (no eggs developing right now!!! Thought it would be a nice break ;-)). It knocked me out until 6 o'clock! Getting ready to go to bed. I have acupuncture and a hair appointment tomorrow (gotta get my roots done before I get pregnant). Friday is the big day!

My center doesn't start progesterone until the day of transfer (2dpo). This is new but they said it improves implantation rates. Makes sense to me but the change does make me nervous.

I am cramping pretty bad this time, more than usual but of course that makes sense given the number of eggs and follies.

Horsecrazy- once again I am so sorry for your BFN :-(. I agree with others, it could have just been a bad protocol and I think it is far too early to throw in the towel. Not sure what kind of access you have to other options but it may be worth it to look at alternatives. I am not saying your RE isn't high quality but it never hurts to have a second opinion.

Sunshine- Yay for being preggo! I agree that this site is different than facebook. You can write more about what is going on plus its a smaller group so it is easier to keep up with people. My clinic only does two betas as long as they rise as they should so I woudn't worry about the wait on the third. That being said, nothing wrong with asking for it earlier! I was also absolutely exhausted the entire first trimester. Hang in there.

Welcome to the group Trish!!! Some discomfort when stimming is totally normal. I had a couple of small cycsts on my left overy this time and I definitely had more pain on that side so my guess is that PCOS does increase the discomfort. My RE does not put me all the way under for retrieval, instead it is twilight anesthesia. Its uncomfortable but not awful. This time at the end I did fall asleep, probably because it took longer due to all those follies I had. :-)

Blueeyeddreamer- I am a runner too! The longest distance I have done since having Evelyn was an 8 miler this summer. Not to pry, but have you thought about cutting back on your mileage? I did and also gained 6 pounds to get my BMI to the fertility sweet spot. The next cycle I was pregnant. My RE didn't want me running more than 12 miles a week after the first 2 cycles failed. Everyone is different though. The downside of course was not having that outlet, but I still ran and also meditated. Seemed to help. Hope you feel better soon!

Jenn- saying a prayer for you and for your friend tonight. So sad.

Leora- we will both be transferring on Friday I believe! Of course my embies will only be two days old.

Laura- when is your beta??? Mine will be 3/26 and 3/28.

Mrs. T- GREAT SCAN! Thats a lot of follies and sounds like you are having a great cycle. Continued good luck for you!

Blissy- Yes ma'am 15 eggs is a basketful and you will be bringing Miss. Evelyn home a sibbling soon!
ugh I know what you mean, I now wish I had done my roots before transfer, ugh I never expected this to work though, but oh well when is it safe to get the roots done? My hair needs it done now though, it's saying to me please don't keeping putting this off, ugh I need to find a wig to get me through the first trimester, I'm sure dh wouldn't mind but what good is it going to do him. Oh well I shouldn't complain just wish I had gotten my hair done 3 weeks ago that's all, but nope I never expected IVF to actually work when everything else including my car was falling apart. lol yup poor pitful me and my hair!

Christy, I feel like shit. Sucks! I thought I was getting better and went to work today, but ended up with a alf day. It's kicking my MS into high gear. The fatigue factor is awful. I've also been dizzy and have had strange disappearing sensations, that's an MS thing. I got my hair done yesterday. My dh won't let me do it near transfer time or during the first tri.

Bliss, I am still overweight. 5'6" 170lbs. I will cut back on my running at transfer and gradually increase it depending on how I feel. My dirhams ok'd 20-25 miles per week. I don't do that much because I mostly cross train during the week.

Welcome Trisha. I wish my re would give me a steroid course. I think it would help, but she won't do anything drastic. We are trying au naturale this time. I only think the steroids would be good because of my MS and multiple chemicals.
