Great news, Leora. Congrats on the beta going up and up (and may it keep on rising -:). I hope to be in your shoes some day soon. Can I ask how many times you have tried IVF? I'm just starting out (taking the pill for suppression stage right now). Showers of baby dust to you!

Suzyq--thanks so much for sharing your story. How wonderful that IVF/donor eggs worked out for you! A very happy story, though am so sorry to hear about the m/c. My mother who is 77 still gets very emotional talking about a m/c she had 45 years ago--this stuff certainly stings (we had a m/c this past summer). I'm actually feeling a little better about trying IVF today. My thanks to all you ladies and your encouragement!!! I've gotten sick from the necon (the pill)--nausea, headaches, spotting--and that kind of through me off (makes me nervous about what's to come once I start with all the hormones). Plus, I'm still bummed about getting my AF last Fri and wrapping my head around doing IVF--pretty mind blowing. Happily, we spent so much money on IUIs and acupuncture last year that we are getting a nice tax return, which we can then use for IVF--ha! A little irony in that, to be sure.

Christy/Sunshine--thrilled for you! What a beautiful moment to see the HB. I sure hope to be in your shoes some time soon. Showers of baby dust!

Hattiestar - I totally understand the sick/mood swings with the birth control. I've found that I am the least emotionally sound while I'm taking the birth control and the rest of the drugs don't have nearly as much of an effect on my emotions. I also had a lot of break through bleeding while on the birth control. Hopefully things get easier as your body gets used to the drugs and you have an easier time with the stims.
Sunshine - glad to hear you heard a strong heartbeat.
Leora - good news about your beta rising. Good luck with the blood work on Friday.
TinaLou- sounds like I'm having the opposite problem growing follicles as you. I've got so many growing so fast they're worried about them actually being mature enough. And I'd already bought the follistim (because of how the prescription was written initially) so now I paid for the drugs I likely won't use. Grrr.
I suppose things are going well for me. I went in for my ultrasound today and they counted 90+ follicles growing. The largest is already a 17. Definitely a candidate for OHSS. Still waiting to see how they're gonna change my meds because they want me to be at least ten days into the cycle before the retrieval so the eggs will be more mature hopefully. For now I'll be going in every day for u/s and b/w so they can keep a close eye on me.

Beta substantiated what the HPT said... negative. Got drunk and called to get on the May calendar for FET. I have so many frosties because they are only 2 day old embies. If they were blasts that would be amazing but they are at least all good quality. Still really happy with having a few shots at this.

SDtrying- I hear you on the romance. Strangely though the best our sex life has been for a long time was shortly after having the baby. I was on pelvic rest for so long I think we made up for all the time in the first week after I was allowed to get back in the game. Good times. Now we are down to just a few times a month. I am happy with it and I think DH is too. Lots of love and we are satisfied so I don't think that's bad at all.

Thanks Suzyq for posting the news here. I texted WeHaveHope (Maria) and she posted for me since I was away from the computer all day yesterday, so she did on the IVF Gals (exclusive) facebook group. But we cannot announce it to the regular facebook crowd just yet, it's still so early soooo all we can do is try to stay positive and keep praying. Thank you for all your support along the way, it has been a crazy journey since 2010. I cried when we actually heard the heartbeat for the first time, right then I knew it made everything we've been through so worth it.

Ugh I have very little energy right now, need to eat and sleep and then come back for personals, but I'm planning on hanging around to cheer everyone else on, because I know happy endings do exist. We see them everyday and I want this dream to come real for all of us!

Suzyq- Looking forward to April 8th when RE defrost out your babies and we have your fet report. Keep your chin up, good things do happen, I feel good about your upcoming cycle. Faith can move mountains!

Leora- I'm stalking you on both boards-- well actually there is 3 different boards so I have an advantage. :D

Blissy- Glad you got that out of your system and you are getting geared up for May. Trust me the way March flew by around here so will the following month. I'm glad you have some frosties to play with and don't have to go through the retrieval.

