Christy: how exciting! congrats on your Beta

Kasia: Congrats to you. Feel better soon.

Dawn: how are you feeling?

AFM: Just want to say thank you for all of your kinds words ladies. I just just a little frustrated last time I was on. I did speak to my RE on Monday and she confirmed once again that my tube is dilated. So now she actually is recommending to implant the Essure device opposed to the tube removal. She said that we can move forward with IVF in the third month. So now I'm just waiting on someone to call and schedule me. So now It's looking more like September/October before I can start the process :( I know it's all for the best. I will still be here to cheer you ladies on.

Brightstar- I know how frustrating it can be to wait especially when you want something so badly. Wishing you all the best and thanks for your good wishes to me. I go in tomorrow for another beta. Fingers crossed that the levels keep increasing.

Lindsay- I am so sorry to hear about your beta, this journey can be so unfair...I'm hoping you are planning to try again, it took me 3 yrs to finally get somewhere. I know one dear friend who went through 11 cycles before finally bringing home her baby. Don't you give up either! Time will heal your heart and help you decide on the next best step.

Cristie- I hope you are taking it easy this week and finding some support and comfort along the way. It helped me to talk about what I was going through with others and I was amazed at how many people around me also went through a loss. In some way it made me feel connected with these ladies who openly shared with me their experience. Even my husband would come home with stories about how his coworker ladies would come into his office, how they would talk about their miscarriage to him. I was pretty surprised how they were so open minded about what happened to them, made him feel too that he wasn't alone. Made me feel like they really wanted to be there for him too. But we are here for a reason, I really feel like our paths crossed here for a reason...

Alisa- I'm glad everything went well this afternoon and you are getting a little vacation in there this week. Goodness after the beta-crap you went through you deserve some peace and quietness for the next 9 months. I hope you have no more rollercoasters anyway.

Dawn- Poor thing, I hope you get over that pneumonia soon! Your husband sounds like a keeper and is going to make a great dad! Awesome news on the doubling beta, keep up the good work mama.

Welcome Christy and congratulations on your first beta. We look forward to getting to know you as well.

AFM: Yesterday we had the 16 week doppler scan. I sat in the exam room in tears trying to tell myself to be stronger, wishing more then anything that Michael could be there with me. It's so hard to go to these appts alone, I try keep my guard up not knowing the uncertainty, but once you go through a miscarriage it seems like the joy is taken away from you. I sat in the room with that moment of crying and just prayed to be stronger and then cleaned myself up, bc I could hear my doctor from down the hallway...He visited 3 other patients before he finally got the room I was in. We chatted, and I got up on the table and moments later I heard the most beautiful sound...and it gave me (even if it was just for a moment) that peace of mind. I recorded it on my cellphone and sent it to Michael. But I'm listening to it more then him only because I cannot stop, I'm just in awe after everything we went through that we've gotten to this milestone.

Sending Much Love,

Riding to the airport with the fam, we are headed to Carmel California for DH's 20th high school reunion.

Kasia- congrats on your pregnancy. Glad things are going well!
Christy- I am so happy for you! Yay on the 2nd trimester and things going so well. Do you have the big gender appointment scheduled?
Kristy- how will ESSURE protect against ectopic and fluid interfering with conception? I am sure it helps but don't know how the device works and am just curious.
Dawn- when is your next beta? How are you feeling?
Lindsey-thinking of you as you move forward.
Cristie- how are you? Have you begun the new donor search?

AFM- ultrasound on Monday showed what appears to be a very small sac (can't be 100% sure, just a smudge). So we did a beta and it more than doubled to 1450. RE is still concerned about ectopic so he wanted to do another beta yesterday just to make sure the levels are still rising normally. Came back at a 2104 which is a 44 hour doubling time. We are still cautious because late implanters carry a much higher risk of miscarriage and this little one is way behind where it should be at almost 6 weeks. Because things are looking good I don't have to worry about trying to get an ultrasound or blood work until we get back. So no more poking or probing until June 11 at 1 when we have an ultrasound at 6 weeks 5 days. We should be able to tell then if this little fighter is going to beat the odds and become a viable pregnancy and healthy baby.

