Post by hellsbells »

Hi this is my first time joining, first cycle of ICSI, age 34 DH 40, 16 eggs collected on 25/06 - 13 were good. 9 arrested 4 fertilised, 1 embryo frozen, 2 didnt make it and 1 blastocyst (5 day) implanted on Mon 30/06.... i'm on day 3 and was wondering is anyone else on their two week wait? i never thought days could be so long. Had some anxiety as not sure if it's worked... anyone else with mild cramping symptoms? or who has been through this before as this is my first time? would appreciate anyones experiences? thanks

I have no experience, but I may be able to answer questions you might have.

Many women will start home pregnancy tests (HPT) around 5 days after a day 5 ET. If you do, it might be negative. If it is negative, just be prepared to take another a couple of days later. And again if needed. By about 10 days after day 5 ET, it should be positive if it's going to be. Regardless of any HPT results, you will still need to test at your center just to be sure and to get a measurement value.

Hi ghost,

Thanks for the info, i was tempted to try a test last weke but managed to resist (really don't know how!) so i am now on day 7, am thinking i will do a test on Wednesday morning that will be 9dpt. I just really wanted to wait to give it the best chance of a correct result you know. Symptom wise a couple of headaches, 2 dizzy spells yesterday when i stood up a bit quickly and i'm v tired since Saturday even with a good 8hrs sleep per night, but i have read progesterone pessaries give these side effects also so could be them. I have had no spotting at all. So just 2 more sleeps until Wednesday morning. Will log in then and let you know the result, everything crossed!!! :D

You are probably being exposed to more progesterone than ever before. There are many side effects of progesterone.

There are virtually no symptoms of pregnancy at this point. That's why we need the tests.

If you test tomorrow, a positive would be more meaningful than a negative. A positive would mean you are pregnant, a negative means test again later, although most positives show by then.

Best of luck.

Well Ghost! good news :D BFP at 9dpt, did 2 tests 1 digital clear blue that stated '2-3 weeks pregnant' and a first response with 2 very strong lines. I am feeling ecstatic, emotional... we honestly couldnt be happier and have been trying for 2.5 yrs so.. just wow. A long road ahead to safe zone now, but every day is one step further. For other ladies who may be reading this post in their 2WW, here are the symptoms and feelings i had and good luck!!

d1pt - mild period like cramping (not painful) lasted for the morning, bloated belly
d2 - same as d1
d3 - felt anxious, 'gurgling tummy' evening bloating, sore BBS
d4 - lower back ache, bloating
d5 - breathlessness, when walking far or going up stairs ( i only weigh 8 stone so this is not normal for me), lower back ache, bloating, sore BBS
d6 - TIRED... like soooo drowsy, by 2pm in work yawning yawning yawning, bloated still (medium) lower back ache, teary
d7 - same as day 6 but not teary, calm, sore BBS
d8 - same ad day 6 & 7
d9 - Had to test, couldnt wait any longer, BFP :) sore BBS
d11 - OTD will retest and inform clinic of result (hopefully still BFP!!!)

didnt have any very bad cramping or any spotting or bleeding of any sort.

I hope this helps some ladies out there, i'm becoming a mum and i just can't quite believe it :D

sticky baby dust to all
