Hopeful - Uch!! I'm so sorry. :( I wish they were able to tell you more about the embryos so you can better plan for next time. Why did the charge you the full amount for the FET if they didn't even end up doing a transfer in the end?
I'm really glad you are taking clomid this month as it is really hard to feel like you are not doing anything. And maybe you'll get lucky. :) I know it feels like it will never happen, but one day you'll be holding a baby and it'll be all yours!
Also, what is a "WTF" appointment?

They keep on changing my protocol, but every month my lining sucks. Now my RE just wants a 6 mm and she'll transfer. It's so pathetic. They have no idea what is wrong with me. I don't have any of the "typical" lining issues - endometriosis, poor circulation, poor estrogen receptivity, or endometrial scarring. I just randomly have thin lining. I am getting another blood work-up done tomorrow to see if anything more can be understood and will be getting an endometrial "scratch" next week to see if maybe that can help. Also she is starting me on a PCOS-specific multivitamin. We'll see what happens.

Maria - Welcome! Good luck with your transfer. FETs are much less likely to be cancelled than fresh cycles, but it still could happen. Basically, with FETs, they only care about your lining and minimally about your hormone levels so that they are in the right zone to sustain a pregnancy. My FETs keep on being cancelled because my lining is garbage. Each time it has been too thin. (Thin lining is a really uncommon problem with cycles, unless you have endometriosis, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you unless your doctor tells you its a problem for you.)

Hi everyone!

Welcome Maria!

Mommyoneday- Oh boy again?? Im so sorry. You're a trooper. It hasn't been easy for you. Don't you love when they have no answers. I have yet to find out my problem too.

Hopeful- i know how you feel. Im surrounded by friends who all have multiple children and i started trying years before them. So frustrating. I just went out to dinner with my in laws and they spent a half an hour showing me pictures and talking about their grandchild. Ugh! A few mins I can deal with but not half the dinner.

Well I'm ready to start again. I have to call my doctor to start the FET but I've been procrastinating. I just need to mentally prepare myself. It's like jumping off a cliff. I usually get pregnant but misscarry around 10 -12 weekks so its a long drawn out roller coaster ride. I'd like to call tomorrow and get started. Now that's it in writing here ill have to do it. Lol.

Glad I have a place to vent to people who understand.

Keep your head up ladies. With today's technology the odds are in our favor!

Hello all

I am new to this group but have been following you'll for few days. I am so thankful to have found this forum, and to you'll for sharing this difficult time.

Hubby and me are both 39, and previously were not too concerned about not having kids. I just came to the conclusion last year at age 38 that I had waited too long to have a baby. After 3 failed IUI's, we decided to proceed with IVF.
It makes it is a little difficult as the closest RE to us is 2 hours away but we figured it was worth the go.
My 1st IVF cycle was supposed to be in Nov, but was cancelled when they found that my TSH was minimally abnormal, and they refused to proceed till the numbers were well within normal. My 2nd attempt was scheduled in Jan 2014 but they stopped after 3 days of stimming as my estradiol levels were too high (1500 range).
This third attempted cycle in March, they adjusted my meds significantly, but now on day 9 of stimming, my estradiol level is 4800. This time, they wanna proceed with egg retrieval but do not want to proceed with embryo transfer, rather want to freeze the embryos for transfer 6-8 weeks later. I am supposed to take Lupron tonite instead of HCG as a trigger, have also started Carbegoline and have planned ER on Sunday 3/30/14. Needless to say, I am terrified, and super upset at the delay. I do know, all this is in my best interest d/t risk of OHSS but still havent come quite to grips with it.
Poor hubby is fed up of my crying spells, and I dont feel comfortable talking to my friends (with all their bouncing babies!). i am so glad to have found this forum. I never realized how physically and emotionally this process would be, and have only just barely started!
All u ladies are so brave and wonderful. Wishing us all the very best and a lot of baby dust all our way!

Mommiewannabe- i hope your ER went well and you are feeling ok. Thank God for lupron because OHSS is not fun. I had symptoms after my ER. Luckily they weren't severe.

Mommywannabe - Welcome and good luck! I did a lupron trigger for the same reason. It's annoying to have to wait, but hopefully it will (or has already) save(d) your eggs! You'll have to do a separate cycle for transfer, but it'll all be worth it in the end! I hope you are feeling good post-retrieval.

