8 eggs retrieved... any success stories or encouragement to

Ladies. I'm 31 and going through my first IVF cycle, with ICSI. I went into today's retrieval with 10 follicles over 19mm. The largest was about 25mm. They retrieved 8 eggs. Lining was 13 and E2 was about 2000. Any thoughts? Just passing the time until we get the fertilization results tomorrow. Any success story, any encouragement would be appreciated.

My second fresh cycle was very similar to this. We had 8 eggs then down to 5 embies then down to 1 pretty good blast and 1 fair blast. We transferred the one pretty good blast and the rest is history!! My second son was born. I had many more eggs my first ivf fresh cycle so the decrease was a little discouraging but the doc told me the new trend in ivf is to stim a quality set of eggs and reduce risk of hyperstim. I don't know if she was just saying that or not but whatever it worked! Keep us posted on your fert report.

I would really love to hear how this went for you! I had 8 eggs retrieved yesterday and I am very nervously and impatiently awaiting a call from the doctor to see how it went. We also did ICSI, so I am hoping for the best, but I know 8 wasn't a great number.

8 is a totally fine number. Not spectacular or amazing, but completely normal and gives you a great chance!