Keep the prayers coming! My thoughts and prayers will be with you all as well. Also pray for us with 8 hours of flight and travel time today with a 17 month old! Lol. :D

Alisa- I hope you have a good flight (and packed Eve an activity bag to hopefully keep her busy on the plane.) :D My brother uses the dvd player to help his toddler wind down before bedtime. I told him play anything but Barney please I listened to enough Barney babysitting over the years lol. Anyway we hope you have a great time in California, it's so beautiful out there. Last time we went I brought back some wine from Nappa Valley. I cannot wait to hear all about your trip when you get back. Oh you asked about the gender revealing appt...it's scheduled at 1:00CT June 21st...it was orginally going to be 6/18 but I wanted dh to be to make this appt so we rescheduled it to the 21st. :D TTYL Christy

Hey girls- how is everyone doing? Hope you are all well. I wanted to update because I went in for my second beta today and my level is 995 today! This has never happened to me before so I'm freaking out a bit. My husband and I have been TTC for 9 years. We have done many rounds of IVF a d i have never had numbers like these. I am trying not to get my hopes up but this news is so exciting I had to share with you ladies. Sending lots of good wishes to you all and thanks for your kind words to me.

Christy: Sounds like twins to me! That is so great. So happy for you!

Alisa: I had not idea what Essure was before now.The Essure device is placed into the Fallopian tube and forms a natural barrier. After 3 months the tube is completely closed and blocks off any sperm from reaching the egg and fluid into the uterus. My doc said this procedure is covered by my insurance and less risky than the actual tube removal. I'm just ready to get this show on the road :D

AFM: Nothing new. I'm just working like crazy. Trying to keep busy

Christy: Congrats on your rockstar Beta levels!!! I agree, it sounds like twins to me ;-) When do you go in for your first U/S?

Dawn: I'm doing ok thanks. How're you? When do you sorry in for your U/S again? (Sorry, I forgot). I bet this has been a nice week for you, being able to take a break from all of your Beta craziness :-)

Alisa: Enjoy your trip, and safe travels! That's so awesome that they saw a little sac on your U/S/, and I'm confident that you do have a little fighter in there :D

Congrats to anyone else I might have missed!!

AFM: I went to meet with the Dr. yesterday, and I chose to meet with the other RE at my clinic, because she is the one who has done all but one of my retrievals and transfers, and my DH and I really like her. I'm glad I met with her, because she was so nice, and so much more receptive than my other Dr. I feel like would've been. We talked about changing my protocol, and possibly doing a "Natural Cycle", where my period starts, and then I start the stims on day 3 (no BCP or Lupron, but then take a medicine around day 10-11 to hold off ovulation). The only thing with this is, it's riskier. The lab could be too busy, because they can't schedule it far in advance, and they could have to hold off another month, or some of my follicles could take off, and cause the cycle to be cancelled. I'm not really sure what to do :| They also are going to some genetic testing for recurrent pregnancy loss, since I've had a few miscarriages. Unfortunately, it can't be done until my Beta goes down to 0, so I'm going in on Monday to get that checked, and hopefully 6 weeks later will go for the genetic testing. I had all of this waiting!! :x

Lindsay-thanks for the good wishes. Since I am new here I was reading back a bit and I'm so sorry about the last few weeks you've had. I'm so glad that you were able to meet with an RE you liked and hope that you can continue on again soon. I know it can be frustrating to have to wait. Please know I will be sending good thoughts your way.

Oh yeah... Almost forgot to answer your question. I don't go in for my ultrasound till the 19th and I know I am going to go crazy waiting. I am excited and scared all at once. With the history I've had I know anything can happen so I get scared to get my hopes up. Trying to stay positive. Hubby and I are shocked at the numbers as its nothing like we've ever had before. ( Usually we are on the lower side of things with my betas) I would love twins but will be excited with one healthy baby too. Please keep me posted on how you are. It's nice to have buddies through this crazy rollar coaster!!