Hope - Yaay!!! I can't believe I missed your last message. I am so happy you are getting ready to start again! I can't wait to hear good news!

Thanks Hope and mommieoneday
Hope things are going well with you too. My ER was last Sunday, and the first few days were rough but I got to feeling initially better. However, I have been having severe pelvic pain since 2 days and started bleeding yesterday!. When I called my RE, they told me that it was too early for my period and that I likely will have intermittent endometrial shedding as they didnt have me take Provera (which incidentally I actually asked for, but they said was not necessary!)
Has this happened with any of u? Did u have to take Provera to induce normal period post ER?
Thanks in advance!

Mommiewannabe- I was given Provera post-ER to induce a period. But I took it for 10 days, so I didn't get my period until around 2 weeks post-ER. I did have horrible cramps and some bleeding like 2 days after ER, but it was likely vaginal blood (not uterine blood) from all of the cuts I got when they kept on poking me to get all the eggs out.
I hope you are feeling a bit better now. When do you plan to start an FET cycle?

Hi mommyoneday
Doing better now; thanks!
I started on OCPs yesterday and am scheduled to start Lupron next week. They now tell me I have to have a saline sonogram prior to starting Lupron as my last HSG was in August 2013 and their protocol recommends every 6 months during IVF. I am not enthused about the same, but am going along with their recommendation. Did any of u also get a saline songram every 6 months? Seems a little excessive to me but they say they want to make sure they are no polyps or anything that will affect the FET implantation. I guess my FET will be the third week of May or so. Anyone else on the same cycle?

I had my HSG in October, so I don't know if they are going to make me do the every 6 months thing. Also my HSG showed everything being perfect, which also may affect how often they do it. And age - I'm only 25. They did make me do another STD panel though before this cycle. Apparently is needed every 12 months.
I'm really really really hoping it works this month, so my transfer should hopefully be mid-April, but I look forward to yours being successful in May!

Hello Ladies!

Mommiewannabe- my doc hasn't made me retake any tests. My last hsg was over 2years ago. Glad you are feeling better.

Mommyoneday. Its mid April. I hope everything is going well. I'm praying they don't cancel your cycle again. Keep us posted.

I went back to see my doc this week and I'm finally starting my FET cycle! First I'm taking 2 weeks of birth control to thicken my lining then we will move right into the meds. My transfer will be towards the end of May.

Baby dust to all :)

Mommyoneday; I am so excited for u! Wishing u the very best. Hope the 2ww is not too crazy. BTW, did u explore the acupuncture route? My clinic doesn't have it on site, and I was wondering if I should research for a place close by post ET.
I had my saline sonogram today...OUCH!! He had to do it twice since the catheter got kinked the first time. Fun times!
Hope, trust all is good with u; looks like our FET will be around the same time. Baby dust all our way!

Mommiewannabe - I'm sorry about the HSG. Having to insert it twice must have really sucked!
I did do acupuncture for about 3 months to improve my lining, but it didn't help at all. This last cycle I stopped acupuncture because it was more stressful than it was worth. I didn't have them come to my clinic today. My RE said the only reason to have an acupuncturist come was it would help calm me down, but I felt it was just going to add more stress. I just wanted to be happy with my husband and not worry about lying there with a very full bladder having someone stick needles into me. Some people love it though - so it just depends on the person.

Mommyoneday and Hope; trust all is going well with u. I was curious re: your cycle regimens. I know every regimen is slightly different but mine is OCs for 2 weeks, with Lupron overlap after 10 days of OCs, continuation of Lupron through my period, and then depending on hormone levels and lining on US, initiating of Estrace tablets and progesterone suppositories. I have read that not all regimens do Lupron; did/does yours involve the same.
Did u/are u doing Progesterone suppositories or the shots? My clinic does not recommend one over the other and suppositories seem so much easier to endure!

Also, if I may ask, how did u decide how may embryos to transfer. I have only 2 frozen 5 day blastocysts, and still cant decide whether to transfer 1 or both. Do u know if transferring 2 doubles the chance of pregnsncy or just increases it slightly. Also as I am older, I guess by transferring more than 1, i am at a higher risk for twins if I were to get pregnant.
I have to discuss all this with my RE, but was just wondering how you'll made the decision. It may be all premature thinking on my part, depending on how many actually thaw out ok.

Thanks and Happy easter!
