Dagny,

Unfortunately, I don't think I could get DH to agree to my taking a trip over to London....at least not without him and especially not if he knew that shopping was going to be involved! Too bad I'm not still at my old job (can't believe I'm actually saying that) as I used to get sent over to the London office a lot.

Hope,

I did live in Westchester, NY and was working in Manhattan so not too far from NJ but now live in FL. We moved for DH's job. I don't think I've seen anyone on the boards that lives near me. There are a few people in the US but I think we're all pretty far spread out.

In that case, maybe I'd better mention that I live near all the major theme parks (Universal Studios, MGM, Disney, Animal Kingdom, Pleasure Island) and that the weather is nice and sunny here every day. :)

Hope - where are you in NJ? I live in Highlands - across the bridge from Sea Bright and Sandy Hook.

Going to Disney brings back some fond memories. In January of 2001 I completed the Walt Disney World Marathon - we ran from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom, to the Animal Kingdom, to MGM and then back to Epcot. What an adventure!!!

If you all get together - have a great time. I will be thinking about you!

Denise,

DH actually tried to convince me to run that same 2001 marathon. We were living in NY at the time and he thought we could just make a vacation out of going to FL so I could run it. I came up with excuses for not doing it. Even though I was running 40 miles a week at the time, it was mostly on the treadmill and I had never even run a 5k race, let alone doing a marathon. I kind of regret not having done it. Do you still run? I started getting a lot of back and leg pain (old age setting in, I guess) so have had to do other activities and cut running down to only 15 - 20 mi/wk...which I can't run very fast anymore :( .

Hi Staci --- thanks for your message - you should have run the marathon. You were doing enough running during that time that you would have been fine! My last race was the Spring Lake 5 mile run a year ago May. With all the treatment, failed IUIs last summer, beginning of meds in Nov., failed ICSI in Dec., I had to stop running. I was blessed with good news on April 5 that the FET in March worked!!! After several scares of spotting, and losing a triplet around 8 weeks, I was not permitted to do any sort of exercise whatsoever. So here I am, now 20 weeks pregnant with identical girls, and I have permission to walk. I will not do anything to jeopardize this long awaited dream come true - so I just walk with my dog. Who knows, I do miss running, and may get back into it after Dec.

Good luck to you!

Denise,

Congratulations on the upcoming twins!! It's really encouraging to me that your FET worked since I'm downregging right now for a medicated FET in August. I'm an exercise addict so I'm just hoping I won't end up being my own worst enemy in this upcoming cycle. I only managed to take it easy for the first 2 days of the 2 ww last time then I convinced myself a little exercise wouldn't hurt. I didn't run but I couldn't resist at least doing stationary cycling, the elliptical trainer and walking. I'm not sure I would take it very well if I was ever told I couldn't exercise for any length of time since I sort of plan to throughout pregnancy (assuming I ever get to that point). I guess one does what they have to though. After going through all of this, I'm just hoping I would see things the same way you do...that it isn't worth the risk.

Sorry everyone for getting off topic on this thread! I forgot where I was (forgetfulness conveniently being one of the side effects of the med. I'm on right now).
