TinaLou- Wow!!!! That is fantastic. Congrats on being PUPO! My best advice is not now to try and put it out of your mind and stay busy. Much easier said than done. When is your BETA? I am right behind you.

Maria- Thank you for your well wishes. We all appreciate the sentiment.

Leora- Stay strong. This is a rough road and it plain sucks. Praying you have a quick end to this and a quick heal physically. Emotionally I know this scars and takes time. Praying the DE is your baby. When is your birthday in July? Mine is July 9th.

SDtryingagain-Thank you so much.

AFM- Yes I am PUPO!!!!!! :D :D :D :D We did a 3dt this morning of 2 -8 cell embryos. RE said they looked great. Yesterday we had 3 fair and 1 good. I was a lot worried. Today 1 one of the fairs had caught up to the good and so we transferred the 2.Taking it easy the next two days at home.

Leora- I hate that you are in such a bind with your options. I totally get not wanting to wait it out in your situation and I also get wanting to limit your D&Cs. Did your RE have a strong recommendation either way? Regardless of what you chose, I can't wait until you are on your new path with DEmbies, that sounds awesome! and love your goal of by your birthday, we'll be right there cheering you on!!

Tinalou and Suzyq-- Yeah for PUPO!!! That is my absolutely fav part of IVF (for about 2 days and then I usually would drive myself crazy with pee sticks, LOL. I would always just think of myself as pregnant and bask in my pregnantness :) since it seemed like such a hard state to achieve! It was like reaching an important milestone, a place to rest along the journey. I was always running so hectic with balancing life with IVF treatment that being PUPO just allowed this to go on hold for a bit. Even if the bedrest makes you stir crazy at least enjoy that the protocol is over for the most part and the rest is just about your little babes moving back home into your womb!! Sooooooooo, who's gonna break first with the sticks???? come on ya know you want to ;) I'm dyin' over here to get a daily pee stick report, its just gonna be so fun to see those double lines!!

AFM-- I'm also on the 2ww from my home fertility clinic :) I think we are mastering using the cervical cap thing. I really hope it worked! And if it did, i'm hoping this one sticks! Did someone say sticks???? hee hee, speaking of sticks...I'm sure to start obsessively peeing soon! probably next wednesday it will become a morning ritual :) Man, DH is gonna kill me with the cost. We just remodeled and are pretty broke, but I'm addicted and well its not exactly an optional matter anymore, I'm too far gone ;) FRER is by DOC (drug of choice) for those of you outside of the addiction community, hee hee. [for clarification I know this because of my line of work and not because of other drugs, nope--- it is just straight up pee stick for me, i don't mess with the other stuff, LOL]

Oh Barbara- Travis is gorgeous and I can't believe he is 8 months already. It goes by too too fast.

Sdtryingagain- we have had some serious luck around here with natural pregnancies. Can't wait till you start peeing! I think I am solidly moved over to the dark side with the whole pee stick thing. I will be stimming a little for my FET so there will be a trigger and I am praying we do a lupron trigger again. I don't think I have the heart to test out the trigger. Good luck!

Leora- so very sorry that you didn't get the miracle you deserve. You will get it though. You must.

Cristie- Going crazy yet??? Ready to join us on the dark side?

Christy- Yay for your beautiful little gummy bear. Enjoy.

Thank you Blizzy. Baby G is hanging in there, each week is a milestone but I'm relieved we got through the 6 wks 5 days. Wednesday will make 10 weeks, I'm praying the next 2 weeks will be boring and event-free too. We go back Wed., for E2 and P4 check, and then May 2nd for 2nd obgyn appt. Each day I'm grateful to make it another day, and I'm staying busy so it's really helping me make time fly by even faster, thankful I'm working full-time that's the best distraction, although on my off days I'm sleeping and catching up with rest.

Good to hear from you Barbara. It's hard to believe how much those babies have really grown. Time has flown but our buddies coming back to reunite and give their support- mean so much.

Cristie- How are you doing PUPO girl? I hope your little one is feeling better today. Chicken noodle soup always helps too.

Tina- I hear you are PUPO too, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Leora- I am still enjoying the care-package you mailed me, that was so sweet of you! I love that we have several others wanting to participate this will be so much fun and a wonderful cultural experience. Do you all have Sunchips over there? lol I have been trying to research American foods that people over in Israel greatly miss- but then I thought it would be easier if I just ask you. Correct me if I am wrong, but some of the foods people over there miss are Nacho chips, graham crackers, Triscits, bagels and pineapple.

AFM: I'm trucking along...next appt will be Wed over in Gulf Breeze clinic to monitor P4 and E2 levels. I think I might have one more appt after that and then be released around 11 wks. Bittersweet bc I've come to love the girls over there but I still need to get out of the woods before letting go. So I'm being quiet over here and taking it all one day at a time.

Hello ladies!

