Any other ladies over 40 starting their IVF journey? I just started my first IVF cycle. My retrieval and transfer should be sometime the end of July. We decided to do IVF because of not only my age but my DH had a vasectomy reversal 3 years ago which was successful but not successful in getting us pregnant. Age was a big factor in our decision. We are doing a multi cycle plan. We have 4 attempts to be successul.

Good luck to all!!

has anyone gotten more than two days positive on OP. i was using cheap target brand for months. nothing. thought i was in menopause or something. but bought the expensive ones and got positive. however, i did it 4 days in a row and positive everyday. i asked my Gyn today and she said that was actually good. i thought i remember reading that you should only see it two days. i also did one today and did the target brand and again target said no first response brand said yes. any suggestions? thanks

Hi, I am still here, believe or not! Just come back to our board to say hi to every one. For the ones who just start the journey, many of us have become proud mothers here via ivf and the help of this board. So, be confident, one day this lucky person can be you. I started the journey at 43. I turned 50 in 2012. My kids are 6 and 4 at the moment. They take our energy and time away. But I'll come back to check how everyone is doing here.

Thanks, Catharine, Caroline P, and Rhonda for keeping the look out for this group. I guess we could all start a thread of "over 50 crowd" now,, hahahaha...

by the way, i am keeping my blog alive (yasminachina.blogspot.com). Please stop by so we can chat more there!

There are many in your age group who are looking at all of the options, and should use every resource available to them to accomplish their goal of being "well informed" I have great information on cost efficient IVF options for interested parties. For the sake of tact, respect, and sensitivity I invite those interested to connect with me via email AGarcia@wisemds.com

Hello everyone! I don't want to spam this site, but I just wanted to stop in and wish you the best on your IVF!

I have a lot of experience with IVF myself, and want to actively help people who are going through with process.

I've got a website up that I'm filling up with IVF resources:

Feel free to ask me any question you might have.

Hi everyone

I'm new here, thought I would join. I have my transfer in Saturday, I had three day five Compacted embryos transferred, I'm 42, the consultant told me with the three at the same stage I have a 20 % chance of a successful pregnancy. I'm not sure if this is a good chance or not?

After six miscarriages (past five years) and one failed ivf (this is our second ivf) I'm a little nervous, test day is Aug 6, just a week away and this time the longest week ever.

My cramps have stopped totally, breasts not to painful either just a slight headache but taking progesterone twice daily so I expect it's that causing headache.

I did hypnosis visualisation and acupuncture this time around and (last time only five with two to transfer on day two) I got 17 eggs, 12 verbalised and all made it to day five but then none didn't make it to blast so we've none to freeze, I have had the only three that were all compacted embryos verging on blast they said.

Anyone else had similar experience ?

Cautiously excited and also a little nervous, worried etc