Sara- Wow it sounds like you are responding too good to the meds, yikes this can happen though but I am glad they are monitoring you closely and cutting back some. Drink plenty of water and some former cyclers drank gater-aid too. Yes you will have a basket full of eggs this Easter, but I know you must feel bloated and uncomfortable right now. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

SDtrying- I know that feeling, opk test and timing it kills the love life...but so does IVF. Either way we feel like room-mates hang in there, this cannot last a century. lol but we thought the same way after getting a natural read that we shouldn't give up now. Most of us still believe in natural pregnancies, miracles do happen everyday but it's good to have a timeline too.

Hattiestar- That's good you are claiming this as medical expenses on your tax return, and able to make everything work for IVF. Have you given any thought to the IVF Attain Program I mentioned some time back? For us a single round of IVF was 15 grand but with the ATTAIN we invested 32 grand and got 6 tries with a 70% refund if no baby is brought home. Oh just to ponder about, and maybe if you are interested: research the website to see if you can find a clinic that offers this program.

I'll be over here cheering you all on in your upcoming cycles! :D

Sunshine--thanks for your post and info on the Attain program. There is 1 RE in the area who works with ARC, but her prices were about 5K higher than everyone else and we actually didn't really like her office in the end (did 4 IUIs with her and actually never saw her until she showed up to quote us 21K for IVF! Her nurses did everything during the IUIs--new people showing up all the time. Felt like a factory). There is another RE in the area who works with Attain and we thought about it, but decided to stick with the RE who got my friend pg twice through IVF (she has 1 DD and is currently 5 months pg and is also 40 yrs old). Sadly, he does NO financing. My DH and I can't really think about investing any more $$ as he isn't even working right now due to a back injury. Right now, we can maybe afford to do 2 frozen cycles (can't do fresh because of PGS testing) and are just hoping for the best.

This is my first cycle of IVF and I am starting to worry that we will not get any eggs. I am now on day 13 of Lupron and Day 11 of Menopur. I go back for another check tomorrow, but so far the only follicles large enough are the cysts that were there before we started this. My Estrogen level is going up slowly, as of thursday it was only 574...I don't know if that is abnormal or what. I have reordered Follistim and am out again. They have upped my evening Menopur from 225 to 375. Last check my huge cyst had grown 10 mm in 2 days. I have quite a few follicles but none are even close enough to have mature eggs in them. Most are 10mm or less. They were hoping to do ER early this week, but I am not sure they would get anything usable. I guess I am just worrying and needing to vent a bit.

Tinalou- Good luck girl. I know this whole process in nerve wrecking. Hopefully the changes in your protocol will increase those follies and produce the eggs you need. Sometimes with the first cycle it is a learning process. Vent all you need and get it out of your system. Wishing you the best and lots of mature eggs. Keep us posted.

Hattiestar-IVF cost are staggering. They also vary greatly from clinic to clinic. Sorry to hear DH is out of work with an injury. Hopefully he will heal quickly and you can get back on track. I know we had to wait for this cycle for 6 months to save up for it and that was a killer since I am 44 and do not want to do this again. I am getting too old. I too hate BCP.Just makes foe feel awful. Glad the return is helping with the cost. I am sorry you are having a hard time coming to terms with IVF. It was not a hard decision for me since my DH was so excited about it. He found all the technology exciting. He would since his part takes about a minute.

Leora- That is great. Your little bean is taking off. Sounds like a slow starter who was digging in. :D

Sunshine- thank you so much for your positive words. I too have a good feeling about this cycle too. Your right about faith and I do have a great deal of it. God bless you and that sweet little one.

Sarah- Hope your feeling well. Hope the eggs grow and develop without the OHS.

SCtrying- Miracles do happen. Dear friend I taught with in Texas just had a baby girl after 15+ years of trying and docs telling them there was no hope for them. They had tried twice to adopt and had both fall through at the last moment. They were heart broken. MY DF thought she was feeling crappy from the stress of the adoptions, but took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Little girl is 7 weeks old. I wish you the best and hope you get your miracle.

AFM- B/W went well Thursday. Next appt is Friday for b/w and u/s. If all goes well we defrost a week from today and then the fun begins.

I hope all had a wonderful Easter.