I've been a lurker since I started my IVF cycle 3/11. I am 4dp5dt of two embryos (AA and hatching and the other was BB blast). I am new to the lingo so bear with me:)
I am in the middle of the 2ww and I started spotting 2dp5dt with on and off cramping. When I called re office they say, "it's normal". Today my spotting is red/ brown. Anyone else have spotting so early after transfer? I am on crinone and estrace.
Wishing all you ladies luck this cycle!!:)sticky vibes to you all!

Hi Amy, Welcome! I had some spotting with 2 of my 3 IVFs. I can't remember if both were my successful ones or just only one. I do remember my 1st successful one having spotting because I remember being totally freaked out and then everything being just fine. Good Luck and welcome again!

Sunshine-- great to hear from you and so happy to know your pregnancy is going well.

So for our 2 PUPO ladies--- how are you feeling? When are your beta's? What's the plan for the pee-sticks?

AFM-- am driving myself crazy, thinking I'm pregnant and then trying not force myself to stop thinking i'm pregnant. trying to avoid the internet suck of playing with due date calculators. Ugh, I will be so, so happy when my obsession with child bearing is over. I'll probably start testing wednesday or thursday. I ordered my sticks and they should arrive then.

Nicole - I hope you are pregnant! What are your chances, or do you have no idea? Try not to drive yourself crazy... but I know that's impossible!

AFM - met with my beloved OB today - he said that he doesn't think a D&C is necessary and that we should try the misoprostol to induce the miscarriage. Because of my horrific OB history, he wants me to do it in the hospital. Today and tomorrow is Israeli Independence Day, so everything is closed and the hospital is only taking emergency cases. This is not an emergency, so I have to wait until Wednesday morning to be admitted and get started. I hope it goes fast, smoothly and with as many 'good' drugs as I can get.

Sorry I've been absent for the past while but I've had a horrible couple of weeks. I'll start my story about from when I last posted. I was at high risk for developing ohss. I had lots of follicles but my body was starting to reabsorb some of the more immature ones so I was closer to 60 follicles than the 90+ counted on the previous ultrasound. I started having about 4 inches worth of bloating around my abdomen and feeling like all my stomach muscles were being overstretched. RE decided to continue the cycle with the trigger shot and egg retrieval since I'd made it so far but we were going to freeze the embryos rather than try a transfer.
I went in for the egg retrieval on Mon 4/1. It went well and they drained 42 follicles. By Monday night I was getting really sick, more bloating and stomach pains, couldn't eat or drink anything, pale and clammy but I felt like I needed ice on me. We didn't go to the hospital because I had an appointment at the clinic the next day. Tuesday I went to the clinic and they gave me some calcium fluids. That night my husband took me to ER and I was admitted immediately. My blood pressure was 80/40. I spent eleven days in the hospital, including a night in ICU. I was given lots of fluids to get my blood pressure up and then they started the albumin followed by diuretics. I went from a size 8 to probably a size 16 because of all the fluid leaking out of the blood system into the body cavity. At one point they poked a hole in my side and drained about 2 liters of excess fluid. They finally let me out of the hospital on Sat. And I've just been trying to recover and walk off the excess fluid weight.
Our egg report was pretty sad. Out of 42 follicles they collected 16eggs. Only 7 were mature but they matured the rest in the lab. They icsi half and 3 fertilized that way, they tried the natural fertilization on the other half and none fertilized. Out of the three that worked only two made it to the freezing stage, one fair and the other is poor. Depressing, but glad we have at least those two.

Oh my goodness, sariah what a medical nightmare!! Are you going to have a debriefing with your RE about what could have been down differently? Are you thinking about getting a second opinion involved? So sorry that you don't have a million snowbabies to show for all that pain, but very glad you do have two. When do you think you'd be we'll enough to transfer?

Leora-- I'm so glad your awesome OB is watching you so closely in miso that sound like an awesome plan. Though I wish you didn't have to wait. You always come up with great plans for distracting yourself while you wait for the next thing on the horizon. Any plans this time? I hope you have something good, because you deserve the world. I wish I had the resources to send you a special Leora pampering crew directly to Israel. Leora, the amount of loss you've had to deal with just seems so surreal.i often wonder how you maintain your strength to support others. It is no fun to become the gal who is known to be awesome at coping with horrific things. No one wants to get good at that. I'm always amazed that you are, but wish so much that you'd never had to develop those coping skills. I wish so much that you could be young and carefree like so many twenty-somes and instead you are carrying your angels with you everywhere you go waiting to make your family. If you don't mind a couple personal questions...how does David handle it? How is your family about everything?

Oh leora, I forgot to answer your thoughtful questions about my situation. No clue if it'll work. We didn't get pregnant naturally for 5 years, so I guess statistically are chances suck . Who knows, our fertility issue were ever totally explained and I'm trying to be optimistic.

You know I love me my pee sticks so I'm waiting for their arrival Wednesday. Might test wednesday just to get that first sad negative out of the way...

