IVF Success for 38+
I am 38+ and I am scheduled for IVF next month. For some reasons I have had to put off having a child till I was 35. But even after a lot of effort and meeting infertility professionals, I have been unable to conceive till now. Have any of you had a successful IVF at 38 or older? Please share your experiences so that I can at least know where I stand.

Great news and don’t worry. I have seen woman far older than you conceiving through IVF. You must have gone through numerous tests already but here is a suggestion. Look into PGS NGS. The chances of a woman conceiving increases manifold, especially if she is 35 and older. Best of luck to you.

Do not worry on this score. Like 1 I too have seen women over 35 in fact over 40 conceiving through IVF. So long as hormonal tests are great and your ovarian reserve is still good and strong your chances are pretty good. Good luck to you, everything will be just fine.

I have turned 41 and have had a very successful IVF procedure at BioTexCom. Doctors elsewhere had initially put my chances at 40% and I had thought that was great considering my age. But embryologists at BioTexCom work with fresh genetic material instead of frozen eggs and that increases the possibility of conceiving. Very positive experience. Wishing you the best of luck.

The posts above are a fake conversation by multiple sock accounts from the same poster advertising deceptively for a clinic.
There are several sock accounts here claiming that clinic in the Ukraine is wonderful. One sock account claimed she was 33, then claimed she was 44 in the next post. Several different accounts have signed their posts "David Curtis". Others have said things that make no medical sense, like needing a surrogate because of a poor fertilization rate. A surrogate will not fix that, and would only cost a lot of money for nothing.
One sock poster above claims that "PGS NGS" increases the chance of conception "manifold". This is wrong. PGS cannot improve an embryo, but it can test to see if an embryo has a normal number of chromosomes, within the limits of the test. The error rates on these tests are a matter of considerable debate due to the flawed sampling of the embryo and the fact that some embryos have both normal and abnormal cells, and it appears that sometimes the abnormal cell lines may be irrelevant because they stop deveoping soon, and leave only normal cells to continue. Several centers have reported healthy live births after transfer of embryos that had abnormal test results and would have been discarded.
At best, PGS can improve pregnancy rates per transfer. It will decrease success rates per egg collection because of the risk of discarding normal embryos. This is not in dispute. Other advantages of PGS include gender selection, avoiding the birth of infants with abnormal chromosome number, and increasing the use single embryo transfer to reduce the risk of multiple pregnancy.