Hello all,

My name is Summer and I am new to your forum, and well forums in general! It looks like you all are pretty much a big welcoming family of support. It is nice to know I am not alone! I saw that most of you have your background in attachment at the end of your posts and the profile to the right telling some helpful details where you all are from etc. I can't figure out how to do that! It looks like many of you are from the US. I am American but I live in France and am doing the IVF here. Which is both good and bad. In France, the costs of IVF is reimbursed by the government at 100%. Which knowing how costly these procedures are in the US it is great! But the service we have here is a lot less catering to us. I many times feel like I am in assembly line in a factory. All the women going through this go do their ultrasounds and blood tests at the same time 7:30am for blood work at the lab and then 8 am at the hospital for the ultrasound. At noon they will call you to confirm your steps (continue the same dose of fostimon, add the orgulatron, etc. etc. On the day of my retrieval we are admitted at 7am. We were 6 that day. It is all through the hospital and not a clinique specializing in infertility. It is all very methodical. You have to do 4-6 trials of artificial insemination before they will move on the IVF. And if the first IVF fails for some reason they may pass you on IVF ICSI. Like they did with me this cycle (now 11dpt 3dt). It may sound not so bad, and it really isn't except for the very rushed visits leaving you with still a hundred questions and doubts, and the scheduling!!! They will not do procedures on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays! Which means, this Easter holiday when I last did my retrieval (though I had plenty mature follies for Saturday) we had to wait until TUESDAY. I don't know if it is the same in the US, but it seems to me this is a question of getting what you pay for. Plus for the transfer again, because the 5dt would fall on a Sunday, they did it Friday this time so 3DT. I really hope it works. How does work where you all are? Do they try and work around the weekend too? I try not to complain because I know the US I think we couldn't afford it in the first place... but sometimes it is hard. I am grateful that there is something we can try to make it work.

Also, wondering if anyone has had success with acupuncture or chiropractic work? And is anyone else tired of being told it's probably a psychological blockage!! I can't control that!! lol!

And in case you are curious:
age: 30, unknown reasons
One succesful egg donation in 2008 (my embies to another couple in Chicago) they had a baby boy.
TTC: 5 years (but more like 2.5 years my husband works in Africa and he is only here every other month)
1 chemical pregnancy.
1 miscarriage 10 weeks
4 AIs
1 failed IVF
1 current IVF with ICSI (negative pregnancy test 11DPT 3DT) :(

Summer- Welcome to the group. WE are so glad to have you join us. Sounds like a rough experience. My clinic here in Seattle runs 7 days a week and has someone to talk to 24 hours a day. It is expensive though. I have done one fresh donor egg cycle at $27k, FET at $7k and a frozen donor egg cycle for $17500. I think a regular fresh cycle is about $11k. I do get great care most of the time though. I am sorry you have not had good luck with your two cycles. What are your next step? Sounds like they could be more successful if they worked weekends. Never heard the psychological blockage comment. Sounds like a cop out on their part. Have they tested your thyroid and for clotting issues. I know a lot of women have conceived after figuring out those issues. Something so simple as baby aspirin can help. I wish you the best. Ask all the questions you like here.

Sariah- Sounds like you have been through it all. I am so sorry this happened to you. I have never heard of OHS being so bad. Has your clinic taken responsibility for this and will you go back to them? I am not sure I would trust a clinic that put my life in such danger. Plus I read somewhere that such over stimulation can put you at risk for ovarian cancer in the future. Sounds like you need a completely different protocol to grow your follies really slow since you are a great responder. It will be interesting to hear what your RE has to say. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Prayers are with you girl.

Sdtryingagain- Wishing you the best in your wait. It is not easy. I keep wondering myself if I should POAS.

Leoria- I pray all goes smoothly and quickly tomorrow. Big hugs to you and David.

Amy- Welcome to the group. You have come to the right place to find support and answers from our own personal experiences. I know crinone can cause irritation to the cervix. So hopefully that is all it is. On my FET it drove me crazy and was too uncomfortable so I am back on the PIO shots. They are not fun either, but no mess. When is your BETA? Mine is nest Monday the 22nd.

Sunshine/Christy- Thanks for the relaxation tracks. I pray all is going well with baby G.

AFM- Just hanging out ladies. RE called and the two embryos we hoped to freeze did not make it. So all my eggs are back in my basket and I am hoping they stick. I have had some mild cramping and twinges so I hope they are snuggling in tight. Still have not broke down and bought any evil sticks. I wish I could be so brave.

This is a big week for my family. DD leaves Thursday morning for BYU in Provo. DH resigns from his brokerage firm on Friday and starts his new job the same day. His FA is leaving with him so that is a big help trying to get all his clients to follow him. Next we have my Beta on Monday the 22 and then I leave for Provo on the 24 to help DD settle in to college live. It it going to be crazy. With all that said I am going to go take a long nap.

Wishing you the best ladies. :D :D

Hi summer, wow it seems to make no sense that your national healthcare system would invest so much money into something but then decrease the chances at success with a 5 day clinic. Well, I suppose that some access for everyone is at least more fair from a societal prospective. Are close is definitely running 7 days a week and decides on 3 vs 5 day based on the embryos number/quality. Sorry to hear that you are feeling you are on an assembly line. What is your next step?
